Although, the book of Psalm is my favorite, this scripture is a good one for me right now. I talk to God throughout my day, but I don't spend enough time listening for what He wants to speak into my spirit. I have to be washing dishes or playing an online game and that does not even qualify as my full attention. This is something I will work on. Thanks for sharing this page with me.
Ms. DeeDee: YW, part of enjoying and being guided by the Scriptures is the ongoing practice of meditating in them, sometimes when we are doing another task as well.

Blessings.

Psalm 34:8 ESV

Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!

God wants all our devotion. That even include our senses. If we could taste Him, we would daily find a flavor combination because there are so many facets to Him!

That just show us his unfathomable love, while we all here on earth are in some kind of adversity or other. Not free from pain and suffering yet, and the pain and suffering now is worth it in the long run. To escape it now, by unbelief is a short run that takes away the long run. Hard to explain, but it is what it is

Yes, we need by God's grace to be in a spiritual state to be able to 'bless the Lord at all times', as Psalm 34 says.

Blessings.

Psalm 23
The Lord is my Shepherd ( He guides me ) I shall not want. ( He meets my needs.)
He maketh me to lie down ( He allows me to rest ) in the green pastures. ( Cool green lush field)
He restoreth my soul. ( As He checks my wounds, He puts salve and oil to heal them.)
He leadeth me beside the still water. ( When I am thirsty and tired and my walk has been
tiring, He leads me to drink afresh and renews my dry soul.)
He leads me on the path of righteousness for His namesake. ( He knows my path better
than I, and it brings Him pleasure to lead me aright, to bring Him Glory and not shame.)
Yea, though I walk through the shadow of the valley of death ( There are times when
the enemy tried to take me from my Shepherd by death ) I will fear no evil. ( I need
not fear, my Shepherd, my Lord Jesus, thou art with me.)
His rod and staff they comfort me. ( The rod of correction gets my attention, the
staff, He uses as a crook to pull me back into the fold.) His love comforts me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies. ( He goes before
me and protects me against those who mean harm )
Thou anoinst my head with oil, ( when I am in need of wisdom,) my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life. ( He gives me
the grace to do that which is pleasing to Him ) and I will dwell in the House of the
Lord forever. ( Even so, come quickly, Lord Jesus ) ~J~K~2

Hey this is great, Ms. Kay! so you wrote this? it would go well to a Bruce Hornsby-style Medley, I think. :) Revelation 22 superimposed upon Psalm 23.

Blessings.

Thank you and yes I did write this. I have had so many opportunities
to use this Psalm. I use it when I am going to sleep. I use it when
I am have CT or MRI scans. AS I quote it I see it in variety of ways.
I can remember the first time I ever heard that Psalm 23. I was in
fifth grade and my classmate lost her daddy to death. The class was
allowed to go to the funeral, and I heard it and loved it. So I would
look it up in our Bible at home. It is one that just sticks with us.
I have so many I turn to.
Psalm 103... That never lets me down. God has pulled me out of some
deep trials. Yet we will praise HIM always. Thank you ~

I do think a doctrinal and musical combination of Psalm 23 and New Testament verses along this theme is just waiting to be harnessed; maybe a Christian musician could help you do it?

The first Psalm I read was Psalm 32 and 32: 8 was a wonderful promise God gave me and He continues to keep this promise. I love God and bless Him for giving me the great privilege of learning, understanding and knowing the Holy Word of God. Bless you Lord for this Psalm.Psalm 32:8 I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.

Great verse; similar to Psalm 119.105: 'Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path'.

Blessings.

CHRISTENE = Would you believe that was one of my first Psalms God used
to really speak to me as a child of God? I will never forget Him saying
Not to be like the horse with the bit and bridle ~ Also I will teach the
way you should go. When we were asked which is our favorite, it was a
toss up between Psalm 23 and Psalm 32. But, since 23 has been my very
first I learned I decided on it. I am also very partial to 103 ~ J~K~2

Ms. Kay, seems like 23 is the first that a lot of people learn. Whether all who learn it link it with the Shepherd in John 10, is another matter; one wishes they did.

A Psalm per day is sometimes a good way to go in one's private reading. (Maybe not 119...)

Blessings.

"Let my mouth be filled with thy praise and with thy honour all the day."

Psalm 71:8

I like how this ties in with Paul's linking of thankfulness, prayerfulness and rejoicing, in both 1 Thessalonians 5 and Philippians 4.

Blessings.
