I was counting in my head the other day and over the nearly 7 years I've been here, I can think of about 5 couples who've gotten married and at least 10 who've dated (more if I could remember their usernames...)
And I'm one of the people who knows the LEAST of what's going on with this site so you can imagine the numbers are actually much, much higher than that.
So... every time I see the "This is not a dating site" warning, I have to chuckle to myself... because the people who issue the warnings are usually ones who've dated/liked/crushed on someone from CC themselves.

Sometimes it's so stinkin' obvious when someone likes someone else but the person has cold feet, so instead of watching it drag on and on and on, I'm tempted to send a PM to the object of affection just to get the ball rolling... But of course, I don't dare (never have, never will, as it's not my business.)
As for me, I don't worry about it too much, if I liked someone here, I'd tell them, or I'd hope they'd tell me, and I'm often asked, "Are you dating so-and-so (insert name here)?"
Nope. I just love to find people here to banter back and forth with. I've had 2 CC crushes over the years (at different times) that didn't turn into anything, but I can always hope for a 3rd!!! (And I'm taking cues from Wise as to how to find him.)

I'm not LOOKING to date anyone from this site... but if some wonderful guy happened to turn up (well, there are many wonderful guys here) and we happened to click and be compatible without wanting to strangle each other and he actually laughs at my jokes...
I most certainly wouldn't turn him down.

Wise, you are extremely intelligent, especially when it comes to political and social matters, and you have an awesome sense of humor. I'm so glad you are sharing these things with us!!! Please keep doing so. Your threads are one of the few things that have made me smile this week.
Have you ever thought of adopting? (Just asking... I know being a single parent would be incredibly hard, as I've thought about it myself.)
