It makes me a bit sad when people keep focusing on marriage and finding someone. They keep putting their focus away from God and yet want God to give them things all the time..
Marriage will not bring you to heaven, Marriage and a spouse will not heal you nor will it give you the strength to open your eyes the next morning. God does.
Your on Gods mind at all times and people just refuse to even try. Dont break the fathers heart for temporal things, hold it together for eternal.

I never ask people that question because it is none of my business. Due to the fact that there is a thread on this matter makes me believe a whole mess of folks don't agree with me...
What I find funny is that people ask that like there's this marriage store across from the local 7-11 where you can just go pick a mate...

:)
I think it's more appropriate to ask two people who might be engaged or dating for a very long time :)

I would date a guy for at least a year before I'd marry him. It takes time to truly get to know someone. But then again, I've made rules like that for myself before, and they just got tossed out the window lol. I guess it depends on the situation, and definitely on the person.

I always kind of chuckle when I see people making these kinds of rules for themselves.

I've known people who have dated for four or five years prior to marriage that ended up divorced within a year or two and likewise people who have only known each other for a few months prior to marriage that have lasted over twenty years and still going.

There's only one rule. Love and respect. It does'nt matter if it's a whirlwind romance or long-term engagement although I am not really a believer of the long-term engagement except for those who met their love at an early age.

I am amused that "In God's perfect time" is getting the most votes. Somebody's taking this thread seriously, despite all the poll options indicating to the contrary.

I still say that second poll choice is the best one. :D

There may not be a marriage store across the street but it is entirely possible to meet your future spouse at your local 7 Eleven.

When my future husband finds his missing rib.

Seriously? You going with that one? You know many guys will be going for X-rays just to see if their rib is still missing in the first place? Lol...:D

This whole thread is a joke. I don't know about ribs but I know someone who has a missing kidney. Lol!

This does pose an interesting question: did Adam originally have 26 ribs, and did God take that "extra" matched set to make Eve? Hmm.

I'll have to put that on my list of never-ending questions to ask when I get to heaven someday.
