If I had several of my brothers and sisters in Christ come to me and point out that I was behaving in an inappropriate way, I would listen and do what I could to correct said behavior.

Granted, I've been known to ignore the wise words and corrections of just one or two people. It's easier to keep pretending I'm right and they're wrong when it's only a couple of people.

But when something is mentioned repeatedly by several people? And others are agreeing? I think that'd make me stop and take notice.

I dunno. It's strange to me how anyone could simply ignore stuff like that and carry on with what they're doing and think, somehow, that's it's cute, or that people don't really mind.

It's not cute. It's not amusing.

don't know who you mean specifically, but do you need anyone taken out? I know a guy...

...and by "taken out," I mean out to see other people being appropriate and modeling such behavior and restraint. I would NEVER EVER condone violence.

God is more patient with us than we are with ourselves. We assume that if we fall, we aren't born again. If we stumble, then we aren't truly converted. If we have old desires, then we must not be a new creation. If you are anxious about this, please remember, "God began doing a good work in you, and I'm sure He will continue it until it is finished when Jesus Christmas comes again"(Philippians 1:6)
Do you think Jesus Christmas will come visit me this year?

I only condone violence when it's necessary.

And I am all for necessities...

He's making a list and checking it twice, gonna find out whose naughty or nice. Last year there was coal in my stocking if that tells you anything.

Just place them beside the fireplace once St.Nicolas has arrived.
He'll give you a treat. :)

My Grandmother bought a pair of clogs like that one of the times she visited Sweden. I used to clomp around her house in them. They can really take a beating.

I've been trying to cut back on caffeine. Caffeiene? Caffiene?!? Where the heck is my spell check at?

Anyway...you know what I mean...coffee.

So this morning, instead of making a cup of coffee first thing when I woke up, I had a glass of water, and then made some tea instead. After a while, I started to feel sort of semi-awake, ish. And then I gave in and had coffee, but one cup, instead of the normal 3 I would have had by that time.

I usually drink coffee all stinkin' day. Because...coffee.

Anyway, I'm making an effort to cut down to two cups of coffee a day. Because that's reasonable. Whereas 12...not so much.

It's no fun and I don't like it.

I'd like a pair of those, wooden shoe? :p

Someone was bound to do it. May as well be me!

They are shiny wood shoes. I believe they're meant for clog dancing. I remember being able to slide really fast on the rug.

They're not just for clog dancing... :p

Actually wooden shoes are great for working in the fields, and for work on the farm in general.
Mud doesn't stick to clogs as much as it does to leather boots. Plus they're cheaper.

I was sitting in a coffee shop this morning enjoying a cup of tea, when I saw the oddest site. A woman a few tables away was trying to show her blind friend the bunions on her feet. I didn't expect to see that when I woke up this morning.

I've been thinking about why many modern (Christian) weddings just rub me in the wrong way. There's the obvious, such as the ceremony feeling self-focused rather than Christ-focused.. but I think I may have narrowed down something more specific that just gets on my nerves.

It's the vows.

The way some people write their vows... they aren't even vows. At best they're empty promises that can be easily broken ("I promise to fall asleep in your arms every night" Really? What if he's on a business trip and you are physically incapable of sleeping in his arms? Boom. Just broke that vow), or even worse, they're not even promises at all, but just declarations of love.

My friend's dad is a pastor, and he even said he had one couple ask him if they could skip the vows because they thought vows were just a dated tradition. I'm pretty sure he facepalmed, followed by "you could literally skip ANY part of the wedding and have it still be a wedding EXCEPT for the vows. The vows are the whole point of a wedding. The part where you pledge your loyalty to one another."

I just.. *sigh* I don't know. Maybe it's just a pet peeve. I actually noticed that this happened at my best friend's wedding, and I'm really hoping my face did not betray my inner feelings of disappointment, because there were an awful lot of photographers there. :p

I joke about acting like a 12 year old at times....some people make me look mature. It's disappointing and disheartening to see Christians acting in such a manner. It's a disgrace to the Name of Jesus. *sigh* Sadly, it is time I go find the ignore list.

Yeah...that is concerning, really. I mean, I'm all for declarations of love and all, and those could be included WITH the vows, but I don't think they should be the vows.

There's this one show on TLC called 4 weddings I believe. And 99% of them are extremely overrated lovey-dovey stupid stuff. But there's this one certain episode that really struck me. There was someone who yes, wrote their own wedding vows, but it really hit hard, and the bride said, "I will not go to bed angry with you." And the Bible does say, do not let the sun go down on your anger. And I just thought, WOW. The courage it would take to make that sort of vow before a congregation. I wonder if it is possible to keep such a vow.

I'm ashamed to say this but sometimes drama, other people's not mine, intrigues me. Not serious life changing drama but little things.

Why is that? Am I the only one?
