My point is a homosexual CANNOT be saved by "belief only". "Belief only" leaves him/her a sinful homosexual and lost in his/her unrepented of and unremitted sins. "Belief only" is NOT repentance and cannot remit sins.

Whether Peter specifically mentioned repentance to Cornelius or not we do not know, but from Acts 11:18 we know repentance was involved with the Gentiles.
what law was he to repent from, give god saved Cornelius without repenting.
3.16 is now a fact, if you want to try and follow, it, what law was given to gentile that can give him grace the free gift from god. (eternal life)

he pray to god, Cornelius

proven john3 16 fact.

cornlius prayed to a god, heard from god and was told to sent for peter, the point when he believed in jesus Christ , the holy spirit came on him. now why did Cornelius have to hear about jesus Christ.

and what did he repent of. to get the gift of the holy spirit

Cornelius was under the NT law that requires repentance of sins, Lk 13:3,5; Acts 20:21; Acts 2:38 cf Acts 15:11.

In Acts 1:1;2 Cornelius was a believer in God yet still lost for he was outside the body of Christ, the only place salvation can be found. Peter preached to him the gospel commanding Cornelius to be water baptized, verse 47,48. Water baptism put Cornelius in the death of Christ Rom 6:3,4 washing away his sins and baptism also put Cornelius in Christ, Gal3:27.

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God: not the result of works, so that no one may boast.

I cant really tell if youre trying to put it as Faith & works save. Or confusing salvation with sanctification.

When one believes upon the Lord Jesus, he is saved, salvation is instant. But..He must continue to "abide" in Jesus from there.
A true saving faith produces obedience. And we must bear fruit.
I like what Hebrews 11 says, on all the works of faith. The dead works of man does not save. It is only by Gods grace that we can do anything, without, we are nothing. Like when Moses parted the red sea "by faith" and "by faith" when Abraham offered up Isaac.
After salvation isnt the end, we must abide in Jesus, we go through sanctification, which is a life long voyage.

And with 1 Timothy 5:8 it doesnt just mean a job. What if youre homeless with your family. Disabled and cant work? Would you count that person unsaved because he cant have a job to provide for his family? It can also be providing for the spiritual needs and emotional needs. By being there for your family, and reading Bible to your children, telling them about the love of Jesus, helping them with what they need.

So one does not have to repent to be saved, Lk 13:3,5? No confession of Christ, Mt 10:32,33? No baptism for remission of sins, Acts 2:38?
In other words, the impenitent, the denier of Christ, the one in his unwashed sins is saved?

So no obedience, no fruit, no works = no salvation

Anyone can get a job that wants one. I am talking about a lazy, slothful person who refuses to work. Can a Christian be slothful, refusing to work thereby not provide for his family and yet still be saved?

1 O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? It was before your eyes(talking to the jewish) that Jesus Christ was publicly portrayed as crucified.2 Let me ask you only this: Did you receive the Spirit by works of the law or by hearing with faith?3(believing that jesus is saviour) john 3.16 proven correct again.
again ware is the word repentance used, if you believed what you heard.
what part of first gentile do you not understand

ie the meet in acts happen around 48ad(acts 15) gal must have been after, ie a first to start a new covenant for a gentile. god bringing the two parties together.

Hebrews ch9 and 10 also confirm a new covenant. but there has to be a first, and Cornelius was the first gentile (act 10)

8 so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.

12 But when Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God,13 waiting from that time until his enemies should be made a footstool for his feet.14 For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified.
15 And the Holy Spirit also bears witness to us; for after saying,
16 "This is the covenant that I will make with them
after those days, declares the Lord:
I will put my laws on their hearts,
and write them on their minds,"
17 then he adds,
"I will remember their sins and their lawless deeds no more."
18 Where there is forgiveness of these, there is no longer any offering for sin.

Prior to the change to the NT law [Heb 10:9; Col 2:14] Cornelius being a Gentile would have been under what many refer to as the Patriarchal law. But since there was a change in law [Heb 7:12] with those OT laws taken out of the way and replaced by Christ NT law, Cornelius was lost. Even though Cornelius was a righteous man who feared God he was lost and therefore had to obey Christ's NT gospel to be saved. Obviously if Conrelius was not lost then there would be no need to send Peter to Cornelius to tell Cornelius "words, whereby thou and all thy house shall be saved".

