There is a story that reminds me of this, I'll rephrase it.

There once was a father who was teaching his son about life. He told his son, "There is a fight going on inside me."

"It is a terrible fight and its between two wolves. One is evil - he is anger, jealousy, self-will, lust, deception, and sorrow. The other is good - he is joy, peace, love, humility, truth and faith. The same fight is going on inside you - and inside every other person, too."

The boy thought about it and asked, "Which wolf will win?"

The father replied, "The one you feed."

Hey that's a great teaching, ....Jesus and Satan are both wolves.....

Made possible by the cross and not our own works or so called law keeping. No man can keep law. Thats why Jesus came and sacrificed Himself that those who have faith in the cross would be saved.

1 Corinthians 9:21 To them that are without law, as without law, ( being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law.

God bless

1 Corinthians 9:21 To them that are without law, as without law, ( being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law.

A most excellent verse. Notice what it says. Paul didn't bring the law of Moses to those who were without the law of Moses, but he became as one not having the law of Moses in hopes of winning to Christ those who were without the law of Moses. And those who he won to Christ who were without the law of Moses weren't without law to GOD because they were subject to the law of Christ.

I don't know what to think now. My whole foundation is crumbling. Paul murdered and lied and stole and committed adultery to win over these people. I am so confused!

NOT!

That would explain romans 2:14-15

Romans 2:14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:

Romans 2:15 Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)

King David in a psalms explains the same thing

Psalm 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.

There is no excuse for a unbeliver or a sinner, the Book of romans clearly explains it deeper. As the lawless knowing they deserve death for the things they Do, not only continue to do them, they enjoy doing it.

and again the scripture say in another place

Romans 1:32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

Those in Christ Jesus are not lawless they follow the Law of Faith

Romans 3:27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.

Faith in Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior till the end scripture says, But we are not of those who shrink back to destruction, but of those who have faith to the preserving of the soul

Matthew 24:13 But the one who endures to the end will be saved.

Hope i did not derail your thread .

God bless

I like what God Almighty did to Saul/Paul

I like when i read how Saul himself had a reprobate mind ,and God used him as a example for many out there. It is very interesting how God used a vessel for dishonor and turn it into a vessel to honor Acts 9:15, after all He is the potter.

When The Lord Change Saul to Paul ,and made him a new Creation , it shows the mercy God has for not only Paul but all of us.

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

God Bless

The "Once Saved, Always Saved" doctrine is blasphemous. People who believe in the OSAS doctrine are performing blasphemy because THEY believe that regardless of what they do, they WILL be going to Heaven and God's opinion does NOT even matter.

so after receiving salvation soon as we make a sin we have to repent again and be born again over and over and over again? yea that makes sense.. and please show me anywhere in the scripture that says salvation is NOT eternal.

brother josh321...

one is not born again over and over and over... once born again sealed always...

but you must truly be born again and sealed by the holy spirit... king saul is a perfect example and so are all the other sons and daughters of god... none were ever perfect and deserved god... but they were sealed with the holy spirit and they were saved always for god saw no fault because he saw his son and the sacrifice before the foundation of all creation.

didn't the prophet samuel say the same thing to saul when king saul saught him when he visited the witch of endor... what did the prophet say to king saul... once sealed always sealed...

if this isn't true then god's own holy word is a lie and we shouldn't follow it...

ephesians 4:30
[SUP]30. [/SUP]And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

i also wanted to make this so the legalist can maybe understand a little more about grace, and when we are under the grace of God we cannot go astray, and some of you considered us " lawless " because we said we are under grace and not under law
Someone who listens to the law and attempts to live within it is NOT a legalist! That is a person who loves God, and knows God. A legalist is someone who goes through the motions of obedience without love or understanding law.

Being under grace has nothing to do with going astray or not going astray. God is exact in His explanation of Grace. Because God's forgiveness is something only God can do or give that word is used to explain our forgiveness by God.

