I thought rupees are what they use in Zelda's kingdom.

Or did you mean rubles?
Rupees are not worth very much, something like a 100 would equal a US dollar. For men on a tight budget seeking a wife rupees would be more affordable than rubies. The current valuation of rubles is consistent with rupees. Guess for those men seeking an affordable Russian mail-ordered bride rubles would be the way to go. Personally, I would opt for the 2 day shipping.

I wonder do these women even talk to the man before they get married or are they that desperate to come to America.

Maybe they do that Skype thing. For whatever reason, there are many that are desperate to come to America.

In this day and age, winning a major lotto jackpot would easier than finding a suitable mate.

And, just like winning a major lotto jackpot, a lot of people bank their whole lives on finding a suitable mate, and put their whole lives on hold until they do so.

And, just like winning a major lotto jackpot, I have decided that for me it will happen if it happens, but in the meantime there's a whole lot of life to live.

Of course, to win a lotto jackpot you have to at least buy a ticket.

Yeah, and I'm not out looking for a spouse either.

Somebody would have to hand me a ticket for me to win the lotto.

In the meantime...

For some it's an important life goal. Especially if there's cultural or familial pressure.

Rupee is the common name for the currencies of India, Indonesia, the Maldives, Mauritius, Nepal, Pakistan, Seychelles, and Sri Lanka, and of former currencies of Afghanistan, all Arab states of the Persian Gulf, British East Africa, Burma, German East Africa, the Trucial States, and Tibet. In Indonesia and the Maldives the unit of currency is known as rupiah and rufiyaa respectively :giggle:

I had a nap earlier. What's up with this snow in Tennessee? Like what Dorothy told Toto in the land of Oz "I don't think that we're in Kansas anymore".

I don't have a lotto ticket to give but my wife has an age appropriate single daughter.

It was very frosty here this morning to the point where, while it was still dark, it was hard to tell if it had snowed or not. There was also a fog bank behind the west end buildings over the water in front of the mountains, and the fog horns were blaring almost constantly for a couple of hours  Still, it has been a beautiful day, and fairly mild after all that :D:giggle: Um, no sunshine now and weather report says 39*F ;)

The grass is still green :)

Join the club. My first marriage in 1978 ended in divorce in 1984. After a few years I came to the realization that it was a blessing in disguise. Your marriage was long-term and I'm a bit sad that it ended. Yes, you are part of the divorce statistic but you are not alone in this regard.
Thanks for saying this.❤️

I don't really want to get into the details of my failed relationship and i don't doubt that it may be easy for some people...
But the stats show us that it isn't as easy as it once was... 50% of marriages are ending in divorce and i don't know how many people aren't even getting married but it sure seems like its a lot
I've heard some dating coaches say that the actual percentage is now around 60% in the US and closer 70% in Canada. Not exactly favourable odds.

Entering into a marriage is a calculated risks. Even at those odds you could be in the 30% - 40% that are happily married. I am a firm believer in nothing ventured nothing gained. It is key to enter into a marriage being 100% committed, if so, the odds are now in your favor.

There was heavy fog this morning. Started out around 50F and temp has steadily dropped. Currently, 25F in Jamestown, TN. Got about an inch of snow. Not so bad really. Darlene says the weather here is refreshing after having lived in the Tampa area since 1979. She is originally from Indiana and spent her childhood mostly in Kentucky and Tennessee. She loves this area. Can't say that I do but I do love her so here I am.
