1. Its a mix of my last and first name dude. Its disrespectful and demeaning.
2. I agree with your point, but you are saying Phil is doing that, which he isn't because he uses scripture to prove his points. Scripture is God's word, so he is basing his faith of off God, not becoming or claiming to be God.
3. How do you know God is using them? Maybe they think they are called, but are not. God's word doesn't support, in fact is against, women teaching, so why are you for it if God is against it. I can say God is against it because he says he is in the bible.

1. ok, first and last name, i get it. anyway, point is, I'm not disrespecting you, Histuck, I nic everyone, it's something I do, I've been on c.c. 5+ years and I've always done that. Don't like it, that's fine, . Say 'hey, don't nic me.' no problem. A few do, not many, most like my nics for them. but, yeah, that's that, youngtuck :)

2. I use Scripture to prove my points. Isaiah 55 and, most recently, in my last post, no less, 1 Corinthians 2 . No, He is claiming to be God when he claims that no woman can be used by Him to preach and teach men in a church. God can do anything He wants, Histuck.

3. They are being used ! Again, don't be naive. OK, God's Word doesn't support it, yet, there they are leading a church that was dead before they arrived and now is producing fruit. That said, do I think that the church should be searching for a man to lead the congregation that the women put in order by God's will? Yes. I do. But, again, God could have that woman pastor that church for years and years too. Again, Isaiah 55 states, 'God's ways are different than ours and thoughts are higher.' God's purpose in this world is way beyond you and I's reason. And, again, too, I agree, in MOST cases, a woman is not the best choice for a congregation, if for no other rreason, there are too many men who will not lilsten to them--which is not right--but they understand Scripture that way as an absolute and it is sad, and, i'm sure God cries :(

So what do you know about Corinth? How about the Greek culture? This is not a universal command. It is directed to a specific church, which had many problems, and Paul had to write them 4 times to try and solve their issues. (Two letters have been lost!)

I suggest you learn about context, about culture and history, before you start misquoting verses at me.

I honor God's Word in my life. But I do not honor arrogant men who have not studied, and take verses out of context to keep the gospel from being preached!
A few things on this because I have hear this side before.

1. If it was only for them, why is it in the bible?
2. If men and women are to teach, then why would Paul tell them to not have that be so? If the bible is in support of women teaching, then why does Paul say it is wrong to do so?
3. If you right this off as "just for them" then by that logic I can right all of Paul's letters off as "just for them". There goes half the NT.
4. Paul was "fixing" them. If he says to not allow women to teach men, then one of the problems was probably that they were letting women teach. If he is fixing them, and that is how he is doing it, couldn't the problem be women were teaching? And if that is thing Paul is fixing, shouldn't we fix it as well? If paul is trying to make their church better and he does it by not allowing women to teach, we should do the same.

1. Well don't with me. Also Phil told you not to either, and you did. Disrespect.
2.We agree that his thought are higher than as. So lets look at his thoughts.
[h=3]1 Timothy 2:12[/h]King James Version (KJV)

12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.

seems pretty clear. This is quoting god's word to show you truth. This isn't becoming God. Again God doesn't change, we do.

3.Now you are becoming God by saying he is calling them. How do you know he is? You don't. God makes good things out of bad situations all the time. What is to say this isn't what he is doing with all these women pastors? We quote god for our view, you look at the world. What is more reliable? The word of God, or the ways of the world?

dear sister...

you assume much about me and know nothing.

credentials means nothing to god... pharisees were very well trained and never caught it.

christian schools mean nothing to god... for even the wisest went to schools and still didn't have it.

god's holy bible; from genesis to revelation; is written just as he is... past, present, and future dear sister... same yesterday, today, and forever... every verse, every word, every chapter, every book is a past, a present, and a future... a godly divine perfect holy word of god himself.

malachi 3:6
[SUP]6 [/SUP]For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.

hebrews 13:8
[SUP]8 [/SUP]Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

n besides the point... i am very well educated in many areas of biblical history and languages... i learned i was farther from god's holy truth just as paul was... and god changed me.

all my diplomas are just paper with ink now... lost among piles of debris locked away in a closet.

sorry you feel the way you do... but sin is sin... and the sinner leading will lead those who follow to the same destination as spoken by god's own holy word.

good evening sister...

much love...

ask yourself this... paul who was trained by the best of the best... why did god have to empty him out of what he learned... because paul was in his own way of letting god in dear sister...

revelations 3:15-22
[SUP]15 [/SUP]I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
[SUP]16 [/SUP]So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
[SUP]17 [/SUP]Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
[SUP]18 [/SUP]I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
[SUP]19 [/SUP]As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
[SUP]20 [/SUP]Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
[SUP]21 [/SUP]To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
[SUP]22 [/SUP]He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

exactly how many churches are today... always compromising god's holy word.

