I must say reading this thread I just despair!

so many people are being frankly hateful in this thread. My favorite quote although there are obviously different versions according to different biblical versions.

"It is written, 'MY HOUSE SHALL BE CALLED A HOUSE OF PRAYER'; but you are making it a ROBBERS' DEN. "

Jesus I know would considers the capitalism of the church a greater mass sin that needs attention. All too often where ever I go I see church's thinking about flowers while a homeless person goes hungry just outside. Or they charge people to come in!

Yet time & time again i see people get worked up over this & every single country homelessness is UP inequality is up! I pray compassion may come back but I for one cannot attend any church any more, far too focused on the wrong issues frankly.

HOMOSEXUALS are an abomination to GOD....plain and simple, the discussion here is not about right or wrong...it is about the TRUTH of GOD'S WORD! Both the Old and the New Testament clearly state...that it is something horrid and GOD has judged it...and will judge it....defending it...or being lukewarm about it....is clearly a deceit from within...don't be swayed by false ideas and heart felt passions....sin is sin and will be burned with fire....

*rolls eyes*
excuse you? I'm catholic. from my prospective it sounds like you are calling us "queers." maybe you miss spoke or maybe i misread it, but personally i did not like that comment. I found it offensive and rude. Please keep comments like this to yourself.

Obesity is an even greater abomination to God but why don't I see any Christians jumping on that band wagon? If you're reading this and decide to choose your path as a Christian Extremist, please don't be a hypocrite and make sure you hit on EVERY sin/abomination and not just a select few. You'll have more credibility with the rest of society when you spew your fire.

It's people like you and the hateful judgments towards other human beings why non believers combat us and why Christians who are going though these trials turn away from God. If you all just followed and lived by the words of Jesus Christ we would probably have peace on Earth. But nope... You modern day Pharisees mess it up for everyone... I pray that you all find love. I also pray to you and others a like find life change through Jesus Christ and learn to Love through his light and that love is the answer to combat any sin. Not hate, not judgement, not torment.

Mark 12:30-31
30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’[a] 31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[b] There is no commandment greater than these.”

John 8:7
They kept demanding an answer, so he stood up again and said, "All right, but let the one who has never sinned throw the first stone!"

God Bless Everyone!

God hates sin. all sin. the Bible has several lists of what God hates. that never changed.

no homosexual, no heterosexual who commits adultery, no thief, no greedy person, no politician, no catholic,

who doesn't repent,

will get into heaven.

of course, no person who doesn't repent will get into heaven. no person at all.

God does list a bunch specifically though.

pay attention.

p.s. about the catholic/ gay connection. it's been known for 2000 years. not all catholics are gay, no. all are deceived, yes.

and the leadership gives the green light to what God hates..... they always have. they're way is heresy (remember the site you're on says so specifically; as does Scripture, which is somewhat more important; as does Yahshua, likewise)...

Upfront (not that it matters), I am not gay.

That being said, I don't know how I feel about whether or not being gay and acting on it is a sin or not...but right now, I'm thinking that it's not. Again: I DON'T KNOW ECACTLY HOW I FEEL.

I know all of the verses that people use to point out that it is wrong and not how God created it.

BUT, I've also heard views on the other side of it. I also study a bit of ancient history in school and know that man-on-man action in the Bible wasn't what it is today. Then, it was talking about rape and that has never been ok. (I also don't have all the facts on this.)

I know Christians who are gay and are ok with God. They feel that it is not a sin (and I know they aren't justifying their sin by saying this--they've actually experienced God's comfort in who they are with this...meaning that they are gay).

So, I was wondering if anyone on here is gay and would like to share how they feel in their relationship with God on this.

Comments from straight people are welcome, too, of course.

I've just been incredibly curious and confused about this for a while.
Allow me to say you are seeking something as an alibi or "justification" (with no offense or judgement here).

I´d challange you to think: What would you feel if your "son or daughter" were engaged in those issues and you yourself see them in the very act, even kissing any in their mouth?

What is found in a same-sex relationships you don´t find more atractive with the opposite sex?

The more I get older the more I like women, and I´m sure God made sex perfectly to match different sexes (although I have found out some women have odd wired-things I don´t understand). Such as wiseb recently said: "They think the grass is greener next door"

Same sex experiences only seek lust, to please some curiosity.

Greater abomination? Where do you get this?
An abomination is an abomination. They are all hated by God. God tells us that He is forgiving of the sin, but He will not accept those who continue the sin.

Being tempted is not a sin. Accetping it is. Can the temptation be frustrating and difficult? Yeah. Every Christian goes through this. Its those who endure that God loves, not those who embrace the temptation. I have come from this life myself. I know its a temptation. I know that like any temptation, it can be a struggle. But being tempted is not a sin, in fact we are warned that we will be tempted. Its allowing yourself to give into the temptation thats a sin.

And Christians are not evil for trying to warn people of this. It is an act of love that they try to help people find the truth.

Hi. I am technically bisexual however I have not acted on these impulses because I know them to be wrong.

Love Letter to a Lesbian | Desiring God

Former Lesbian Jackie Hill Responds to Macklemore’s ‘Same Love’ |

I think that if you are having certain urges...pray about it...PRAY A LOT. God isn't mean he's not going to be like "Oh you are sooo wrong for this" he's going to convict you and change you for the best. If you need support on this you can PM me.

Also being gay is not a sin, acting on your impulses is a sin like same sex sex is a sin. It's no worse of a sin than lying, or murder. I used those examples because they are on two seemingly opposite ends of the spectrum. I think God sees all sins the same. Same sex sex is DEFINITELY a sin but there is hope and you are worth it and you can become whole through Christ.

