[SUP]19 [/SUP]Therefore it is my judgment that we do not trouble those who are turning to God from among the Gentiles, [SUP]20 [/SUP]but that we write to them that they abstain from things contaminated by idols and from fornication and from what is strangled and from blood. [SUP]21 [/SUP]For Moses from ancient generations has in every city those who preach him, since he is read in the synagogues every Sabbath.”
James made the point that the "rule book" was preached every Sabbath so he didn't have to spell out every detail. He only particularly pointed out issues that may have been discussed.
Good point and what is so hard for some to let sink in. The scriptures the noble Bereans searched was the Law and Prophets/writings. No way can one guess accurately what is being said by NT writers, as they quoted the old, and did not explain it all as they spoke, good grief, now a days people throw out the very Words that they claim is their "schoolmaster".

Since Mary was the wife or was engaged to Joseph wouldn't that make Jesus illegitimate?
Joseph was not his biological father according to contemporary Christian thought.
Doesn't this create a problem for Jesus?
Deuteronomy 23:2King James Version (KJV) [SUP]2 [/SUP]A bastard shall not enter into the congregation of the Lord; even to his tenth generation shall he not enter into the congregation of the Lord.

Fortunately, for Jesus, Joseph was Jesus' biological father.
No, Joseph was Jesus' legal father but not his biological father...

Mat 1:18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit.

Before Joseph and Mary had relations she was already pregnant with Christ. Christ's brothers and sisters were Joseph and Mary's biological children but Jesus Christ was the child of Mary and God.

The Sabbath day predates the Law so whether the Law is abolished or not is irrelevant.
Face the fact that all you have are snips of verses mentioning the first day of the week but no clear cut command to change the Sabbath day.
Be aware, as I pointed out in one of my posts, that the Emperor Constantine changed the Sabbath day by decree. Is Constantine your master? Or is the Pope?[the little horn that changes times and days]
ctually, the Law is eternal, the Ten Commandments were in force prior to Sinai. One of the exercises that I was required to do was to find all ten Commandments prior to Ex 20:1. It is an interesting exercise that you should try some time.

Was the feast of Pentecost, when Jesus' disciples received the Holy Spirit, a Sunday back when Jesus died?

Jesus was executed on the first day of the feast of unleavened bread, which is the next day after the day when the Passover lamb is sacrificed. Now Jesus was supposed to be dead 3 days and 3 nights and rise up on the third day.
No, Christ was crucified on the Passover. The next day was the high day...

Joh 19:31 Therefore, because it was the Preparation Day, that the bodies should not remain on the cross on the Sabbath (for that Sabbath was a high day), the Jews asked Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.

His body was not on the stake during the First Day of Unleavened Bread.

Now if Jesus rose on a Sunday, count back 3 days in the tomb, and one day from the day of execution to passover. Now count forward 50 days and no matter how you count there is no way that Pentecost came on a Sunday that year when the disciples received the Holy Spirit.
Christ rose at/about sunset, three days and three nights after He was put into the tomb.

So trying to tie Pentecost in with Sunday worship is not factual it is deception.

However, The Roman Catholic Church has rigged Pentecost so it always fall on a Sunday. According to Christian tradition, Pentecost is always seven weeks after Easter Sunday; that is to say, 50 days after Easter (inclusive of Easter Day). In other words, it falls on the eighth Sunday, counting Easter Day. Of course this is total deception.
BTW IMO Easter is a pagan holiday which has been blended in to deceive people.
The truth is that Pentecost was a Feast Day and occurred on the first day of the week.

Why would Ishtar have anything to do with this?

Joh 20:19 ¶ Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
Ac 20:7 ¶ And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.
1Co 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.

This sounds like a commandment to me. We must keep the commandments of God Word!

Post that scripture if you don't mind?
Genesis 7:2, "You shall take with you seven pairs of every clean animal, a male and his female; two of animals that are unclean, a male and his female; But seven pairs of birds of the air, male and female, you will take with you to keep the species alive on the face of all the earth."