No, tuck, Phil thought that I was being disrespectful when I called him 'philly,' but, as you now know, too, I was not. I was being 'green.' :) np, you are 'tuck,' unless you want to be called something else, 'youngtuck.' :)

Yes, those are, indeed, God's words, but, you can either realize that God's ways and thoughts are "higher" and "different" than your ways and thoughts--and, yes, that even includes the Scripture that your mere men-mind reads--or, not. The choice is yours :)

Let's add these verses, too, because I mention them in reference only:

Isaiah 55:

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the Lord.
9“As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.

And, this next verse set really does answer the 'called' question, tuck :)

1 Corinthians 2:

“What no eye has seen,
what no ear has heard,
and what no human mind has conceived”[SUP]b[/SUP] —
the things God has prepared for those who love him—

10these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit.
The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. 11For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. 12What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us. 13This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual realities with Spirit-taught words.[SUP]c[/SUP] 14The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit. 15The person with the Spirit makes judgments about all things, but such a person is not subject to merely human judgments, 16for,
“Who has known the mind of the Lord
so as to instruct him?”[SUP]d[/SUP]

But we have the mind of Christ.

I've seen churches come right to life and start growing like crazy under the guidance of dominating self proclaimed prophets who say they "don't need to engage in scriptural exegesis" and lead everyone into deception....but they grew, but they loved each other more, but they helped in the community and told people about Christ.....anyone wanna join? No? But there's growth there, so it must be the Holy Spirit, right?

But I'm not basing what I think on my thoughts, rather on God's words. This is what you fail to do here.

dear brother tucksma.

god's holy word states we are sinning if we partake in the other persons sins........................

I feel the need to say something about this. When I got saved, I had a concealed carry permit so I could carry my 45 auto pistol everywhere. I got that permit for the express purpose of being legal when I shot a drug dealer that lived across from me. It was a serious situation. I absolutely would have shot and killed him if it came to that, but it terrified me to think that by so doing I was going to, in effect, send him to hell.
God started dealing with me. I carried around the biggest load one could have, for some time. Now my dad had been an occassional preacher, so I was no stranger to God. For two weeks I was in the very bowels of despair about this. One day one of my customers, a very nice pentecostal lady, came into my shop and invited me to go to revival that was in session at her church.
I was raised in a Church of God church. But I went, and the first night I answered when the altar call was made. I accepted the Holy Ghost's invitation and it took all of a minute and a half. The preacher, also one of my customers, protested that I was getting up too soon, that I needed to stay and pray longer. I said, "brother Robert, God has been talking to me for two weeks. He and I have been over this time and again, and all that He needed from me was to repent. I did, and I am done."
I felt like I was floating when I went back to my seat. Oh that marvelous feeling of having that burden lifted!

Now I didn't get saved because I was in a pentecostal church. They had things wrong then, and still do. I got saved because I humbled myself to God, repented, and asked for His forgiveness. I could have been saved in a bar and it would still have been salvation.

God's word, coming to us via His spirit, is what brings salvation, not the messenger. A woman preacher can't save you, anymore than a man can. It is the blood of Christ that accomplishes that.

I guess what I am trying to say is that I believe a man or woman could get saved when a woman is preaching, but that doesn't mean she is okay by doing it. God has used women many times in His work. Even whores and liars. But that isn't an endorsement of their lifestyle by Him, now is it?

So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
His word. That is what we have to have.
And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

I AM MERELY WRITING AND QUOTING FROM GOD'S OWN HOLY WORD... FOR I LOVE YOU AND CARE DEEPLY FOR ALL HERE ON CHRISTIAN CHAT.

It talking about Jesus. If you read the context it is talking about how the rulers of that age do not know Jesus. Read the context before you take a verse and use it for support.

With Isaiah 55, your right his thoughts are higher than ours, which is why he has given us some of his thoughts, which we are using to prove our point, and which you are denying.

With the rest of Corinthians: We agree on this, but that doesn't say rather or not a woman can preach.

Isaiah 55:

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the Lord.
9“As the heavens are higher than the earth,

Does this explain the 'called' definition better, tuck?

I KNOW what you are reading in 1 Timothy 2: 11-15. Hey! I read it,too. But, I'm not God, it's not my right to judge others of the things of God going on in their life.

Again, true, Paul does say: "I suffer not a woman to teach or have authority over a man, but to be silent."

Now, this does say that Paul does not suffer this so WE should not suffer this kind of thing.

But, don't you think that God could make an exception, that God could call a woman to do what Paul says God suffers not done?

Again, there is NO absolute spoken of here. It's hard to wrap our human minds around Scripture, we are to use our mind of Christ, which is what mind Christ gave us all through His 'Helper' given us, who is the Holy Spirit, who IS inside our heart. :)

But I'm not basing what I think on my thoughts, rather on God's words. This is what you fail to do here.

And no you were being disrespectful to phil cuz he told you to call him Phil and you did not.

Yes, you are, tuck. You're basing your thoughts on what you THINK is God's will for Anj's life. She has told you she is a pastor . She is a woman, we can gather from her pink name and telling us so. And, so, what do you choose to do? Do you choose to support and realize that God is USING Anj for His glory. Or, do you choose to be a part of the problem, like philly is choosing to do, saying that there IS an absolute and that a woman, in bible times or nowadays, will NEVER be obeying God when they pastor a church over a man.

