why did god create evil?

God created evil to apply His Wisdom and Power to ALL he created...

When God made man he said LET US (note the US) make man in OUR image after OUR likeness... This likeness and image was to include a choice.... The power or result of CHOICE...

You are correct, God could prevented Satan from wanting more, but that would not make HIS will be the ULTIMATE POWER. So God knew he would create a earth and a man and then He would create MANY LIVING SOULS to make a choice.... To spend eternity with God or without God. Because God would make them in His likeness and image, He has to give them the freedom to CHOOSE. So He has to give them the access to both GOOD AND EVIL... TO MAKE THAT CHOICE...

If God does not do it here on earth he has to AGAIN let evil into HIS HOLY KINDOM. Like when Satan wanted more and sinned with many angels... This will NEVER again happen, because ALL SPIRITS made their choice here on earth... To be with EVIL, ot to be with GOD!

God could EASILY kept temptation away from Adam and Eve, He has the abiltiy to DELIVER the GODLY from temptation... But the Godly has to CHOOSE TO BE GODLY, and not evil.... Adam and Eve was tempted, and they sinned, so did we, but God can do something about that, because HE IS GOD. AND THERE IS A CHOICE...

The bible says... GOD KNOWS TO DELIVER THE GODLY FROM TEMPTATION.... And I believe GOD KNOWS THAT... When they choose to be delivered, GOD WILL GLADLY DO SO... And then there is NO EVIL FOR THEM, EVER AGAIN! God does that right here on earth... That is how well God can deliver and save.... What an AWESOME GOD HE IS.

When you say this, "God had to give spirits the free choise...", combined with all else you have said, it sounds like you are saying that from the beginning before Man ever was that God knew and planned for there to be sin.

And if that is what you are saying, then you have not understood anything discussed in this thread.
 
Well God did send His Son to SAVE SINNERS. And God did know when Abraham was talked to that He said... IN YOUR SEED many shall be blessed... That SEED was Jesus.

Did God know there would be sin? Why is there more people than Names in the BOOK OF LIFE that was written before the World was made.... And did god not send an EVIL SPIRIT to enter into Saul, and he threw the spear at David? Where did God get the evil spirit? Does god have evil spirits to sent into people, and then they commit evil deeds. like trying to kill a harp player with a spear....

God says,,, Jacob I loved, Essau I hated... But I will give you this....
Evil and sin, is in darkness.... God says.. the light has NO communion with the darkness... So God admits there is darkness... AND HE IS NOT THERE, or else it would not be dark any-longer...

This is our choice (sort of)... To stay in darkness, and hate the light, or come to the light and let God FILL us with light... Then we can be the light of this world...

We would like to be in the light, that is why we SEEK God of the light, And HE WANTS us in the light, that is why HE STILL IS THE LIGHT... AND HE CALLS US TO THE LIGHT... But MANY are in the darkness... if you want call it evil... call it darkness, call it sin, call it unrighteousness, call it God absent... It is still NOT WHAT GOD WANTS...

God's will is that ALL would be in HIM, and in HIM is no sin. No evil, no darkness.

For those in Christ is a NEW CREATURE... The old was dark and sinfull, but the NEW.... WOW!

I would say that God created the ability for evil to come into being but did not create evil. the man's analogy of evil being the absence of God would also promote more of a deistic approach to theism rather than a benevolent (or malevolent depending on how you think) deity watching over existence

True, but the question is why did he have to send Jesus to save sinners? Who made sinners, sinners? And is it really proper for anyone to accuse God of having created sinners and then also say that sinners made themselves sinners through their own power of choice? Would that not be slandering God as did the devil who accused God to his face in front of all the sons of God, saying that Job only was faithful to him because God spoiled Job with material blessings? Why would Satan make such an accusation if Satan knew that God had already intended that Job would sin?

Why is it that man now has to come to him? Or, is it as the prodigal son and man has to return to him?

Show me the scripture which says that? Show me the scripture that says the names in the book of life were there from before the World was made?

Did God send an evil spirit to Saul because Saul was faithful to God or unfaithful? And was that evil spirit the same as a devil or demon who chose to sin against God?

Why did God say he loved Jacob but hated Esau? What was that done for the purpose of showing us? And was that hate an emotion hate or just the hate of Esau being deprived of the blessing by God's choice to demonstrate that certain something to us?

Why again is that our choice? And what happens if we choose to stay in the dark and why would God then punish us for doing something he gave us the choice to freely do? Does that harmonize with God's justice as you understand God's justice?

