you mentioned this afew times and I have your answer the earth is 24,901 miles if I stand on a tall mountain with A telescope that increases my view to see out that far 24,901 miles I will still only be able to see a number of miles not the whole 24,901 miles not even half that 12,450 miles if I was standing halfway between each end at the middle.. Why would that be is because the earth is a ball and doesn't protrude straight out like a flat earth it dips below the horizon line so yes only to a point of the curvature of the earth.
it dips below the horizon line so yes only to a point of the curvature of the earth.
How many miles are you claiming you can see before the curvature of the earth dips below the horizon line.

i like this a lot postman thanks :) it appears the green, red, blue has some curvature to them :)

you're welcome, and thanks!
i have seen it with my own eyes over the Gulf of Mexico; it's pretty cool! - if you're ever at an ocean, with a clear sky at sunset or sunrise, something to watch for. easier to catch at sunset.

Gary & Spherical are going to ignore this, because 'flat earth' optics cannot explain it at all. heck, they can't explain the sun setting or rising at all; they'll tell you it's a trick of perspective as the sun gets too far away for light to reach you -- which doesn't account for half of it being below the horizon while the other half isn't ((what, the bottom half of the sun is too far away to see while the top half isn't yet? whatevs..)) -- and has no way whatsoever to account for the green image.

they'll just move on from one debunked idea to the next, hoping to finally find one that will *work* to deceive someone, so they can make them their apostle in their 'flat earth' religion. it has nothing to do with Christ whatsoever; that's why i say they are trolling.

well, i'm reverse trolling. this isn't the first time i've ever had this conversation; probably not the first time i've had it with Spherical - though he would have had a different username in the past :)
pointing out bad physics is a way to find some interesting good physics -- much like finding the flaws in bad theology helps us learn about sound doctrine.

I can never decide if people truly believe this nonsense or are just pulling our legs

just in case you DO think the earth is flat: Ever watched the horizon from faaar out at sea? It curves ....

LOL

that pretty much sums up the whole problem here. you can't tell the difference between flat and curved at all
;)
and you keep posting things "as if they are proof" which are not proof at all!

If that were a globe horizon it would not be so flat.

If you truly believe the earth is a globe, If you stand on a tall mountain with a view of great distance, how long of a distance do you believe you should be able to see till the curvature of the earth dips below the horizon line?

The horizon looks like it has an almost imperceptible curve but it definitely curves. The higher the elevation, such as the view from an airplane, say 5 miles altitude, the more pronounced is the curvature.

The Earth's surface curves out of sight at a distance of 3.1 miles, or 5 kilometers.

I was just wondering.... being that the earth is actually flat and not curved, would this make it easier to find the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow???? :D

uh, if it were flat, it would be flat. ;)

what is it the kids say these days?

"i think we're done here."
YOU ARE DONE BECAUSE YOU CAN'T OR YOU REFUSE TO ANSWER MY QUESTION.

If you truly believe the earth is a globe, If you stand on a tall mountain with a view of great distance, how long of a distance do you believe you should be able to see till the curvature of the earth dips below the horizon line?

What is your answer to the above question?

You have to go to China to find the gold.

YOU ARE DONE BECAUSE YOU CAN'T

o wow since you typed in bold and all capital letters, i totally changed my mind.

you so persuasive!!! ;)

ok buddy, if you want to talk about "unanswered questions" let's start from the beginning. you've not answered a single question from me to satisfaction at all; most you completely ignore.

so go back to post #22, the first time ((1[SUP]st[/SUP] time in this thread, not 1[SUP]st[/SUP] time ever)) i debunk these stupid lies.

and explain the phases of venus.

oh, you can't? you refuse? you want to talk about some other deception instead because you typed a prayer into youtube god and your little idol sent you a message about trying to deceive us about the horizon instead?

that is why we're done here. you got nothing.
you can't even tell difference between a straight line and a curve. why should i entertain you any more?

The windows in an airplane are curved. You are seeing the light reflecting off the curved windows and then fooling yourself into thinking the windows are not curved.
