My cousins moved from Mississippi to Washington state when they were kids and lost their southern accents. When I saw my cousin a couple of years ago, he said he wished he had not lost his southern accent. So it works the same way for transplanted southerners.

I don't know the Canada joke- but I'm kind of dumb when it comes to most things, lol.

No,you'd have to be Canadian to have heard it.How do you spell Canada? C eh Neh and so on because parts of the country are known for saying eh so often. Im from the east coast and its not really an expression of ours. My husband teases me about the way I say "pasta" and I tease him about the way he says siren and cement.lol

agreed on Sean Connery. and yes, it's the affect of girlish, high pitched-ness (not a word lol) i find a bit irritating, but then, who knows why a woman might think it's a good idea, so i really ought to be more merciful.

I had a friend in folk high school (sort of a school year that is 90% nonsense) who had a very calm, relaxing voice. He wasn't a Christian, but he picked up a bible and started reading from the song of Solomon, and I asked if I could record him reading it. I kept that recording for quite some time.

and then there's accents of course, I love Scottish accents

I think it must have been a kind voice as children and sick people came to him willingly, but He could use His voice to calm the sea and drive out the money changers. It was probably annoying to the Pharisees, I would think.

There are many different variations to the Australian accent and their manner of pronunciation. Generally speaking, depending on socio-economic background you're likely to have a more refined tone in comparison to the typical 'Aussie' vernacular. It's a broad spectrum.

As for accents I'm partial too, I adore the Yorkshire accent from those in the Moors, it's based on a favourite piece of literature from childhood that always warms the heart.
