:/ that's not what we're saying .
In effect, it sure seems to be what a lot of people are saying. Especially, that wisdom cannot possibly be shared with a teen outside of the Singles Forum. ( "Oh, give me a break..." ;) )

All I'm saying is I'd like to see these young ladies stay around. They are a blessing.
Well, of course. I understand that. I agree. I enjoy them, too! :D

.. end of story.
Almost. Not quite. There are principles involved here...

The point that I am trying to make is - I believe a thread like 'Streams of Consciousness & Thoughts~~~' could be enjoyed just-as-much in the Family Forum as it is in the Singles Forum.

I do not believe that we should get so "hung up" on / over a particular forum to the point that it defines our fellowship. The fellowship should be just as "sweet" in every forum without contention. It should be about the people, not about the forum.

:)

There is a solution for this...
Are you presenting one?
I will...

That is - I plan to - a little later on...

:)
Lord willing - I will try to address this later tonight after I get home from work.

Please take notice that I have not yet voted in the poll. There is a very good reason for this.

Also, I would like to make some suggestions. However, it will take me some time to write them into a post...

Its not very difficult to guess who that person was that first brought this idea up.

I say No. For the reasons I posted in the other thread:

If it's because the topics get "too mature" for teens, I don't see that in the Singles forum, or if I do see it, it's either the same or worse in the Teen or Family forums.

If it's because they aren't "really single", then neither are the married people who post in this forum, and no one really seems to be against them posting here.

I've seen teens post "teenager-y" stuff here in the Singles, and the responses usually are "This may be better in the Teens forum", and that person usually goes and posts it in Teens forum, and then the topic falls off the Singles front page
As well as the fact that people will still make fake accounts, either saying they're older than they are so they can get into the Singles forum, or that they're younger than they are so they can post in the Teens where adults seldom visit.

For those who say Yes...can you please explain why? I see a lot of people voting "Yes" but not listing their reasons here.

About a quarter of the people voting yes I've never seen post in the Singles Forum before, to be completely honest.

I noticed that, too. In the first 24 hours, less than 20 people had voted, all regulars. Then in the last 12, suddenly there's 80 votes, and easily half of them are people who haven't participated in Singles since March. (Unless it's the "What are you listening to now?" thread that I don't read.)

Wait, that thread's still goin'?? Wowzers.

But yeah...for a while the no's were ahead, then it got tied, and then, out of nowhere, the votes for the yes's went up about 10% more than the no's (about 60% have voted yes, 40% are saying it's a no-go).

The recording cuts off about 30 seconds in... right at the point where you begin to go over things. For me at least? Was anyone else able to hear the rest?

Dang....... had that problem before. Doesn't happen to me though. Well it ain't so important to hear me, but I'm lazy to type so much.

In any case I'd like to fix that problem in case we need to use any mp3 in the future. Let me see what I can do.

Oops meant to re-open the thread. Now it's open.

Grace-Like-Rain can you help me troubleshoot? :D

Do this if you don't mind and let me know the result:

Right-mouse click on that link to download the mp3 instead of streaming it. Then after you download it, simply play the file. Then let me know if it plays all the way through or not, so I can determine if the problem is with the file or simply streaming the file from the server. Coz I would like to know exactly what the problem is, for future reference. Thanks :)

(I had no issues, Robo. I actually streamed it fine, then I d/l it and emailed it to Gracie.)

I was able to download it from your link with the entire recording intact. Hope that helps! I've been told that others were able to hear it all directly from the link. Thanks!

SUMMARY OF MY AUDIO

1. The initial suggestion seems to be very much because of a 14-year-old who was posting quite a lot in the Christian Singles Forum, acting a lot older than 14.

2. That person turned out to be fake, and is probably actually a lot older than 14, and has since been banned, for being fake (and apparently juggling multiple fake identities).

3. At this point there's no rule, and maybe no need to make a rule, but as a policy we reserve the right to ask any person to post in more age or status appropriate forums (e.g, if a 13 or 14 year old is posting excessively in the Christian Singles Forum and we deem it best, or if it would make our jobs easier, to ask them to post in other forums)

I hope that makes sense :)

Thanks for all the input.

May I withdraw? :D

I, as well, am listening from a mobile device and had no problems with the link.

I just wanted to say I highly respect the decision made, but would have had they deemed the rule effective. I appreciate the sincerity for the benefit of CC's members evidenced by Robo and entirely agree with their having the domain to forbid 13/14 year olds from excessive participation in the Singles Forum. I, too, respect every opinion expressed here.

Boy, am I glad this ruckus is over. Whew.

Not until you've explained your accent, which bounces from elements of MN/WI to OK/AR within the same sentence. Did you move to a different region of the country every year you were growing up or something???
