Why does it seem like so many women in the church are looking for a fictional man?

Hope I didn't sound like that's what I thought of your post. :) you were making a very valid observation. I just wanted to share that I personally haven't noticed the same trend in my own circle of Christians, but that doesn't make your observation any less valid. And yes, I can certainly see why you'd find that mindset frustrating!

Perhaps it's just an indicator of whether or not a Christian is desperate then.

I've hung out with far too many desperate people. Ain't nobody got time for that!

I'll wait until another one of those threads pops up again and maybe I'll act on it then. Usually I just post music, or animated gifs, or sometimes just static pictures.

It depends on how busy I am really.
 
It seems like women are looking for a fictional man, some "super man" who doesn't exist because...

all those lonely women in the world haven't met the guys on CC yet,
and been thoroughly mesmerized by all of our incrediblenesses.

I mean the "nice guys" are the incredible ones.

If you're not a nice guy, you're just some d-bag who believes in Christ.
 
I've never dated a girl who chose to go out with me because they knew I was a strong christian. Does anyone think that having Christ-like characteristics can be attractive thing to others?

The last person I went out with was chosen due to his strong Christianity. He prayed with me in the car at the end of our date, and it was really pretty wonderful. I definitely find Christ-like characteristics attractive.
 
I don't find super spirituality an attractive quality. It's actually quite off putting. Anyways, on a more serious note, i'm not looking for a Disney Prince.

I'm gonna be romantic for a second and say that maybe they go for such high standards because they think that a made-up man may be the only one who would love them despite all their flaws.
 
That's why, to answer my own question, I don't think having Christ-like characteristics is an attractive thing when looking for a person to date. I think I'd rather be single and strive to be christ-like daily than finding a girl who just wants me to be a Jesus follower on Sunday's. Actually, to be honest, it has cost me losing a girlfriend and friends. I just don't think I can be a between-the-alter-and-the-door christian. I don't have a desire to be "super spiritual"(lol) because I know I mess up and do more damage than good at times. But to quote what a pastor once said in a sermon, "Sometimes, being alone is better than being with people who do not appreciate your love..." .... I believe that goes for both dating and friendships.
 
If a person can believe that Jesus loved them so much that he died for them with all of their flaws, why is it so hard for people to believe that someone here on earth could do the same?(The first seems understandable, the second sounds insane.)
Ohhhhh, yeahhhh, we're humans.:/ lol He loves us despite our flaws. Christians should love the same, right? We make things more difficult than it should be.haha
 
I think it is because they feel the need to "measure up" to other women's ideas of a "great catch". Family, friends, etc. Unfortunately this has its roots in non-Christian women, and has infiltrated our entire culture nowadays. This I blame on feminism taken to its modern-day extreme. Once again, this is just my opinion, by experience.
 
Why does that one guy have a.... is that a bucket? on his head?

Christ-like qualities are incredibly attractive to me. Very high up on the list. I wouldn't abide a relationship with a Sunday Christian.
 
I'll shoot the bucket off his head with a slingshot. He won't get anywhere near me with that quarterstaff, much less make anything out of me.
