sassy lady no worries, there is a man out there who will see you for you and not your physical appearance. No woman should feel inadequate in the eyes of man. The kind of man that you should have is when you are on your worst days and your hair is a wreck and you look exhausted and he says your beautiful and you say I look like a train wreck and he says no that's not what I meant I mean YOU are beautifulUnfortunately I've met plenty of Christian men who want an attractive woman, and or one who is slim. I feel totally inadequate to ever meet a man who can see me for who I am.

Little girl, fourteen
Flipping through a magazine
Says she wants to look that way
But her hair isn't straight
Her body isn't fake
And she's always felt overweight...

The Perfect Body | Dear Kate
Here is another personal example. The dominant race in the southern part of India (where I live in) are Dravidian. They are characterised by a pronounced nasal ridge, wavy/curly hair and dark skin (dusky to dark). Guess which cosmetic is sold the most here? It is fairness creams. Every major cosmetic brand has a "Fairness cream" for the masses here. People believe that only fair people can achieve success in life. And it is disturbing to see that not only do people believe in it but they also teach this to their children. It gets passed down from generation to generation. Not only women, even men are pressured to become fairer. Here are some of the products -
