I would like to say for the record smoking weed is in no way an addiction. Drinking boss is and most persription drugs for pain ,sleep, and other problems are very addictive. Pot is just as good a treatment for most of those problems. Better in fact!!! Because it's not addictive. I believe in God and I listen to God. God is love and truth. Don't take my word for any of this. Find out for yourself. Jesus loves the truth too so should you!!!

Hello again. I just felt the point should be made that pot does have a positive side. There isn't anything wrong with using it responsibly. The real problem is the lack of responsibility. Same as with any drug. No one is condoning the use of drugs while working never mind using heavy equipment or driving.Being safe and not neglecting your responsibility is what is important. Abstinence is not an option sometimes. I would rather he smoke pot savely. Then have him turn his back on us because we have condemd him to hell for it.

Hmmmm.... you just joined today as well. Another new user with no icon, uses sensationalism, and a controversial confession sure to rile up the feathers of Christians devoted to Law. Near perfect grammar, very little typos, same lengthy paragraphs.

I'm not buying this whole scenario. Something's rotten in Denmark. skepticalcat.png

I have to address that last one. Those people are not victims of pot smoking. There victims of mind altering drugs added to pot. There also victims of child abuse, rape, child molestation, and mental abuse. I was atacted by a child molester when I was in the 6th grade. My step father beat be black and blue from my ancles to my shoulders. Doller sized bruses with bleeding sores. Do not bring them into a conversation if you can not possibly understand what that have been through. I do understand. Thay are victims of mankind's failure to do what is necessary to end the threat. This forum is about smoking pot.

If you know and love Jesus the please help me to understand about his reasoning. Why did Jesus have all 12 of his disciples write about his ministry according to their own perception but never write a single word himself. I'd like to rule out that he was to busy or that he couldn't read or write himself. I personally can't believe either of those two answers.

So you decided to join CC only today and wasted no time asking a controversial question doubting God's Word and pretty much lure people in with "If you know and love Jesus" to give our opinion. But you pretty much just stated what you believe in the posts above where you are so certain that it's A-OK with Jesus to toke a joint. Hmmmmm....

I'm done stating my case here. I pray in Jesus' name the Lord's will be done.

There is no such thing as a "God-fearing stoner." If you smoke marijuana, you are not a christian because a TRUE christian would not smoke pot. You CAN be God-fearing, but you cannot be a stoner AND be God-fearing simultaneously. I'm sorry but I find the OP's post absolutely ridiculous. As tourist said, get GOD'S view on what he thinks of you smokin' mary jane.

Well for some of us there was a "transition period" but in the case of the OP it sounds as if he is in full gong mode.

As long as church goers confessing christianity are under the power of food...tv...an unequal standard of living...the false security of money...and the list goes on...
Then those same people should not point fingers at others under the power of other thingd. It is good to not be under the power of anything but God. If that is an approved goal by a person...keep opening the door of the bible for help in obtaining and keeping that goal.

Equality and all things common are not difficult to practise, but because so many are in bondage to various patterns of living and thinking...such. biblical practices are not sought as a goal and example of the love of God.

It is not good to be under the power of anything...including women.

There is actually two ways to look at it........

1. It is not those things that enter into a man that defiles a man.
2. All things are lawful, but not all things are expedient
3. God made every herb bearing seed
4. Let everything be done in moderation

And

5. Does it offend a weaker brother
6. Is it legal or illegal in the eyes of the law
7. How does it affect your witness
8. Is it necessary to function

Etc.........

DISCLAIMER....NOT NECESSARILY PROMOTING THE USE OF IT........AND OR SAYING IT IS OK!

I am sorry everyone!!! I suffer from PDSD because of my childhood. It's my love of God that keeps me sane. My love for my fellow man and the hope that one day we will learn what the right thing to do really is. God bless

It is no different than a person of excessive weight from eating food.
It is no different than a woman or a man needing the opposite sex for happiness or security or other reasons.
It is no different than church goers claiming to go to a building to worship...when the majority of the week their god which they spend the majority of their hours with is a tv.

The list goes on.

It is not good to be under the power of anything but God.
Romans 7 tells us that if we do what we do not want to do (do what we hate) it is not us who does it but sin in the flesh.

I suggest counting the cost...so you know good and well what you love and what you hate...then try not to do all that you hate by trying always to do what you approve of and love...which should be practicing the love of God as we learn more about the love of God...holiness...and so on.

Yes I see where you are going with this as yes there is a wrong way to use and abuse it as there is with anything people use. Even food can become a persons addiction a.k.a. sin, so can the TV, computer, phone, exct.......

Genesis tells us God gave every green herb that bears seed as food, and the cannabis plant is classified as such.
You can also use it to make rope, clothing, and other things......

As for your next set of things such as points 6, 7, and 8 the answers for those would be;
6) Depends on what state you live in and also rather it has been medically prescribed, as even in Missouri I know of a few people who have been medically prescribed marijuana. (Mainly for pain in cancer recovery)

7) Depends on illness as it has been prescribed to some with ADHD to calm them down, and I have seen it very effective in those cases.

8) This point goes with 7 as in the case of the ADHD person, and once again medically prescribed...

I do not promote the usage just for the purpose to get high as that would be abusive, but it does have its purposes......

