This does pose an interesting question: did Adam originally have 26 ribs, and did God take that "extra" matched set to make Eve? Hmm.

I'll have to put that on my list of never-ending questions to ask when I get to heaven someday.

Girl, if you could only see all the OTHER questions on my list.

I've written something like 500+ threads on CC alone (they're not all listed here because the system will only hold so many pages of your old writings) -- if I can ask that many questions on a forum in 7 years, just think of what I want to ask God over a lifetime! :D

Miss Skeeter sent her husband first, and he came across a nice and warm gentleman and had no tube like mouth parts, so Noah didn't suspect a thing lol.

This ranks right up with other deep theological subjects such as, "did Adam and Eve have bellybuttons?".

What is the best answer to this question?

When will you get married?
It depends on 2 things really.. what God says about it, and if i actually want to spend the rest of my life with that person.
.. I prefer to take my time on a person to figure them out before getting that serious, wedding bells isn't my endgame motive when in relationships... its easy to chase someone away doing that, or getting locked down into something you regret...
so yea for me its just a matter of who she is rather than when.

Adam - created from dirt (nup)
Eve - created from Adam's rib (nup)
Cain, Abel, and Seth - born from Eve's womb (yep)

But there are those who would argue that since Adam and Eve were the created model for the physicality of all future humans that although they were not born (thus no umbilical cord) that God would have given them a belly button anyway.

I suppose that's possible, Once. We should nut it out. After all, God will test us on this when we come to live with Him. ;)

Along those lines... Did the trees in the Garden of Eden...

Have rings in their trunks, to show their "age"? :D

(I can't take credit for that one--one of my childhood pastors brought that up in grade school.)

Of course they had belly buttons.

Without a belly button, you'd just look creepy.

Besides... where would you keep your lint?

Oh, well, that information must have been in the apocrypha "Man carrying a Chain Saw in the Garden of Eden"...for obvious reasons this was left out of the Biblical canon;).

Good golly, I thought you said "lent" and in my head I was thinking on the lents impact on belly buttons. After some thinking I realized this is a highly relevant question, and that lent potentially can be posing both a threat and a possibility to the rise and fall of a belly button.
