I think that could be better translated as grace upon grace?

were they obedient to the Lord and thus received mercy?:confused: i think not. mercy and grace is by definition unmerited favor.

ironically, jonah was defiant and rebellious when sent to preach repentance and mercy to the pagans.
sounds like many who believe grace and favor are for them - but not others.
