Why are you attacking me? Why are you changing what I said? Have I wronged you in some way?
I did not say the saved person would not think to sin. I said the new person is a changed person, and will not be trying to Break Covenant.

I could have said, will be trying to not sin. To avoid sinning. Not trying, or working at deliberately Breaking Covenant. This is the same thing. Why didn't you listen to me with an open heart?

I never said we do not think to sin or that we do not sin, because we all know that we all do. Are you saying you do not sin? One of the signs of a saved person is their increased sensitivity to their sin. If you know the Law, you know you do not keep it. Or do you think you do?

If you love God as He has ordered you to do, why do you seek to find some faults in me? I have many of them. Do you have a plan to put me back together again after you have torn me down? I am sorry for not loving you the same way I am asking for your love. There must be a way to love that is separate from Legislation ordering it. If I order you to love me, will it make you love me?

But you are in a position to judge your own standing.
Do you love God and others as you are commanded to? That is what I asked. I understand you can not know my heart, but you do know your own. Do you love God enough and others enough?

Warm fuzzies?
Why are you demeaning my communications? I am asking directly about Love.
Is this what it is to love the members of Christ's Church?
Jesus commanded His people to love one another. Do you consider the love He placed in my heart Warm Fuzzies, are you saying the love He gave me for Himself and His people won't make it?

What do you mean? I don't love enough.

So when you say love is all we need and someone disagrees they are attacking you? I have yet to see you post scripture showing your position. All you have posted so is "everybody is picking on me". Over and out.

The term "Warm fuzzies" is a general statement of love that stokes the ego, and the feelings minus the obligation of real agape love. Loving God's way is having the heart to separate others from the things that separate them from God.

Sin is the separator.
Exhortation is the premise.

2 Timothy 4:2-4 (KJV)
[SUP]2 [/SUP]Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
[SUP]3 [/SUP]For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
[SUP]4 [/SUP]And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

Keep in mind that all the writers of the New Testament, only had Old Testament, as we know it, to prove the gospel truth. If they could prove the truth by it, we are even better equip to spread the gospel because we have both. It's too bad that they seemed to do better than we do today with less. Or is it because we don't use the assets of the Old Testament?

You are reading into his post something that is not there. That scripture applies to all. We are 100% carnal before conversion, but we are not 100% spiritual after conversion. It is a process of overcoming carnal attitudes and growing in grace and knowledge...

2Pe 3:18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

Remember Paul said this twenty some years after his conversion...

Rom 7:14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.
Rom 7:15 For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.
Rom 7:16 If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good.
Rom 7:17 Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
Rom 7:18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.
Rom 7:19 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.
Rom 7:20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
Rom 7:21 I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.
Rom 7:22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:
Rom 7:23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
Rom 7:24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?

I have been reading the many threads, not just the one post.
I know what Paul said, and this is why I joined a Christian Discussion forum: 2Pe 3:18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.
That is what I said.
To strengthen my faith in the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and grow in grace. I understand that primarily meaning love.
If I love God because He gave His Son for me and saved me though I deserve hell, I do not want to sin against Him.
If I love God, I know He has said that He wants me to love others, and leave the Judging to Him.
I understand you said you are fighting against false doctrine, and this is a good thing to do. But you were honest only moments ago and said you know you are not righteous.

If you know you are not righteous, how do you know are you handling the Law correctly?
You seek to be justified by the Law, but do you not know what The Law says?

So why did you write about warm fuzzies in response to my communications about Love, the context of God and neighbor?
What is the obligation of real agape love? Do you believe you have an obligation in the name of real agape love to tell me the love of God the Holy Spirit has given me is ego or some other terrible thing? Do you not know that Christians have the Spirit of God in them and you demean expressions of that by your words?

I know the Old Testament. I have read many writings here, where persons who have a knowledge of the Old Testament believe this makes them judges or teachers, or somehow more saved or more sanctified than others.

Are you reproving rebuking and exhorting me when I am posting about love? You said "Keep in mind that all the writers of the New Testament, only had Old Testament, as we know it, to prove the gospel truth. " But that is not entirely true. In fact it is not true at all. They received the gospel Message directly from the Lord God. They confirmed the fulfillment of that promise of Good News through the ancient scriptures they all knew, to be sure. I am not certain you know what the Good News is if you think it is found through the Old Testament, or more precisely in the Law. The Promise was there, in Types and Progressive Revelation by God, but the Fulfillment came in the person of Jesus Christ in the Land of Israel thousands of years ago.