I do not know if Luke recorded all that was said and done in Acts 10. But from Acts 11:18, how could it be said that
God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life if repentance was NOT involved in the conversion of the Gentiles?

I also know that verses as Lk 13:3,5; Lk 24:47; Acts 2:38; Acts 20:21; Rom 2:4,5; 2 Pet 3:9 show repentance has been commanded to all men, that salvation is not possible without repentance for the impenitent will be lost. Since I know the bible does not contradict itself, that can only mean Cornelius must have repented or else we have contradictions within the bible. Therefore repentance must be implied in Acts 10 by these other verses as Lk 13:3,5 even though it is not specifically mentioned in Acts 10.

Furthermore, Peter preached the first gospel sermon in Acts 2 and took the gospel to the Gentiles in Acts 10, and in Acts 2:38 Peter commanded repentance to his hearers. Peter says in Acts 15:11
But we believe that we (Jews) shall be saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus, in like manner as they (Gentiles). Peter is saying Jew and Gentiles are saved in like manner. Since repentance was part of the Jews salvation in Acts 2:38 then the Gentile are saved "in like manner" must also have repented or else Peter is lying and you have a host of contradicting verses to reconcile in some way.

In Acts 15:7 Peter said
Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe. The word of the gospel includes repentance, Lk 13:3;5; Lk 24:47; Acts 2:38, etc.

Lastly in Peter's sermon to the Gentiles Peter said in Acts 10:35
But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him. The "worketh righteousness" is obeying what God has commanded (Psa 119:172). God has commanded repentance and for the Gentiles to work Gods righteousness and be accepted with God implies they must repent or else not be accepted with God..

Could it be argued that since Peter did not specifically mention "grace" or the "blood of Christ" in his sermon of Acts 10, then these things had nothing to do with the salvation of the Gentiles?

You miss a simple fact; God saved sinners under the old Cov. without their knowledge of Jesus Christ. Was John the baptist saved? YES. Was Cornelius saved before peter meet him? YES Peter said, God accepts all workers of righteousness in God's name. Only workers of righteousness, in Jesus name, are saved today. Grace saves, and Grace produces Faith and works. No works, no faith, no Grace. NO SALVATION without Faith and Works. Love Hoffco

Belief/obedience to Christ's gospel was not part of the OT law, so they will be saved under a different law than us today.

Cornelius was not saved prior to Peter preaching to him, else why in Acts 11:13,14 does it say And he shewed us how he had seen an angel in his house, which stood and said unto him, Send men to Joppa, and call for Simon, whose surname is Peter; Who shall tell thee words, whereby thou and all thy house shall be saved

Psa 119:172 says all God's commandments are righteousness. In Acts 10 God commanded water baptism, verses 47,38. Therefore the Gentiles would be working righteousness/obeying God's commands when they submitted to water baptism.

Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
The teaching of Christ is still repent and be baptised for the remission of sins. And if you believe in Christ this you will do.And everything else he teaches. This is a new one "When one believes upon the Lord Jesus, he is saved, salvation is instant.", "A true saving faith produces obedience " Chapter and verse please...

how can a gentile repent from the full law given to moses, if no one has told him that law, again your err in you teaching and time line, jesus was under the old covenant, (law given to moses, so that he could for fill it.(the full law)
was jesus unger the new or old covenant when alive.(was he and john the Baptist sent to a jewish people, or a gentile people) so up to acts 10, it was nothing has been by a jewish person because by law they could not have spoken to a gentile.
when was the law of moses ever talked about to a gentile.

furthermore, get you time in line with the events as the happen, stop jumping about. ie jesus was in heaven, job done.
new covent for a jewish gentile starts at Pentecost, act 10 for a( gentile, new covent given to the first gentile) go back and come back and tell me , after reading acts 15, who was stile to follow the full law(would that be a jewish preson or a gentile.

