I can talk for hours about chocolate.

I can talk for hours and hours about computers.

I can talk for DAYS about music.

Pick your poison and prepare to sit with glazed eyes while I go on and on and on and on and...

I have a transient obsession with the Magic The Gathering card game. Have ever since it came out. I may forget about it for a year here and there but I always break out into a nerd binge regarding it lasting anywhere from days to months. The sheer number of possibilities and the question I deal with every game I play "How can I screw the other guy over in the most dirty and unfair way possible?". It's a very gratifying skill that has absolutely no value in the real world. lol

I rather adamantly consider myself to not be a geek. In fact, one time my Mother called me a geek and it was crushing to me.

That being said:

- I surf the web looking for photos of Unimogs and I save all the good ones on my computer. I should admit that I also have quite the collection of Jeep and Hagglunds photos also.

- I built a spread sheet listing the specs of several off road vehicles so that I can compare them side by side.

- I have a radiator cooled computer

I’m not sure if these qualify me as a geek – I hope not.:)

Here are some of my favorite photos:

I eat chocolate, I cook with chocolate, I know what chocolate is good and I'm always looking for a better chocolate. I don't make chocolate from cocoa beans though. And Lindt has been superseded by Moser Roth.

I looked into building computers but a short talk with God revealed it would take up time better spent elsewhere. Besides most people don't want a desktop computer anymore. I don't code programs, but I'm the local nerd that everyone asks for help with their computers. I'm... a semi-pro user. I seem to be good at making computers do what people want them to do. And I know how to partition hard drives, install OS, install drivers and what-not.

Okay I confess... I don't really know all that much. My main strength is using google.

I'm going to agree with DonkeyFish. Magic the Gathering is where its at for me as well. I play EDH with friends at least once a week. Also MTGO for times we cant meet up. Outside of that then Game of Thrones would be next.

My daughters go to an Early College nerd high school, and Magic is huge there. So huge, in fact, that several students failed their college classes last semester and got expelled because they were skipping class to play Magic, or missing the school van from the college back to the high school, so they could sit in the lounge and play.

Yeah... it's now banned on campus. :p

It's a very good kind of chocolate. Where Lindt 85% cocoa bars frankly taste like bitter dirt, Moser Roth 85% cocoa is very smooth. Very strong, but very smooth.

Unfortunately I can only find Moser Roth at a store called Aldi. Fortunately there is now an Aldi about an hour away. Before they opened last year, the closest Aldi was much farther away.

"Back in my day" the big thing was Dungeons and Dragons.

I had a high school boyfriend whose best friend got a full-ride scholarship into a major engineering program at a renowned university. He was incredibly intelligent... But he totally flunked out and lost his entire scholarship... All because he spent all his evenings playing D&D from dusk 'til dawn.

He even lost at least one girlfriend over because of it too. In order to spend time with him, he had to make appointments with him... when no major D&D events were going on, of course.

I would have to say.. anything related to computers and anything related to the bible. On neither topic am I an expert, but I could discuss these two topics at lengths that would test even the most robust of attention spans.

Challenge accepted. Gimme your best long-winded shot.

Let's start with Linux Mint and Crunchbang. And let's start with what Jesus wrote on the ground when they brought to him the woman caught in adultery.

Yep, D&D is very dark and addictive. MTG is of course the sequal by the same people. I know someone here is gonna flame me for posting this, but it sums up the TCG/RPG scene rather well!
Click --> Dark Dungeons

As a Christian I can't play those kind of games, too dark. Not to mention most people make it an idol. :p
