God forbid if I ever have a family that I should leave them in their time of need. I don't even feel like my family is actually a family. Just people who are related to each other or about to be related to us living under one roof. I know Dad tries. But it just doesn't feel like this is working.

Today it was an odd day!

One special thing I learned today: "1Jn 4:20 But if we say we love God and don't love each other, we are liars. We cannot see God. So how can we love God, if we don't love the people we can see? "

It is like saying: "I loved my wife..." But hating OUR children.

Love is inclusive! And the more it grows, it learns how to deal with those numbered.

Will I be wise? It´s easier to love, but a few.

He hasn't proposed yet. I don't know when things will happen. He's going to try to make sure my other sister and I will be okay first before anything happens. But for right now, regardless of that, things are all screwy here at home. Some days I mainly ignore it, and don't even realize it's there. But then there are other days it hits me like a ton of bricks.

Pretty much like how it is here. Best communication is often when an argument randomly breaks out.

When our old normal changes, we feel off center, as if the rug has been pulled out from under our feet.
We stagger around emotionally, grasping for something to hold onto.
We seek some sense of stability and some sense of normal.
Our head is awash with memories of a past normal, as our eyes behold this new, unfamiliar landscape.

Give yourself time to adjust.
Take it one day at a time.
Be thankful for the memories of the past stability and normal.
Try to find things in your present chaos to be thankful for.

Let yourself heal.
Let yourself adjust.
Let things settle in.

A new normal will eventually develop.
It will be a new different landscape.
Know that Jesus is with you in this.
All of this.
He's the normal that doesn't change.

True north
There's a strong steady light that keeps guiding us on
True north
In the lingering night we were never alone
We need an absolute compass
Now more than ever before
True north

Why do you let them do this too you. Stand up for the Truth, man! I don't know what I would do in that same situation, but I wouldn't have a bar of it and I'd feel like punching someone in the face for suggesting and organising such a stunt (and I'm not a violent man - at all).

At least you aren't getting Minnesota weather in Ohio. It's supposed to be -25 tomorrow morning from what I heard.

Oncefallen: No wonder the asphalt buckles so much up there. Your highs seem to be higher than ours in the summer and your lows are always lower in the winter. Heaven knows how much they have to pay to keep the roads up.

BowTied: Um... you were right, you are definitely too accomodating.

Wait... What the hee haw happened???

I read something in your posts about meeting a nice buttoned-up Christian lady, then something about a mass gay marriage ceremony, and now something about your being wed??!!

So apparently the bow has officially been tied... But I'm just not sure how, and to whom???

It was a workplace stunt, but he was far too accommodating.

Today's pop music is (sometimes) catchy tune-wise, but the lyrics are just so STUPID.

I heard a song the other day and I just sat there like, "...this is music? These are real lyrics? This is why I never listen to the radio and I listen to my own music which is not pop." I am not even going to say what the song was because not only were the lyrics dumb but they were some of the most vulgar I've heard.

Rachel: In my experience about 70% of music - all music, in all genres, all styles - is junk. Songs are sung, albums are made, all for the purpose of making a buck. And the pointlessness comes through in the music. Though fans buy it, though they listen to it for the beat or the tune, though they will inevitably buy the next album just because it's from a certain group, in a few years it will be old and forgotten.

That other 30% though.... mmmm, that music that actually has something to say. It is worth searching through the junk to find it. And christian music with something to say is even better.