70 ad proves who can follow the full law given to moses without a temple, (non christain jews and christain jews) we already know by the new covenant at Pentecost they are saved by grace, not law.

so looks like, you cant even tell the difference, between a non christain jew. and a christain jew. so to ask you, about a gentile and why he has to repent only gos to show, you miss everything . stop wasting my time, if you can show, when was the full law of moses ever given to a gentile(before the bible went to print, around 1500) and did god bring Cornelius and peter together. when was cornlius told to repent before the holy spirit was given to him. in act 10,( not any other scripture of the bible) but in act 10.

Cornelius, as a Gentile, was never under the law of Moses. Before the NT came into effect Cornelius would have been under the Patriarchal law the law that existed before the law of Moses, the law Abraham was under. Christ replaced the Patriarchal and law of Moses with His NT gospel. So Cornelius was taught the gospel of Christ by Peter in Acts 10 in order for Cornelius to be saved.

When Jesus was on earth, He was under the OT law, Heb 9:16,17 yet He was preparing people for His coming kingdom/church that would come with His NT gospel.

The first recorded gospel sermon recorded was Peter,s in Acts 2. Peter took that same gospel to the Gentiles in Acts 10 for Jew and Gentile are saved in like manner, Acts 15:11.

Answer to this thread:

2:1 And you did he make alive, when ye were dead through your trespasses and sins, 2 wherein ye once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the powers of the air, of the spirit that now worketh in the sons of disobedience; 3 among whom we also all once lived in the lusts of our flesh, doing the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest:—

4
but God, being rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, 5 even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace have ye been saved), 6 and raised us up with him, and made us to sit with him in the heavenly places, in Christ Jesus: 7 that in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus:

8
for by grace have ye been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; 9 not of works, that no man should glory. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God afore prepared that we should walk in them.

A homosexual cannot be saved as a homosexual. Christ's gospel requires the homosexual to believe Jn 8:24, repent of his sins, Lk 13:3,5 confess, Mt 10:32,33 and be baptized for remission of sins, Acts 2:38.

"Belief only" will NEVER save a homosexual for if a homosexual has "belief only" he is STILL a homosexual and STILL lost.
The change took place in the spirit. The bible says that GOD is a SPIRIT.
After a person is saved then they are a new creation then as paul said they should renew their minds.

Works salvation is a John MacArthur teaching.

Acts 10:43, “To Him give all the prophets witness, that through His name whosoever believeth in Him shall receive remission of sins.”

In order for one to become a Christian, he MUST faithfully obey God in doing works of believing, Jn 8;24; repentance, Lk 13:3,5 confession, Matt 10:32,33 and submit to baptism, Mk 16:16.

Then upon becoming a Christian and remaining saved, the Christian MUST maintain an obedient faith, Rev 2:10, keeping Christ works Rev 2:26, continue walking in the light so all his sin can continually be cleansed, 1 Jn 1:7 and do good works that God pre-ordained Christians to wallk in, Eph 2:10, Matt 25:32ff

It therefore is IMPOSSIBLE for a man to do nothing his entire life and yet still be saved. No verse says "do nothing" to become a Christian and "do nothing" to remain a faithful Christian.

A thought:

1 Tim 5:8 "But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel."

If I had to go out and get a job to WORK in order to provide for those of my own house, else be a faithless infidel, does that secular WORK I am doing mean that I am trying to merit my salvation, ie, keep from being a lost, faithless infidel?

If eternal security were true, does that mean I do not have to work to provide for my house and can still be saved as a fatihless infidel?

So can anyone demonstrate how a man can never do ANY KIND of work his entire life yet still be saved?

Repentance must take place before a homosexual can be saved. "Belief only" is not repentance and as Paul says in Rom 2 the impenitent will not be saved.

Eph 4:22,23 "That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

One first puts off the sinful way of the life of the old man, then be renewed.

Works salvation is a John MacArthur teaching.

Acts 10:43, “To Him give all the prophets witness, that through His name whosoever believeth in Him shall receive remission of sins.”

Heb 5:9; Mt 7:21 among many, many more verses teach one must obey to be saved. Doing nothing saves no one.

seabass you can't make GOD think the way that man thinks.
When I quote verses from the bible I am quoting what God thinks. Unfortunately many try and change bible verses to conform it to their opinions for hey do not like what God thinks.