When we don't know God so we can go to Him for forgiveness, then we are under law, for then the law will condemn us to death. When we are under grace, we can go to Christ for forgiveness. This truth does not affect the truth that God asks us to be obedient. Some people think God tells them that because he forgives them when they ask, it means they don't have to listen to anything God says, we are exempt from any direction. That is not what not being under law means.

i also personally experienced this and i believe this is why there is eternal security also, i'll explain 1 Corinthians 6:19

King James Version (KJV)

19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

so after being filled with the holy spirit it is no longer our body but the body of Christ but what happens when we allow our flesh to take control and we start sinning wilfully again? what would God do to bring us back to him to where we were?Hebrews 10:26-27

King James Version (KJV)

26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

what well this very thing happen to me yesterday... i got carried away and forgot that this is the body of christ and i somehow got persuaded to drink... and as God notice that i was sinning wilfully something came over me i use to suffer from anxiety attacks that happen to me when i use to smoke but i wasn't smoking just sinning wilfully and i was wondering why this was happening and it gradually keep getting worst and worst and i was getting paranoid at everything until it got to a point where i couldn't take it anymore and i was on a bus going home and i cried out to God for help and he anwsered back, that same scripture came into my head as i cried out to God " fearful look at judgement" then i saw a flash back of myself of what i was doing throughout the day i know that was God and when i understood what i had done i ask God to forgive me and cleanse me from this feeling and it immediately went away and i came back to God once again, i believe this is a sign of eternal security some may not agree but i don't think God will allow his children to just stray away without scolding them remember he is our father and what did our parents do to us when we misbehave? they straightened us out and made us humble it's the same thing with God.

Please though Josh, just be careful to the mixing of flesh self and the Spirit of God.
So tell me if you sin again and all sin is willful. do you have to ask God to forgive you all over again? I am not trying to bring in a go ahead and sin idea, as in taking this forgiveness for granted as the Corinthians did. Rather an amazing appreciation to learn from Father how to walk as Son walked in the leading of Father through the Holy Spirit of Father sent to us, from Christ after the ascension.
There is a major difference at least to me, just wondering how you see this. I today Forgiveness ongoing as was in the first Testament? I know the animal sacrifices are over, and there is no mo0re shedding of Blood for sins to be covered.
So since that is true, how can one get more forgiveness without the sacrifice and shedding of blood? I mean I ask and I do not get, why? I mean with no shedding of blood how can I get anymore?

Anyone truly under grace cannot be lawless because any time he or she falters the conscience, convicted by the Holy Spirit, will bring remorse, knowing a law has been broken, and this remorse leads to immediate repentance.

Would this be for more forgiveness or for to learn from Father how to walk in dependence as Christ did walk perfectly?
Are we to walk as Christ walked and what is the only way one can? Just curious to your take on this?

Thinking that you will never sin again is ridiculous.
There is no such thing as being "saved" until the day that you die - and THEN God decides whether you are worthy of going to Heaven or not.
The "Once Saved, Always Saved" doctrine is blasphemous. People who believe in the OSAS doctrine are performing blasphemy because THEY believe that regardless of what they do, they WILL be going to Heaven and God's opinion does NOT even matter.

So then how do we then deal wit this verse:
Colossians 1:22 in the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:

I have not been able to figure out how to improve on the above verse can you or anyone else?
Therefore I put the context together in this and see it is by trust (Faith) n the finished work of Christ unto Father.
Read it if you continue in the Faith (belief)
[h=3]Colossians 1:21-23[/h]Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

[SUP]21 [/SUP]And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled [SUP]22 [/SUP]in the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight: [SUP]23 [/SUP]if ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;

no but the point was i was sinning wilfully... and God dealt with me for it and that judgement led me to repentance

To clarify if I may Josh. Did that lead to obey Law and God to be pleased by you not drinking anymore or to trust God to teach you how to walk by Faith in God through Christ and not drink anymore?
Is there a big difference I think and see there is, at least for me, for I know I was an Alcoholic around 28 years ago, and know that is God that has past tense And God alone that has delivered me. All credit to God for this.
If it had not been God that did this for me, then after the last episode in the emergency room a little over a year ago, I would have gone back to the self medication of the bottle, but as Job I will not curse god over any bad things that come my way, period and that is final for me at least.
I think this is true with you too
Anyway thanks for reading this, just curious to your take on this in the interest of growth

A clean conscience is what it's all about.

