Let us go back to the OP...
Galatians 3:10-12 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.
But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.
And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.
The Galatian letter was written to Christians. These Christians were in danger of adding works of the law to what they already had...the Gospel msg. and the Holy Spirit in order to continue in a right standing before God. Throughout the letter Paul exposes this faulty approach of the Judaizers.
There are other ways of 'keeping the commands of Christ' than to stare at 10 or 600+ commands on paper and then going off with one's self will or dragging the Holy Spirit alongside as a bellhop helper.
The other is called fruit of the Spirit which is a work God does within the believer as we abide in HIM. It is described here...
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
(Gal 5:22-25)
Of course the law of God (His Character) is written on our hearts. If it was not for the abiding old nature we would perfectly reflect God's character, but 'til that Day there is a battle where...
For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
(Gal 5:17)
But to try and continually live in one's own power even 'using' the Holy Spirit to 'win' your battles to do the law will end up in defeat and despair with the results the 'works of the flesh' which are these...
Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
(Gal 5:19-21)