In the Bible god tells us what he did and did not do in this connection. I know because I have seen that he has. And I know it is much to think about but as we could be slandering God through ignorance of what he did and did not do had we not ought to care to ascertain the truth so that we can speak correctly and honorably concerning God and actually be able to defend God's name against slanderers instead of falling in with them?
 
My students ask this all the time. My first response is, "Who do you think you are?" Are we equal to God to ask Him this? Can a human even understand this concept? I say, "No." Humans cannot handle the topic of good and evil. Why do you think we were forbidden from the knowledge of good and evil in the first place?

Anyway, my answer is "love." The only way God could show just how much he loves us, was to die for us. Therefor, evil is a "necessary evil." Without death, the devil, evil, bad things, pain, etc. there is no need of a Savior. What would Jesus save us from without evil? The last line of the Lord's prayer is "deliver us from evil." (Humans added the "For thine is the kingdom, etc. That part isn't even in the Bible.)

No we can't because to do that would put scripture up as a lie. Why would Jesus need to return as a glorious warrior if there were no evil in existence? Define evil for me too

essentially yes because scripture is from God. if we eradicated evil before J-day then God lied
 
I personally think God's Kingdom setup is mostly socialist. Nothing wrong with some of the ideals. It's people in power abusing those ideals that make it so bad. Communism is absolute government control with a supreme leader. God's Kingdom is set up with a ruler in absolute control. I'm good with that :). The communist term is coined and used in a negative light and used for inhumane evil world leaders. I wouldn't apply this to God's Kingdom, although some of the setup is parallel.
 
My understanding alone is very limited, so I read over the Book of Genesis before I could attempt to share my perception.
God is everything. He certainly is the beginning, and also is the end. Everything that came to be, was from Him, the Alpha and the Omega. Now, looking at the book of Genesis closely, that holds an account of the birth of creation, it is interesting to notice that there is no record of creation of evil. God made light. But He separated light from the darkness, because light was good.
I essentially feel, evil is all the falls away from God. As long as all is in Him, it is good. No evil can come from God. But all that wishes to step away from Him is evil. Lucifer was created to be a beautiful Angel. He came from God too. But he was not made evil. He chose to be. He rebelled.
However, it is also true that God did not put evil in His creation. Why would He? But that evil exists is proof of the existence of free will. Why is there free will? Simply because our God loves us. For what kind of Father would bind His children in chains? He is a loving God, who loves us despite the choices we make, for else, He would not have given His only begotten son to wash away our sins.

Eph 1:4, He has chsen us in Him before the foundation of the world.

Now! Who can come to Jesus if the FATHER does not draw him... But does the FATHER PUSH... Nope! As Kardi says... God IS NOT THE GOD OF EVIL. God says very clearly HE DOES NOT WANT ONE SOUL LOST..

And here lies the TRUTH.... God says... MANY ARE CALLED FEW ARE CHOSEN... There are many places in the Bible where God talks about the two WAYS... One is wide and leads to destruction with MANY on this way, the other is narrow and few are on that. Then God says if a brother sin against us we should tell him his trespass, and if the brother hear thee, thou hast GAINED A BROTHER..... I LOVE this verse... GAIN A BROTHER.... MAn that is so REWARDING and PURE and HOLY, and SPECIAL... I would LOVE to GAIN A BROTHER EVERYDAY!

I would like us to concentrate more on the NARROW way. The broad way takes up so much of our tme it feels like we do not get past the BROAD WAY...

The whole world lieth in iniquity, and God says: Eph 5:3... But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;
Eph 5:4 Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.
Eph 5:5 For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
Eph 5:6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.
Eph 5:7 Be not ye therefore partakers with them.

So let us advance in the TALKING OF THE CHILDREN OF OBEDIENCE.... Let us get to how we are baptized with Holy Spirit in 2013.... How can I get saved, and delivered from temptation...
 
Peace be with you, in simple understanding let us ponder on what is the simple meaning of 'create'. Out of one's wisdom and skill they made something that others cannot make. When others try, they cannot make exactly as the maker's.
What is the meaning of all this?
From the book of Genesis to the book of Revelation, is it written anywhere that GOD created evil?
In the beginning GOD created all and all was Good and Holy and then HE rested.
Then who did then?
Did not evil sprout out from creation itself until today, encouraged by it's founder himself, who was called lucifer first and then satan?
he is the master of them all and cannot change
May GOD the FATHER of our LORD JESUS CHRIST bless you with spirit and truth..
