Estée Lauder, Mary Kay, Avon Resume Testing on Live Animals
Expanding their brand in China means these cosmetic giants must resume painful animal tests.

-> Estée Lauder, Mary Kay, Avon Resume Testing on Live Animals | TakePart

"The grim underside of the so-called beauty industry is exemplified by the draize test. Endless rows of white albino rabbits (although other species, including dogs, are used) are restrained and fully conscious as so-called "technicians" pour test substances into their eyes, or apply them to raw, shaved skin. These chemicals are left in the eyes or on the skin for a set amount of time and then rinsed or removed. The animals, however, remain imprisoned for up to two weeks as their reactions are recorded. Hemorrhaging? Adema? Blindness? Ulcers? It's all in the name of perfume, mascara, and other products of human vanity."

Ps 119:37 Turn away mine eyes from beholding vanity; [and] quicken thou me in thy way.

Prov 30:7-9 Two [things] have I required of thee; deny me [them] not before I die: Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me: Lest I be full, and deny [thee], and say, Who [is] the LORD? or lest I be poor, and steal, and take the name of my God [in vain].

So...in case some of you forgot the point of this thread, permit me to remind you:

Inspired by Rachel's makeup thread, and the lovely ladies who were brave enough to post photos of themselves without a trace of makeup on their pretty faces...somebody has challenged the women of CC to create a thread for women to post pics of themselves with no makeup (at least, I think that's what happened...I dunno, I've like, slept since then and have forgotten who said what and when). I honestly don't know if I'm even doing it the way it was intended by whoever had the original idea.

Anyway...

I doubt this kind of thread will get too many participants...it's a scary thing to do.

So of course, I'm going for it.

Even though my chin is breaking out and the photos I took have captured a random strand of hair that appears to resent the rest of my head and is trying to escape.
This thread is not to call women insecure because they use makeup...or sinful...

Also....why would God, who is pure, and without flaw, or bad odor for that matter, need to take a bath, and cleanse Himself, if He is already perfect, and has not marred Himself in any way?

He doesn't. God doesn't even NEED anything. He is already complete. We, as humans, have been deprived, and daily need renewed and need Him to fill us. What we need, God does not.

no disrepect to the op but why entitiled the thread so in the first place

I have nothing against ladies who wear make up but if i am wrong to say woman who wear it are insecure .Then why do they wear it in the first place if they consider themselves so beautiful that they dont need it because all eyes are on me
remember graduation day we all had one what was weraing make up for and its main purpose

As a child we were all cute and beautiful why all of a sudden we get older that it is a pressure to look beautiful with the aid of make up that all i wanted to say but ugly blow it wayyyy out of contxt

What is this madness? I don't know. It doesn't matter. There would be no need to bathe but maybe we would because it's refreshing. You're like a female version of Isdaniel.
please don ever compare me to Isdaniel
Would you like if i compare you to someone else

Thankies

No, you misunderstand me. I have few issues with Isdaniel. You just ask lots of really random questions like he does.

My first reaction here was sinful and in anger. I have taken a moment and prayed for peace and guidance.

I believe the reactions to the statements is based on us having sisters here who openly say they where makeup. Thus at first glance it appears you called my best friend insecure.

I will offer some thought and perspective. Do we not attempt in seeking things like employment to dress in attire that makes us look our best? Is that shallow and insecure? Possibly it is but the fact is people make first impressions. Thus we try to look our best for those important events.

I don't really ever wear makeup but understand why others do. Sometimes it's cultural, other times it's simply to put what hey feel is there best foot forward. Maybe it makes them feel good to hi light their eyes, which they believe is their best feature.
There actually is a thread about this. The one that lead to this one....

Here is the thing, yep God loves us how we are plain. Jesus loves us in makeup too.

It is a personal choice, I wear little knitted beanies cause they are cute.. Does this make me insecure? No it has nothing to do with how I feel about myself.

I seriously don't care if anyone objects to wearing it. I simply don't like assumptions about those who do being made. I don't think scripture should be used as not intended. Plus in my opinion it's not kind to insult a group of people who already posted themselves wearing and not wearing it.
the thread was intended to be fun, build confidence and the like... Or that's what I thought, I took comments as doing the oposite.

Anyhow all I can do is own my actions. I was wrong, it's not my place to say who posts what. Post anything CC allows and have fun. I pray in knowing Christ we can learn to keep from using our personal opinions to say hurtful things.
I was wrong I apologize.
I became angry and sinned.

Love you all even when I can't see your perspective,
lexi

I understand what you're saying RuthHannah and it's possible some of what you do say is lost in translation or meaning. And I also have to agree that every person here posting a picture -EVERYONE- have taken my breath away.

Quite frankly, I don't know what it is. Is it just the human beauty of facial structure? Hair color? The way the smile or eyes just belong to that one woman and no one else? Or is it something else? I think it's something else (and there was a period of thought between this sentence and the last). The light that was once under the basket but now lights up the room. The light that identifies the Brides of Christ - that's what I think it is. I kept on seeing it time and again, almost hoping I wouldn't somehow? I mean, I've seen plenty of beautiful woman with the right face, hair color, eyes, make up but without the candle behind the eyes. It's rather like seeing zirconium instead of the diamond. Am I explaining that right? Glass instead of the ruby?

Ahhh. Can't explain it. All I know is it ain't Bare Essentials making these women beautiful.

Thanks, mate. I ordered my beard from Weta Workshop. They're the masters behind The Lord of the Rings movies.
No, it's actually my real beard. I was born with it.

I consider makeup to be an enhancement. It isn't the makeup that brings beauty, it merely enhances/accents the beauty that already exists. To shame women because they wear makeup isn't godly and isn't Christian, especially since this thread was created to boost the confidence of women in regards to their natural beauty. I say we return this thread to its original purpose and continue to encourage women to see their beauty, rather than beating them over the head with our opinion on whether women who wear makeup are insecure and sinful or are vain and prideful.

Take the advice of dear old dad regarding stray animals: if you feed it, it will stay.

Okay, here's my entry to the thread.

Now I don't actually have any photos of me wearing makeup, because I so seldom wear it. So I photoshopped and airbrushed myself in one photo for comparison. :p:p

Ugh... I think I just convinced myself to never wear it. xD
