Again Homwardbound, not only was the original Hebrew and Greek texts inerrant and perfect, but so is the English Bible which we have today, which is the King James Authorized Version.
Okay, I get the picture and understanding from reading the text here of what it is trying to get across, but remember Homwardbound, Satan is subtil, he will give you 90 to 98% truth and then bring in his lies, because that way, he can deceive more people. Rat poison is about 98-99% good, edible food with about 1% or less poison in it.
Yep that's perfect. That is exactly how the text reads. It is talking about how when a person get's saved, he is now a new creature in Christ Jesus. He is a changed person. And the ministry of reconciliation is basically going out and witnessing to the lost. And getting them saved by the preaching of the Gospel. Hence we have the ministry of reconciliation. And we also have the word of reconciliation since God hath committed it unto us. Therefore we are now ambassadors for the Lord Jesus Christ and whatsoever we do, we should do it to glorify Him and to we should do it to the glory of God.
Well, I can still get the meaning of what the passage is trying to say. But there is one issue I have here, and that is they remove the phrase: "if any man be in Christ." They changed it to "when a man becomes a new creature in Christ." You see, now it is a process. Now is sanctification a process? Absolutely. But the real Bible says: Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new (2 Cor. 5:17). In other words, the man is automatically a new creature. And of course, he will still struggle in the flesh as we know Paul did (See Romans 7), but the point here is, the text doesn't say when a man becomes a new creature in Christ. The true text says, If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature.
There is also an issue here Homwardbound, they alter the text again. And they alter it greatly. Notice the previous example which I gave you. The Scriptures declare that if a person is in Christ, then they are a new creature. The Message translation does not say "In Christ." The Message says "and we see that anyone united with the Messiah." So no longer does someone have to be in Christ, they just have to be united with Him. That may not seem like a big change to you Homwardbound, but it is a big change in terms of Doctrine.
Now in a sense are we united with Christ? Well in a way you could consider that to be so, but still that is not what the Bible says. The Bible teaches that if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature.
When a person gets saved, two main miraculous things happen at once. 1) That person is baptized into the Body of Christ and becomes bone of His bone and flesh of His flesh. (See 1 Corinthians 12:12-14, 27 & Ephesians 5:30). And 2) That person is sealed with the Holy Spirit of God unto the Day of Redemption ( See Ephesians 1:13 and also Ephesians 4:30).
So when the Message translation changes the phrase: "If any man be in Christ" to "anyone united with Christ" they are changing important Bible Doctrine. Okay? You have to be in Christ to be His.
Well again, I can see the overall message even in the NLT but the point is, it is not as strong as the King James Bible.
It is so watered down, I mean when you read these new and modern translations, it doesn't even sound like your reading the Bible! Well that's because the modern translations are false bibles. Remember they may have a lot of truth in them, but they do not have the whole truth.
Plus the NLT removes a biblical term like "Flesh." And replaces it with the term "Human." Human is not a Bible word. Human does not appear anywhere in the Authorized King James Bible.
Also, remember this verse Homwardbound:
A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump. - Galatians 5:9 (Holy Bible)
Yes Homwardbound, that passage of Scripture is talking about our Spiritual condition and standing after we accept Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Saviour. That is what that passage of Scripture is teaching. It is teaching us that we are all one in Christ Jesus. That is our spiritual standing in Christ. So if a gentile gets saved, he is now a Christian. And if a Jew gets saved, he also is now a Christian. There is no distinction in the Church Age. But there will be a distinction in the time of Jacob's trouble. Which will take place after the Rapture of the Body of Christ.
Now Homwardbound, having addressed each of those responses of yours now, I want to show you some of the leaven and distortions of the Scriptures that are contained within the modern bible versions.
How do we know truth by the spirit of God or by man's translations, and I think KJV version a good translation, but could not understand until God by the resurrected Christ showed me what born again is, that being dead to sin by Christ at the cross and risen to new life as Christ was risen, thus being born of the Spirit of God that was lost when Adam and Eve ate from the tree of evil. I call it evil only, because that is exactly what it is, the good part that people talk of is not good, that part masquerades as good, when as Christ said only God is good
Anyway, thanks for your side of what you see, it helps to us both to see truth, I just do not see any Bible translation as a perfect translation, for instance the word Church is not an original translation? Church means buildiing and this word Church was translated from the word Ecclesia, which means the called out ones, not building. And if one looks in Acts where Stephan was stoned to death by the clergy. Ask why they stoned him to death? Because he said God does not reside in buildings. Now Saul saw this Stephan go to his death willingly and say Father forgive them they do not know what they do.
Man over the years again interfers with God's full truth, setting up places to go and worship, using the word Church as if God today is going to be there if God were here on earth to day Hebrews 8:1-4 is the truth of where the true tabernacle is at and the reason God would not be in any worship service here today if God were here today in the flesh as he was back then, he was where? out in the highways and by ways. People weren't attending service they were wanting to go whereever Christ was at and hear him, see the miracles that was performed through him.
So what killed Christ? Was it possibly the flesh in concern worry over Job security? HMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! no one going to service, no money, HMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! we got to get rid of him you think.
Man has done his best to translate the word to keep a need in the laymen, so we have to go to a place and give.
Now I asked one time a Pastor that was great with the word, I asked are you getting paid? He said yes. I said will you go for the next year doing what you do now without pay? Well you might know the answer. And I am not saying that preachers do not have the right. I am saying the Gospel full has been hurt to the point that when I ask another laymen, Do you know what Christ did for you? The answer I usually get is yes, he died for me. I then ask what did his resurrection do? And ususlly most are stumped only having recieved a half sham Gospel, and still in need of life, which is proivided from God as a gift by the resurrection. Because without the resurrection we are to pitied of all people as Paul said in 1 cor 15
So the truth is out here in this world today, but not the whole truth, the full Gospel, I find most only focused on the death, and death is not life. The resurrection of christ is life and is not talked about enough to see what John 10:10 actually was meant by Christ, he came to give us life. How by the flesh? No by the resurrection where life is, in God in the Spirit of God. Born again, dead to sin and alive to God