And Christ in and what he did for us through the cross cleansed my conscious and led me to learn to trust God to show me error from truth, which today has set me free to be in Father by Christ who paved the way to set me to walk by Faith in trusting Father to do in me what I can't ever do in self
Through Christ's death we are made Holy to Father presented to Father this way. so we can have the new life he, Christ came to give us, as in John 10:10. Yet we all have the fight going on so which one are we going to feed, as the other poster said. Which wolf
I choose trust and since then it has been not easy to get self out of the way, until I started dying to self daily, I started seeing the new life given to me from Father by the resurrected Christ not the dead Christ.
Anyone listening, and Thank you if are or not

drinking is not a sin... getting drunk is a sin

I know and am convinced that today after the cross all things are cleansed. so in truth it is what I do with it that either keeps it clean or disrupts it.
Therefore to him that this is sin to him it is sin, so please do not destroy others over being arrogant as in I can do just whatever I want and flaunt it in the others face.
Give each other Love, not condemnation over whether one is right or wrong in what they do or don't do
God's servants are and will come to stand by God doing the teaching not man.
Man can only plant and or water, God is the one and only that gives the increase true or false?

Was king david under grace or law ?

He was under law looking forward to the coming Messiah and said the below about Christ foreseeing the redemption
Psalm 100:4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
So by Faith he was counted as righteous before Father, and did as Father led to do, same with Abraham, Noah, Sarah, Jacob, Isaac, Moses and many more Saints by Faith.
Today we look back as then they looked forward

Job 19:25 For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:

Grace holy spirit and the law are one spirit
the spirit of love for others
I can not understand why all the wicked want to nail the law of love for others to a tree
and say love is noo longer binding
that is silly
just like me.
Gods law of love is binding still
with love for God and man to fill
I cannot dream nor even see
why love you'd nail now to a tree
its beyond me
the enemy has confused
and abused
and contused
our brains so we call evil good and good evil
But plead the prayer to god to give
ask God like David love to fill
and this prayer he will answer still
and take the law of love for me
and take it off that awful tree
and show the love to others, see,
and help and work and christians be

the law of love is binding binding binding and always will be.
thank God for all eternity

and fortunately
for sinners who love to hurt others
they will have to repent
and folllow the law
or perish.

What if I feel like taking my neighbors possessions from him by force?

Now you are going to say that a converted person with the Spirit of God would never think such things. Ho, Ho, Ho...

Rom 7:14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.
Rom 7:15 For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.
Rom 7:16 If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good.
Rom 7:17 Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
Rom 7:18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.
Rom 7:19 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.
Rom 7:20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
Rom 7:21 I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.
Rom 7:22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:
Rom 7:23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.

Paul thought these things and so did the Lord's brother James...

Jas 4:5 Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?

Now, if those guys had desires to sin, I don't feel all alone when I have to fight against those evil desires.

That was the explanation of Flesh that wants its own way and the way of god through the Spirit of God.
so choose today to what way you are to be? Dead to flesh by Christ's death to flesh and see the new life in the Spirit a free gift to those that believe?
Or just continue in flesh self effort and hiding behind closed doors as many are doing today. Acting as if when they do not have, and many are truly trying to have
For I know no man that can have two faces one to the crowd and the other to self, without eventually becoming perplexed as to which one is true, and then the conscious opportunity is then to be made as to whether one believes God as I need God or not

Wondering hwhat a once saved always saved church's ideal heaven would be like...
You can live between the unrepentant rapist and the serial killer...
I am sure your eternity would be more like hell.

Those that have been shown the truth while still here are dead to flesh sin, alive to God and are no longer citizens here on earth. We are Citizens of Heaven thanks to Christ's finished work for us. Ask God for God's Mercy and see truth that sets you free, praying so

And you have made grace your god hmmm

Please go and learn this
Matthew 9:13 But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
Matthew 12:7 But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless.
God does just love us, this is a fact. Praying you receive this, truth

1 Corinthians 11:31-32

But if we judged ourselves rightly, we would not be judged. 32But when we are judged, we are disciplined by the Lord so that we will not be condemned along with the world.

God Bless

I am Judged of no man, I do not even Judge myself. God is the one and we each know in ourselves whether we are of the Faith or not. Thank you