Genesis 26:5, "Because Abraham obeyed My voice, and kept My charge, My commandments, My statutes, and My Laws."

Genesis 2:3, "
Then Yahweh blessed the Seventh Day and set it apart to be holy, because in it He rested from all the work which Yahweh had created and made."

And to put the icing on the cake:

Exodus 16:4, "
Then Yahweh said to Mosheh: I will rain bread from heaven for you. The people are to go out and gather enough for each day, in order that I may test them, to see whether they will walk in My Law, or not."

Exodus 16:27-28, "Nevertheless, some of the people went out on the Seventh Day to gather it, but they found none. Then Yahweh said to Mosheh: How long will you refuse to keep My commandments and My Laws?"

Exodus 18:19, "Listen now to me, and I will give you sound advice, and may Yahweh be with you. You must be the people's representative before Yahweh and bring their disputes to Him. And
you shall teach them the ordinances and Laws
, and shall show them the way in which they must walk, and the work that they must do."

Why did Yahweh have Mosheh to teach them?

Because the Israylites were in captivity in Egypt and they forgot all the ways of Yahweh.

First just because the word commandment is used it has nothing to do with the law of Moses that was not given until hundreds of years after Abraham.. and these things represent Christ not Moses... what do you think the sacrifice represents? and who is the Bread of Life? and who is the Sabbath...But Jesus Christ and all these things represent faith in Him... not moses.

foot note for gentile sinners (goyim nations) peoples seeking truth, whether redeemed/purchased, or not, or to be.

[h=4]Names of weekdays[/h] The Hebrew calendar follows a seven-day weekly cycle, which runs concurrently but independently of the monthly and annual cycles. The names for the days of the week are simply the day number within the week. In Hebrew, these names may be abbreviated using the numerical value of the Hebrew letters, for example יום א׳ (Day 1, or Yom Rishon (יום ראשון)):

  1. Yom Rishon – יום ראשון (abbreviated יום א׳), meaning "first day" [corresponds to Sunday] (starting at preceding sunset of Saturday)

First just because the word commandment is used it has nothing to do with the law of Moses that was not given until hundreds of years after Abraham..
Same Law, clean and unclean animals, Sabbath.... The Creator;s Law govern the universe.

It is clearly written.

Genesis 7:2, "You shall take with you seven pairs of every clean animal, a male and his female; two of animals that are unclean, a male and his female; But seven pairs of birds of the air, male and female, you will take with you to keep the species alive on the face of all the earth."

Exodus 16:4, "

Psalm 89:26-37, "He will call out to Me; You are my Father, O Yahweh! You are the Rock of my salvation! And I will make Him My firstborn, higher than the kings of the earth. My mercy I will keep for Him forever and My covenant will stand fast with Him. And I will establish his Seed forever, and his throne will be as the days of heaven. Should his children forsake My Law, and refuse to walk in My judgments; Should they profane My statutes, and fail to keep My commandments; Then I will punish their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with lashes from the whip. Nevertheless, My lovingkindness I will not utterly withdraw from him, nor will I ever betray My faithfulness. My covenant I will not break, nor will I change what that has gone out of My lips. Once for all, I have vowed by My holiness--I cannot lie, and I say to David: His Seed will endure forever, and his throne will endure before Me like the sun. His throne will be established forever like the moon: the faithful witness in the sky."

Malakyah 4:1-4,"For, behold, the day comes that will burn like an oven; and all the proud, yes, and all who do wickedly, will be stubble--the day that comes will burn them up, says Yahweh of hosts; and it will leave them neither root nor branch. But for you who reverence My Name, the light of righteousness will arise with healing in its wings; and you will go out, leaping like calves released from the stall. And you will tread down the wicked; for they will be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I will do this, says Yahweh of hosts. Remember the Law of Mosheh My servant, which I commanded through him in Horeb for all Israyl, with the statutes and judgments."

So.... By "Remember" the Creator that knows the end from the beginning actually meant forget?

Luke 16:17, "But it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one yodh of the Law to fail."

and these things represent Christ not Moses... what do you think the sacrifice represents? and who is the Bread of Life? and who is the Sabbath...But Jesus Christ and all these things represent faith in Him... not moses.