The encounter with Jesus on the Road to Emmaus is a good New Testament teaching.

keren I endorse this scripture, for salvation is continuous dying to ourselves daily through His Word. It's an everlasting statute from the physical temple worship to the spiritual temple worship within ourselves. Same principles. It's a parable of sorts,........... an allegory. It does take effort on our part. verse 3

1 John 3:1-3 (KJV)
[SUP]1 [/SUP]Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
[SUP]2 [/SUP]Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
[SUP]3 [/SUP]And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

1 John 3:1-3 (CJB)
1
See what love the Father has lavished on us in letting us be called God's children! For that is what we are. The reason the world does not know us is that it has not known him.
2 Dear friends, we are God's children now; and it has not yet been made clear what we will become. We do know that when he appears, we will be like him; because we will see him as he really is.
3 And everyone who has this hope in him continues purifying himself, since God is pure.

So when you say love is all we need and someone disagrees they are attacking you? I have yet to see you post scripture showing your position. All you have posted so is "everybody is picking on me". Over and out.

Well, no I have been trying to post from my position at this time. But so far you have changed twice what I said to make it say something it did not. I hvae been reading these writings here, and you have the inclination to do this to everyone. Posting multitudes of passages from the law is not making you righteous. It is pointing out your sin. Having admitted you are not righteous, I am wondering why you continue to act as though you are.

Asking you prove to me that you Love God and your neighbor, in so doing you are fulfilling the whole Law is not fair. Since I can not see your works. I have read that you do not appear to believe the New Covenant is in full force yet and that the Old is completely fulfilled by Christ, His Covenant being far superior. I may have misunderstood you, and I apologize if I have.
Lastly, what do you mean I have said Love is all we need? I will clarify for you if you ask, but please do not put words in my mouth. This is breaking the Law when you do it, but I understand the inclination to do it.

I endorse that as well. Thank you.
Growing in grace and the knowledge of Jesus Christ makes it possible.
And that growth is encouraged and brought about by the work of the Spirit in the Christian. I believe my focus is first on the Good News, as your passage says, See what love the Father has lavished on us in letting us be called God's children! For that is what we are. And having been reconciled, now having peace with God through His Own work on our behalf while we dead in trespasses, with the Spirit effectively working means we desire to purify ourselves. Is there any place or thing we are called to do that Love is not involved? I do not believe The Lord fails.

Can't agree more sis. Where so many get offended is when the Law is mentioned as a thing that is still relevant. Not in the flesh, but being the same in parable through the Holy Spirit. Jesus is the Word, and He came before the Holy Spirit was sent. We always need something to try the Spirits to see whether they are from God or not. Without the Word, there is no way to know. God has never reconnoitered. There is one plan that was finalized before creation.

Malachi 3:6 (KJV)
[SUP]6 [/SUP]For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.

Hebrews 13:8 (KJV)

Never forget that Jesus was on Mount Sinai.:o

Colossians 1:12-19 (KJV)
[SUP]12 [/SUP]Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
[SUP]13 [/SUP]Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
[SUP]14 [/SUP]In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
[SUP]15 [/SUP]Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
[SUP]16 [/SUP]For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
[SUP]17 [/SUP]And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
[SUP]18 [/SUP]And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
[SUP]19 [/SUP]For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;

I would ask all to go back to post # 149 and read through several posts concerning the right way to see the Old and the New covenant. If God doesn't change, and Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever, what was the change? The change certainly is not with the Father and the Son. Read and find out that the Old needs to come first so the New will have effect. The beauty is that the New continues to renew because of the continuing Old. His ways are far above ours.

1 Kings 8:58 (KJV)
[SUP]58 [/SUP]That he may incline our hearts unto him, to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and his statutes, and his judgments, which he commanded our fathers.

Lamentations 3:40 (KJV)
[SUP]40 [/SUP]Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the LORD.

Isaiah 55:8-9 (KJV)
[SUP]8 [/SUP]For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
[SUP]9 [/SUP]For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Hi Keren, Honestly, I just went over all your posts because of the prompt you gave in this post. Reason being, you laid down a challenge, and well, kinda hard to resist a challenge...but who am I to find fault with you. I could have said any of those things too.

Really though, I had a neat little thing to share, coincidentally, I've been looking at meanings of names lately. Keren stuck in my mind because it is close to my name. Anyhow, Keren in Hebrew means shofar, as in, announcing something, a heed warning, etc. Anyhow, thought I'd pass that on since I just found it the other day.:)~k

Hello Karraster; Thank you for writing. I did not lay down a challenge, I asked a specific person to rectify their false witness.
But having gone through my posts, did you find anything where I said the Christian has no responsibility? I said no one can save themselves. Salvation is of the Lord. This needs to be addressed eventually since it has been spoken, and it is false.

What do you mean "but who am I to find fault with you. I could have said any of those things too."? What things? Was there something to find fault with? There no doubt is, but what did you see that I might do better. Thank you.

