I use Open Office sometimes. Its just like Microsoft Word even though its free. You can save in a format that can be opened in MS word too (and vice versa).
I used to use OneNote and I liked it but didn't really have a use for it. I might try it again since my tablet is now back from the dead

I learned that with all of this rep talk going on, ... CC is slowly creating 'super members'

You can learn that you don't know much, but you don't learn you are an idiot. The idiots are the ones who think they know everything, thus learning you are an idiot is something of an oxymoron. The rest of us realize we don't know a lot and there's no way we will EVER learn all there is to know.

it's meaningless, apart from the power to give. (which is pretty fun)
