So the church should start teaching more grace then? How about teaching God's righteous judgment concerning cures and blessings because He doesn't change.
"Let us therefore fear, (5399) lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it." Hebrews 4:1
Where do we find the instructions of love? "thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the Lord." Leviticus 19:18
"There is no fear (5401) in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love." 1 John 4:18
These verses may seem to contradict each other but they don't.
fear 5399 to frighten, i.e. (passively) to be alarmed; by analogy, to be in awe of, i.e. revere:--be (+ sore) afraid, fear (exceedingly), reverence.
fear 5401 from a primary phebomai (to be put in fear); alarm or fright:--be afraid, + exceedingly, fear, terror.
One is human fear and the other is spiritual fear.
By the way, I was in Vietnam so I know about the military. That was during this nations decline that endorsed and tolerated moral decline during the movement of the hippie generation which is also my generation. The military was their worse enemy. Did we assist in their agenda by loving them man's way instead of God's way? "Perfect" love casts out fear, therefore let us fear.

The Bible says the Goodness of God leads men to repentance and that by mercy and truth iniquity is purged, not his anger or wrath.
PS: 1 John 4 is not at all about spiritual fear, but lawyers like you argue that case all the time, because you cannot get past the fact it is:
GOD GRACE + JESUS WORK = ONLY YOUR FAITH AND NOTHING ELSE YOU DO= EVERYTHING
