Is born again a mental or physical condition? Many Christians are taught that born again is a change of mind, is it?
I will start off with this verse from Peter then I will head to Jesus conversation with Nicodemus.
1 Peter 1:22-24 KJV
[22] Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently: [23] Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. [24] For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:
Being born again of a incorruptible seed? Everyone one who is flesh is corrupt!
At the first resurrection or judgement day is when some and all will remove this corruptible flesh
Not many people take into consideration ; that the Bible was not translated from the English , but from Greek, where this verse is used. And some times, it was not translated well. Some times it was just transliterated, meaning they found the corresponding letters in the English , and found the closest kin word.. That may not have taken into account a understanding of what the passage was really about .
John 3:1-21
King James Version (KJV)
3 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.
3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born
again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
4 Nicodemus saith unto him,
How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be
born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
English - AGAIN :
Greek meaning =
G509
ἄνωθεν
anōthen
an'-o-then
From
G507 ;
from above ; by analogy from the first ; by implication anew: -
from {above} {again} from the beginning
(very {first}) the top.
G507
ἄνω
anō
an'-o
Adverb from G473 ;
upward or on the top: - {above} {brim} {high} up.
This clearly shows, what this word actually is in The Greek. It is not the English word again. It is the Greek word for Above.
Christ is saying, in order to even participate , in salvation, you have to be born from above. Meaning just what the scriptures say. We come from God, who gave our Soul to begin with. That is where we are from.
Just as Christ was with God in the beginning, so were we when God created us.. God's said to Jeremiah ,and others :" Jeremiah 1:5
Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations."
This among other scriptures, documents, where people are born from. From above.
If you become familiar with those scriptures, then you'll understand that verse better.
again is actually = above. And that water, is the water that is in the womb of the mother a child is born into.
