The problem with the poll is that many, like myself, already voted before today. We have a system of early voting. For a week or two before the official voting day, you can go and early vote. I voted last week. I mostly voted Republican, as the lesser of the 2 evils. But for many judge positions & for my Representative to the House of Reps, there was no Republican running at all. For House of Representatives, my representative is a Democrat, and my district is a "safe democrat precinct." A libertarian party candidate ran, and an independent candidate ran. I voted for the independent, though the main issue he seems concerned about was Ebola!
I was flabbergasted to see that something like 20 judge positions had no one running but a democrat. O I just unvoted for them.
It looks like the Republicans will end the day "controlling" both legislative houses of Congress. It is a phenomena of American politics that if a president wins a 2nd 4 year term, after 2 years the Congressional vote will go against him. This happened to Ronald Reagan & I think to Bush II. I guess after 6 years the people figure out that the president is not the messiah and give him a congressional opposition.