Temptation isnt a sin, we are all being tempted with evil. All God wants is for you to just not act out on it.

Angels were tempted with sin, and 1/3 of them accepted it. We are told what happened to them. And we are told they are now tempting us to bring us down too. We have all already sinned, but thats why God has given us Christ. Repent for your sins youve done, like all of us have, and reach out to Him to avoid temptation when you are being tempted, and He will take care of you. Rebelling and accusing God of being wrong, and talking to Him like you know better will lead you to His wrath. Many Christians have come from homosexuality. We have found ways out of it, and found strength in God from it :3

There is no such thing as a gay christian. That's a ridiculous oxymoron..you can't be gay AND serve God..preferring the same sex is a sin in God's eyes.

Thank you for posting these questions. It is important for Christians everywhere to ponder these difficulties. Since you state that you have already read all the scriptures on this topic, I will not at this point refer to any. However, perhaps something that you have not considered is this: your emotions. You cannot validate any religion or "religious experience" based on any physical of psychological benefit that it may have brought you or someone else. If so, we would all be muslim, they have more money. The idea that someone "feels" comforted by God is not evidence of God's blessing. Anything that is untrue is not of God.
Both moral justice and moral law derive their origins from four principles (which are general revelation and not special revelation):
1. What nature (and Nature's God) has given to man.
Only an irrational person would claim that there is no nature by which all the universe is governed. We must distinguish then first that nature has laws that are physical and meta-physical (meta-physical means the nonobservable characteristics of the universe, such as the universe had a beginning but that cannot be observed). Physical truths such as gravity are laws that cannot be rationally denied were as meta-physical truths, such as the existence of logic, consciousness, numbers, and existence itself, require more intellectual exercise to discern. However both are immutable.
Physical and meta-physical laws cannot be denied; they are a part of the universe and can be either observed or logically discerned. Such as the sin of homosexuality, this is not a natural process from which offspring is produced. Offspring is the product of nature in order to propagate itself. It's practice is a violation of the very nature of man.
2. From the distinctiveness of the human consciousness.
Morality solely exists for the purpose of humans. The universe does not need morality to function therefore moral laws exist for the purpose of man. This moral distinctiveness of the human consciousness means that man has an obligation to abide by moral laws. People are quick to point out when someone is in error. People jump at the opportunity expose your faults. This is because man has an instinctual moral obligation to correct a perceived falsehood. If anyone denies this then do not bother to rebuttal this because you would be exercising the very objective moral value I am describing.
The nature of the physical and meta-physical laws shows that every idea and action has a philosophical consequence. Since man is a rational being we are bound to the laws of logic to discern moral law.
3. From the function of man.
By using the cognitive processes of your mind and the natural abilities man has through nature, a person is able to function in the world and find their purpose. For the purpose of helping others, educating the ignorant, feeding the hungry, producing goods and services for others, being a father, a mother or a sibling. There are also those more noble and higher functions of man such as worship and piety and being an example to others.
No other creature claims to have purpose. No other creature feels an obligation to do and act within the world they live in. No other creature has the ability of abstract thinking so they can determine consequences and be certain of principles they have not observed. In other words no other creature has faith that their contribution will have affects on others in the world.
4. From what serves to unite humanity as a society.
Sin divides people. The nature of truth is that it is naturally and mutually exclusive and not inclusive. Therefore truth unites people and lies divide us. Sin gives disunity. Sin corrupts the good; it is contagious on the whole population.

I hope this has given you something to think about

Have not all of us sinned? No one is perfect exept god. I love every "gay" person on the earth just as i love every "straight" person as we are taught to love the sinner but hate the sin. I also belive that no one here is in any place to judge and should be repenting because of some of the things being said on this forum. I personaly belive that god made us all the way we are and it is not a choice because if we are all part of gods plan and he loves us all the same why would he hate homosexuals so much.

The "love the sinner but hate the sin" thing isnt actually biblical.

But yes, we should love our brother. But that does NOT mean we should accept homosexuality. In fact the bible tells us that we should not be around sexually immoral people, that we should keep ourselves seperate from them. Trying to warm people who are gay that its a sin is not hate, its actually love that motivates Christians. Dont forget that many Christians have actually suffered with the temptation of homosexuality, and some have even lived it. They want you to realize the truth not because some sick need to rule the world but because we know what it will lead to, Gods wrath.

And God does not hate homosexuals, as Christ died on the cross for them. But He DOES hate homosexuality. He has made sure to tell us several times that He does.

And no, God did not make people gay. Have you ever been tempted to steal before? Does that mean God made you a thief? People are gay because they gave into their desires. There is nothing that makes you gay, and nothing that forces you to act out in temptations. We dont say that people who are turned on by things like what happens in the bathroom are just born that way and cant help it, why do we do it with homosexuality?

actually "love the sinner, hate the sin" IS biblical..it's what Jesus did and we're commanded to do as he did: love the sinner, but hate their sin.. :)

Kinda, we are to love them, but that doesnt mean accept homosexuality and allow it, and actually in Cor 2 we are told that we should not be around sexually immoral people.

A Christian should never once tell someone that being gay is okay. But yes, we should warn them its a sin and help them get away from it, and if they are in need of help, we should help give them a room and food and all these things. But we should not be okay with homosexuality. That would not be love, it would be giving in in order to be appreciated.

Ok I normally avoid these arguments but this comment just irked me to no end. We call those who believe themselves to be homosexual gay because they are identifying a part of themself. Sinful or not, active or not, it is still a part of who they are fundamentally.
