One sick day and you need a note from a doctor? That's unreal. How it even possible to see a doctor without any notice whatsoever? Besides that, who's going to pay for that. That would be one expensive sick day. Just the thought of the hassle makes me sick. I'm glad that you are gone from that dreadful place. Chalk it up to experience and keep plugging away on the job search.

Thanks man. Yeah they had a clinic on site which wasn't expensive, but if you happened to say get sick in the middle of the night and had no way of getting that note then you were stuck. Or say I had gotten one of those stomach flus and I was throwing up all night and couldn't leave where I was, how could I be expected to hop in my car and drive there? It would be a nightmare.

I understand that they need people, but I just have pre existing issues especially with my digestion that would make their requests pretty impossible to implement...

This is kind of interesting to me. I was in the work force for more than 50 years, and never had one paid "sick day." Ya got sick, you just didn't get paid for that day. Never had a day of paid vacation in all those years, either. (I think you just might be able to manage this.)

Maybe this generation is just to dang privileged for it's own good XDD Not kidding either. But I guess that's part of my problem too, I was raised in a house that my parents got such an amazing gig with sick time, vacation, awesome perks, ect. ect. that I have that as my bar for a "good job." In all honesty it's probably an amazing job, and something that may or may not be given to me like theirs was.

They work at SRP in Arizona. If you ever live in Arizona aim for SRP, seriously it is like the best.

Meh. Over the years I got pretty good at telling the difference between some bizarre boss mandate (and some are that bizarre) and the boss is really mad at someone else because.... Bosses talk a lot. Even more than I do.

I didn't get paid for sick days if I was hourly, but got paid for them if I was salaried. The difference between blue-collar and paper-pushing usually.
