I have never put anyone on ignore in the forums, but I do it multiple times a night in the chat room. If people can't be respectful enough to read my private chat notice and follow it, then I don't feel they deserve the courtesy of an answer from me.

Yes, if there is a serious moderator request, I will listen and do what I can, but when it's a guy from a middle eastern country (not saying everyone from that area is bad, but I would say the majority of pm's I get are from that area) who only wants to talk to me because I'm a woman who shows up on the list, then no, sorry, it's not happening.
In the 15 years you've been on here, you've never blocked anyone from the forums? Woah..

That would be correct. I don't tend to interact with the forums that tend to get into topics that are so controversial that I would desire to block people (such as the bible discussion forum) so I've never had a reason to block a person in the forums themselves. Also, take into account the fact that the forums have only existed for a little less than half of the time that the website has been around. The chat rooms were opened in April of 1998, I believe. We got the forum system around December of 2008.

Wow! I realised I have a reasonable number of people on ignore (maybe 13 or so) and all but one were from the Bible Discussion Forum. Hmm... I shouldn't be surprised.

Totally an hypothetical question for funsies:

If Jesus was a member of CC, how many ignore lists do you think he be on?!

Probably some, my Sister and I attend the same church, for some reason lately she's been told a lot of stuff through the grapevine. She doesn't like it and is tired of those complaining, she's thinking of leaving. I like that church, I know about the gossips I choose to pretend to not know, anyhow I told her that many churches have this problem and God could come and start a church and that stuff would still happen.

I'd ignore you if you want, but I like your posts so it wouldn't last long.

I was thinking of starting a new game... "Guess Who's On Ugly's Ignore List--Are You One of The 60?" (Is that kind of like the 144,000 in Revelation?)

But, he can't see my posts.

D'OH.

*Le sigh.* Another great idea ruined... just ruined, I tell you...

I put a guy on ignore cause he always wanted to talk about a certain topic that I did not want to discuss. I warned him several times that I would if he continued. I think it wouldn't have been Christian of me NOT to do so. Besides, I know he could come back under another ID and talk to me, but either way he quits.

Yeeeeeeep. It's funny how easily annoyed the man can get.

Go to a user's profile page. The third button underneath their profile picture.

I don't want to be a kill joy, but let's stop talking about Ugly, I realize the 60 ignore thing was a joke, but let's just stop. He's got his reasons and this thread was just curiosity as to why anyone ignores someone not just him.

Please and thank you.

I've never put anyone on ignore. Some have tempted me to do so the last couple of months, but if I did, I would just do it and not share the "whos" and "whys" publicly.

For the most part, a member's behavior often gets them banned anyway long before it becomes an issue with me.

An interesting conundrum. If you are on someone's ignore list you can't just ask "Hey am I on anyone's ignore list?" in the streams of consciousness thread, because they wouldn't see it... because you're on their ignore list. Hmm..........