I am what I like to call a God fearing stoner. I know people who smoke weed that are atheists, I know people that smoke that are christians. I myself smoke weed and am a christian. I always wondered what God's view on it would be. I've always thought that he put it here, it has medical uses, so therefore it was intended to be used. And then I like to think about Bob Marley, who I can almost guarantee is sitting up in Heaven with God, who smoked and always proclaimed his love for God. Always gave God credit for the things that he did. I am not looking for someone to tell me I shouldn't do it because it's illegal, I am simply looking for what God's view on it is. It has healing qualities and nobody has ever died from it, so it doesn't harm my body. It's not an addiction, and I didn't start doing it because I wanted to be cool. I started doing it because I figured there wasn't any point in speaking against something I had not already tried myself, when I tried it, I liked it. I continued, and I've had some pretty fun times with my friends too. So what is God's view on it?
Under Grace we overcome by the blood of the lamb and the word of our testimonies.
GOD is our rest.

Galations 5:2020 idolatry, SORCERY, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies,
Revelation 18:23And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy SORCERIES were all nations deceived.

The word SORCERY in these verses is the greek word pharmakeia, which we get the word pharmacy from. The negative use of this word to describe a sin is not about medicine but about mind-altering drugs. Pot is clearly a mind-altering drug and should not be used for that purpose. THAT is God's take on pot.

Food is a mind altering drug as well as women...tv...money...and so on.

If something can bring a person under its power...it is mind altering. For something to be a drug...I suppose it would have to be voted to be one?

Seriously, is it my imagination or are we getting similar posts every day or two written in the same format: long paragraphs with near perfect grammar, little to no typos, an in-depth confession of some controversial situation summed up with the question: "What does God think?" (Or, "What do you people think?")

They never have a pic or an icon.
Their thread titles are always dramatic or sensational
They always use the term "looking for a view" (either God's point of view or other users)
They seldom respond except for a few quick additional comments, and then they disappear.

It makes me think it's the same person with different user names or it's a whole team of geeks who enjoy mocking Christians.

I can promise you that I am definatly not making fun of any christian. I am a christian and I ain't making fun of any of you. I don't have an icon because I never set one. And it's just something I wanted to know

I used to smoke quite a bit before I born again. Let me ask you, which shady dealer do you go to get your gear? When supply runs dry and can't get any, how do you feel? How much does the chase suck when you can't get any? What happens when the cops bust you out? You going to proclaim Jesus as your saviour? Tell me, what kind of witness is that?
You live in a life of bondage and you don't even realise it, you are deceiving yourself and make up reasons to justify it. There are also spiritual consequences, you open up the doors of your mind to the demonic realm when you smoke, you might not see it now but give it a few years, if that.
I'm not saying any of this to condemn you or to put you down, just speaking plainly as you have with us. I pray that someday you will look back on the vileness of it and thank God for freeing you from it by His awesomeness.

And another thing, you don't want us to not touch it being illegal, yeah right!
Romans 13 1-2
Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. [SUP]2 [/SUP]Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment.

But that's the thing. I'm smart about it, so I don't get busted. I don't run out to school with a joint in my mouth. I don't have some sinking feeling when I can't get any, and I don't buy from a shady dealer, I buy from a friend I've known for years.

also, you say you have some pretty fun times with your friends. That's because you're high and your awareness is diminished, and people do some idiotic, asinine things when their under the influence of something. If the cops catch you or your buddies smoking pot, you'll have your butts hauled off to juvenile detention so fast it'll make your head spin. You also say no one's ever died from smoking pot. Do you have proof of that or are you just guessing? You are just mistaken if you think drugs don't harm your body. Yes, pot has medicinal qualities FOR THOSE WHO HAVE AN ILLNESS. You don't have any illnesses or diseases, do you?

God's view on drugs is "do not put any unclean thing in your body, for your body is God's temple." You are soiling God's temple!! You're 15, smoking pot, SUPPOSEDLY your a christian which is doubtful because you as a christian should have more sense than to try something you know isn't good for you. You are disappointing God greatly right now. Just because your friends smoke it, doesn't mean YOU have to. Grow up, you have alot of maturing to do yet, and quit smoking pot because God doesn't like his temple getting soiled and his children KNOWINGLY doing something wrong. smh

Maybe I should have been a bit clearer. What I meant by we have good times, is we sit around a bonfire listening to music and laughing and joking and it's been some of the most fun times of my life. We're not going out and egging somebody's house, or spray painting the police station. And why does everyone say I smoke and therefore am not a christian, my mom smokes cigarettes, does that mean she isn't a christian. Bob Marley smoked weed and as I said he was one of the proudest christians I've ever heard of. Always proclaiming his love for God

Okay Okay Okay, hold up. Let me clear a few things up.

I make pretty good grades, only failing algebra and let's face it, who didn't fail algebra?
What I meant by, I have good times is we just sit around a bonfire, listen to music and laugh and joke with eachother
We aren't doing anything stupid like tagging houses and stuff
Also, I don't get high every single day and drink and all that. In fact, I don't drink at all. And I usually only smoke maybe once or twice every few weeks on the weekend. And how many people are going to tell me that smoking makes me not christian? I mean seriously, smoking pot makes me not christian? I'm not putting it above God, I'm not addicted, I'm not doing anything like that.