You choose. Again, the choice is yours, bro. And, I am just speaking what philly said, there is NO disrespect to him and, again, my nic to philly is not disrespecful , it is just my being 'green.' YOu want to not be nicknamed tuck, no problem, philly has not commented like you did just now that he doesn't like his nic. He now knows I nic EVERYONE on c.c.. What's more, I do it out of love, my personality. NOthing more. 100s niced and not anyone, but one, and, I spoke to them, that I was NOT saying a nic to be mean in any way , shape, or form . The Lord leads :)

Do you have verses to support your claims? Asking out of curiosity not trying to say you don't.

Yes:

Acts 21:8-9

King James Version (KJV)

8 And the next day we that were of Paul's company departed, and came unto Caesarea: and we entered into the house of Philip the evangelist, which was one of the seven; and abode with him.

9 And the same man had four daughters, virgins, which did prophesy.

Romans 2:11

11 For there is no respect of persons with God.

Acts 10:34-35

Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:

But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.

Matthew 7:19-23

King James Version (KJV)

19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Joel 2:28-32

King James Version (KJV)

28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:

29 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.

30 And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.

31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the Lord come.

32 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the Lord hath said, and in the remnant whom the Lord shall call.

23 And she answered them, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Tell ye the man that sent you to me,

24 Thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will bring evil upon this place, and upon the inhabitants thereof, even all the curses that are written in the book which they have read before the king of Judah:

25 Because they have forsaken me, and have burned incense unto other gods, that they might provoke me to anger with all the works of their hands; therefore my wrath shall be poured out upon this place, and shall not be quenched.

26 And as for the king of Judah, who sent you to enquire of the Lord, so shall ye say unto him, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel concerning the words which thou hast heard;

27 Because thine heart was tender, and thou didst humble thyself before God, when thou heardest his words against this place, and against the inhabitants thereof, and humbledst thyself before me, and didst rend thy clothes, and weep before me; I have even heard thee also, saith the Lord.

28 Behold, I will gather thee to thy fathers, and thou shalt be gathered to thy grave in peace, neither shall thine eyes see all the evil that I will bring upon this place, and upon the inhabitants of the same. So they brought the king word again.

OK we seem to be mixed up. I agree women can prophecy. Also the Spirit can affect them. The spirit doesn't call all of us to do the same. I believe based on Pauls teachings the spirit calls women differently, and any other "Calling" is a calling of their own, not of God. Prophecing and teaching are different.

Are you saying the woman will go to hell for preaching about salvation?
Didn't say she'd go to hell, she is going against the order of God though. I don't know what that means for her, but that is what she is doing.

I dont think you know what the word prophecy or prophet means. It means to teach the Prophets, guess what, the prophets teach what ? God's words, that is what the Old testament, and the new testament is.

The word means teacher of God's words. The only thing Paul did in that letter, was to quell chatter going on in that church, by women, and men.
Seeing Paul persecuted the church at one point, he attacked women: knowing these dangers, Paul also gave them the option to Not teach God's words. But as we can read from scripture, God has no issue, with using women to teach.

Paul, in another letter, says women do teach. People kind over look that one. Do you know where that is written ?

He actually has said he doesn't wanna be called Philly but okay.

Also the bible says they women are not to teach men. There is no if ands or buts in that statement. If no man is at a church to preach can they? Sure. That's becasue then they are not teaching men. The bible is clear as day. I'm not basing my thoughts on what I think for my opinion of what God has in store for Anj. I am basing it off scripture. My thoughts, my opinions, my thinking does not matter. God's does. God provides us his thoughts, opinions, and thinking through scripture. God doesn't change, we change. God says to not let women teach men. You say differently? Who are you to say God meant anything other than what he said?

To me it doesn't matter what Anj says, you say, or anyone says. It matters what God says. Some things are not clear, where we will have to do in depth study and will have differing opinions. This is clear as day in what it says. There isn't much study needed to see that in all of scripture no woman teaches a man. There also isn't much study to show that the bible says women are not to teach men. The reason we differ is becasue of two main reasons.

People think it isn't equal for men to be able to preach and women not to. God has different roles for men and women, that is clear. We as humans do not like that concept of different but equal, but its how God does it.

People don't want to offend women by telling them they are in the wrong by teaching men. Although I understand, Jesus offends many when preaching the truth.

Your verses support God's thoughts are higher than ours. Well I'm using a verse that states God thoughts while you seem to think we do not know God's thoughts. The fact is we do, its in the bible. We don't know ALL his thoughts, but we do know some.

What letter is this? Also verse?

And prophets speak what God has showed them through visions or direct communication. A pastor doesn't do that. Also a pastor leads, prophets tend not to. To me its more the fact that a pastor is a leadership role, where in the bible we can see that men lead, women do not. Also Paul isn't giving an option. He clearly is saying "I do not permit" That isn't an option.