Heb 3:16-19, "For some, when they had heard, rebelled. But not all rebelled who came out of Egypt through Mosheh. But with whom was He angry forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose corpses fell in the wilderness? And to whom did He vow that they would not enter into Hisrest, but to those who did not obey?So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief."

Revelation 14:13, "And I heard a voice from heaven saying to me: Write: Blessed are the dead, the ones dying in the Messiah from now on! Yes, says the Spirit: because they willrest from their labors, and their works do follow them!"

Revelation 21:4 And Yahweh will wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there will be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, nor will there be any more pain, for the former things have passed away. "

John (Yahchanan) 15:4-6, "Abide in Me, and I in you. Just as the branch cannot produce fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, produces much fruit; but without Me, you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away like a branch, and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned."

7 And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.

Some think that "break[ing] bread" refers to Christians partaking of bread and wine in commemoration of Christ's death. So they conclude that the verse here concerns a religious service on the first day of the week.
after Paul finished speaking they again broke bread and ate (verse 11). Breaking bread to eat a meal is mentioned in Luke:24:30, 35 and Acts:27:35.

Verses 7-11 describe several events of one night. Since the Bible, in both the Old and New Testaments, counts days as beginning when the sun goes down, these events began with a meal on Saturday evening after the Sabbath, which would have been the only evening on "the first day of the week.

he stayed and spoke long into the night. At midnight one young man in the congregation fell asleep, tumbled from the window where he sat and was killed in the fall.
After speaking and talking all night, Paul the next morning walked almost 20 miles to Assos to meet the rest of the people in his group who had sailed there (verses 11, 13-14)

PENTECOST ALWAYS IS CELEBRATED FIFTY DAYS AFTER the Festival of First Fruits, which is celebrated THE DAY AFTER THE SABBATH FOLLOWING THE CLOSE OF PASSOVER. THAT is 7 Sabbaths (49 days) PLUS ONE DAY, which is the SUNDAY that the Jews Celebrate Pentecost which they call Shavuot. IT IS ALWAYS CELEBRATED A SUNDAY AS DESCRIBED IN LEVITICUS.

Leviticus 23:15-16 (NIV)
[SUP]15 [/SUP] "'From the day after the Sabbath, the day you brought the sheaf of the wave offering, count off seven full weeks.
[SUP]16 [/SUP] Count off fifty days up to the day after the seventh Sabbath, and then present an offering of new grain to the LORD. {That is Pentecost OR Shavuout, which ever you want to call it.}

AS for counting the three days, JUDAISM does not count days like we do. They consider any fraction of a day to be the same as a whole day, when counting them. ALL CHRISTIANS SHOULD STUDY JEWISH FEASTS, CUSTOMS, TRADITIONS, AND LAWS. It would prevent an enormous amount of these type of arguments.

A spotless Lamb represents the Messiah... where do you get this stuff? Doyou just make things up as you go along?

"to keep the species alive on the face of all the earth"

Genesis 7:2, "You shall take with you seven pairs of every clean animal, a male and his female; two of animals that are unclean, a male and his female; But seven pairs of birds of the air, male and female, you will take with you to keep the species alive on the face of all the earth."

Is that the defaco destruction of any who preach obedience to the Instructions?

Just to yell out, "justifieddddddd! byyyyy! workkkssssss!!!!"

It is possible for people to desire to obey the Creator simply because they know what He says is right....

Revelation 22:12-15, "And behold, I come quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give every man according as his work will be. I am the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. Blessed are those who keep His Laws, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. For outside are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and worshipers of gods and everyone who professes to love, yet practices falsehood."
So you think the blood sacrifice represents something other than Christ... a shadow of Christ? Yes justified by faith is the foundation of all biblical truth and the Blood of the Lamb is the foundation of all faith.

1 Corinthians 16 King James Version (KJV)

16 Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given order to the churches of Galatia, even so do ye.
2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.
yes because they met on the first day of the week as the scriptures clearly show and teach.
