Christmas was awesome and has left my house looking like a tornado hit it. But only on the inside, I mean. Because the house itself is still standing. And I don't know why I clarified that, because I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be here posting about it if my house Wasn't still standing...though...maybe I would. 75% of this paragraph is pointless.
I got a bunch of new painting stuff- a great big wooden box full of it. Watercolors, acrylics, and oils, plus pastels and new brushes and canvas board. The only thing it didn't come with that I desperately need is a teacher, but then, there's always Youtube.
I tried looking into taking an art class locally, but so far there's been nothing and more nothing and probably will be a whole lot More nothing until spring, when the folks around here come out of hibernation and start functioning again. So for now, I'll keep doing what I've been doing and wasting paint and canvas, but this time with the help of some instructional videos that may or may not be any good.
My mom gave me a beautiful, quilted bag, handcrafted by Nepalese women (it says so on the tag!), and I think it's the perfect place to store my paints and pastels. I'm pretty excited about this.
Oh! OH! And my Christmas roast beast (er...elk roast...) turned out delicious. I discovered that I actually have a wild game cook book in my cupboard, and thought it would make sense to crack it open and use it for once.
I have now stopped typing and walked away from this post three different times and have forgotten where I was going with it, so this seems like a good time to give up and eat dinner.
