The problem with hard truth (e.g. upsetting true information) is that it can interfere with the endocrine system's release of pleasurable hormones.
This, of course, results in behaviors designed to remove the interferer of upsetting information (e.g. hard truth)... a process that involves initiating, inhibiting, or modulating one's state or behavior in a given situation called emotional self-regulation so as to return to a state of chemically induced happiness.
Emotional regulation is a highly significant function in human life which every one of us experiences.
Nevertheless, wisdom demands understanding and applying hard truth in our life.
If only we could get those hormones straightened out... lol.
I'm not against the truth, I'm all for it. I know life isn't all puppies and rainbows. But I also believe in enjoying the blessings we do have and looking to grow more to be like Christ by trying to have a grateful heart.