That is very interesting about the shofar. Thanks for passing that on and thank you for your kind words. Thank you for writing. Blessings to you, in the Lord. May His love and kindness shine through you, and may you continue to build up those who like you have been brought near to Him by grace.
Keren:)

"The beauty is that the New continues to renew because of the continuing Old"
The Old testament writings? the Law and the prophets?
Not the Old Covenant. That is wrong.
Because the Bible is clear the Old Covenant has been folded up and put away like an old garment, the New is entirely New. The same God, a New, completely new and far superior Covenant.

If the New Covenant is not what The Lord has done for me, that I could never do for myself, I do not know what it is. I am helpless to save myself. I only know to be grateful to Jesus Christ. This is all I can do.

How do I break the Covenant? I can only be grateful. I do not have correct words to explain what that is like. But if there is something I must do in the New Covenant to save myself, I do not know what it is.

I am not talking about “saving” yourself, just our humble responsibility as God requires.

Thank you for attempting to clarify. But The Holy Spirit brings dead people to life, and the new person is a changed person, and will not be trying to Break Covenant. I do not understand why so many people here use the threat of commandments on other Christians. I need you to love me and believe the best about me and build me up, not frighten me with the Law I know the Bible says can not save me. Jesus Christ died and rose to bring me to God eternally and my response is astonishment and gratitude. Why do you want me to live in fear again? I can not save myself. I can not obey all of God's commandments all the time even though I want to. Are you saying that you can and do? Are you a Covenant Breaker? I do not understand this. I only understand love.

I did not say that you said Christians have no responsibility. It is the tone of your comments and the lack of knowledge to do anything else that you expressed that makes me think you have been deceived and not taught real truth. There is much more false teaching out there than truth, and many people are deceived because of that, and not just new Christians. Your comment, “I do not understand this. I only understand love” is another giveaway. Real love is NOT what the world considers it. Real love teaches, strives to learn, and has an attitude of humility, which is very short supply these days, even in cc.

Did you post that to say that I am carnally minded and in the flesh? or as the post you recommended said "pleasing to God"?
I just wanted to know if you believe you are more pleasing to God than I am? Do you love God and do you love others more than I do? Or more than other people do? How do you know? I said my response to the Good News was astonishment and gratitude, and that I joined to strengthen my faith in Jesus Christ, and to experience the love from His people and to try to love them also. Is this presenting myself as a living sacrifice? Is this pleasing to God or is there something more I must so? I am sinning by being where I am? Are you accusing me, or loving me and believing the best of me? I'm just asking because I am reading some terrible things said here, worse than things I hear among those who do not believe. And it seems to be about the Law. Is this the right way to handle the Law? I need to grow in love.

But you are in a position to judge your own standing.
Do you love God and others as you are commanded to? That is what I asked. I understand you can not know my heart, but you do know your own. Do you love God enough and others enough?

One of the commandments is about not bearing false witness against your neighbor. I am your neighbor.
Where did I say a Christian has no responsibility?
The Law requires you to have proof of what you say, and to make restitution when you have broken the Law.

I do know what the Law says, and in your single writing to me here, you have broken 3 commandments directly, and therefore you have broken them all.

I have only a few posts. Without changing what any of them say, could you please show me where I have indicated that I believe the Christian has no responsibilities?

One more thing you will find beneficial, is to not jump to conclusions that others are condemning or finding fault with you, and not putting words in their mouth they did not say, or accuse your elders of sin the way you did in the above post to me. IF you think you have been wronged, there is a scriptural way to go about handling it, according to Matthew 18.

Sometimes things are not what they seem, and sometimes folks are really not sincere......ah, probably just my imagination...

Ya right LOL

Arguing among the Christian ranks are not of God in any way. We denounce the Pharisees and we do the same as they did, asking leading questions for self justification.

Leviticus 26:10 (KJV)
[SUP]10 [/SUP]And ye shall eat old store, and bring forth the old because of the new.

The Old is no different than the New but only in one respect. Think about why Jesus taught in parables. He was relating the physical to the spiritual. The spiritual mind understand the relevance. The temple used to be a building made by man. Now it is a temple inside of us made by Christ. The ordinances of worship are the same, and an everlasting statute to all who believe.

Matthew 13:13-15 (KJV)
[SUP]13 [/SUP]Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
[SUP]14 [/SUP]And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:
[SUP]15 [/SUP]For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

Isaiah 6:9-11 (KJV)
[SUP]9 [/SUP]And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.
[SUP]10 [/SUP]Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed.
[SUP]11 [/SUP]Then said I, Lord, how long? And he answered, Until the cities be wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land be utterly desolate,
