Yes, just as Paul teaches there is no other gospel than that of Jesus Christ, so it is that not only Paul, but all who believe learn of the Mastser, for He is the Source of all wisdom and knowledge. If we do not learn from Him, we only have second -hand learning, even from our most trusted brethren.

The most wonderful aspect of this is that Yeshua invites us to learn directly from Him, going on to let us know His burden is light, and His yoke is easy.. Now He said this in reference to the hypocrites who lay heavy burdens upon the laity while not being willing to lift even a finger to bear them themselves, honoring God with their lipz while their hearts are far away, somewhere else.

Isn't it wonderful to be invited to Jesus Christ's classroom by Jesus Christ, Himself.

If you understand Christ, and Paul, and we both know Paul did not contradict Christ, please answer the following question:

Why did Paul say:

Carry each others burdens and so fulfil the law of Christ Gal 6:2

Why did he not say.

''Obey Christ's individual commands and so fulfil the law of Christ?''

Why do you ask such questions when you already know what I understand as shared with you?

I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. [SUP]13 [/SUP]But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth John 16:12&13

When we have learned of Jesus Christ we do eactly as He taught to the best of the ability and strengthe given us by the Holy Spirit, kyet He has done the actual work of Salvation for us. We work out our salvation with fear and tremblign, and in so doing we do and not just say what He has taught us. This is understood by Christ's teachings first, then from His tru students. Though Pal is the 13th Apostle, he is still a student of teh Lord. Your question was answerd when you first knew that I believe we learn from the Master. I am not being wiley.

I will leave it to the independent observer as to whether they believe you have answered the question. I do not believe you have answered it

In my view, Paul showed us how to live according to the core of Christ's teaching by following the true path of grace. I agree, many do not understand the book of Romans. Why do you think
the law arouses sinful passions in those who live under it? Rom 7:5

Paul teaches the gospel of Jesus Christ. He teaches there is no other gospel. If you are looking for the "how to's" for living in Christ from Paul, it smacks of setting up one's own selected laws, and being "under the laws of Paul."

Anyone who hears the teachings of Jesus Christ and does them is doing all necessary to his Salvation for Salvation is sthe translation of Christ's name, that is of Jesus.

Michael, I think there is confusion between grace and cheap grace and when I hear the word grace I immediately assume that it is from a person who believe once save always saved and grace is a licence to sin.

When you hear the word law you immediately think Pharisees and legalistic.

Somewhere between these two statements we will find the truth and if we look at it we will start to accommodate each others views.

Here is the conundrum if you like. Only by knowing you are eternally secure with God solely because of what Christ did for you at Calvary, shall sin not be your master. This means you know in your heart your right standing with God is not dependant on observing the law(you sin if you fail to observe the law)
Yet at the same time a Christian cannot live as they want, a carefree existence of sinning.

How do you bridge the two?

Possibly, those who simply try and follow the literal commands of Christ, without understanding what Paul wrote, are not allowing themselves to be led of the Spirit into truth

Unhappily, many folks do not take into consideration that the Epistles are Letters to specific assembliees who were experiencing specific problems in their understanding of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For this cause the letters were written to them. Now there is much to glean from the letters to this errant bodies, however if one has indeed learned of Christ and the Holy Spirit, he does not need the Epistles.

All to many theologies under the infulence of the problems addressed to one group or another have been formed and have failed as theologies because they do not rely totally on the Gospel of Jesus Christ as taught by HIm. Again, as Paul teaches, there is no other gospel.

If people wish to glean a theology from Paul only, they should do all Paul teaches to all of those errant assemblies, however when one learns from the Master, he will always understand the His Teachings, HIs Gospel, without the clutter of the problems of such as Corinthians, Colossions, Romans, ets. It is good to read that history of our progress, however remaining always in the words of Yeshua is the Way, the Truth and the Life, amen.

By the way, the foundations of the New Jerusalem are built as twelve, not thirteen. This may or may not be important to you or others.

I totally agree here and then you have those that say things like:

1) I am saved by grace, but the Law is still there for my benefit to know what is good and evil and to have a model to follow after

Not according to 2 Peter 1.1-11

2) I am a sinner saved by grace!

Hmmm OK, but you cannot be a sinner and saved by grace at the same time.

3) I am a sinner saved by grace and follow the law,but Jesus puts robes of righteousness on me anyway<<<<<<<watched a guy on a video preaching this nonsense just today.

The worst are those that preach/teach righteousness then let things like this slip out:

You bette rbe in church whenever the doors are open or you wont know God...

The works based self righteous crowd needs our prayers.

yes, they not only need that, but to stop following their pagan God and repent and find the true Christ.

All scripture is inspired by God, therefore we cannot ignore scriptures that don’t go along with our line of thinking.
I agree that Christians are no longer under the Mosaic Law covenant.
(Romans 7:6) (Ephesians 2:15) I also agree that we cannot earn salvation by any works which would include upholding the Mosaic Law or any other works, such as being kind and helpful to others. Salvation is a gift from God. (Romans 6:23) We must have faith in Christ Jesus to obtain everlasting life. (John 3:16)

But there are other scriptures that we cannot ignore. Please take the time to carefully read James chapter 2.
True faith would move us to love and help each other. To be clear I am not saying that we can earn salvation through works. We demonstrate our faith by our works. Works are important part of being a Christian. Jesus said that his followers would be known by the love they show for one another. It is not good enough just to have faith because even the demons have that.

James 2:18,19 But someone might argue, “Some people have faith, and others have good works.” My answer would be that you can’t show me your faith if you don’t do anything. But I will show you my faith by the good I do.
[SUP]19 [/SUP]You believe there is one God. That’s good, but even the demons believe that! And they shake with fear.

you may have missed it, But no demon ever had faith in God. The mere fact they are a demon (fallen angel) is because they DID NOT have faith in God. James did not say this, he said they believe, yet tremble

Huge difference between mere belief and true faith.

Faith works, belief does not.

many people believe in God, but are no more saved than these demons, it takes true faith to save, true faith produces works, that was james point.

Seems like people are just having a problem understanding what faith without works is dead means.

GOD does not need to see physical works.Faith pleases GOD,but men look at the outward appearances and if their faith is true they will do good works.

The whole point of james is to test our own faith. is it real, or are we hearers only not doers of the word. you can not look at someone and see if they have true faith or not. a pharisee looked like a follower of God because of all his work. yet he did not even know God on a personal level. because he did not trust God, he trusted his own deeds.

Yes, man is saved through faith and not by works (Ephesians 2:8,9); yet genuine faith will be evidenced by good works (James 2:18). If someone merely claims to have faith yet they have no works (James 2:14); then they do not have genuine faith but an empty profession of faith. A dead faith.
