This thread is about biblical ways to minister to those who are broken. Please keep it to that only. Now it is almost 11:30 so I am going to bed.
No its not, since you just said you won't share your ways.

I remember when I was a teenager, watching one of those talk shows about couples where the wife had MPD. One of them talked about how when one personality manifested itself, scratches would appear on the woman's skin. It sure sounded supernatural to me.

Someone who doesn't believe that demons exist or demonize (closer to the Greek than 'possess') people might explain it all away with mental illness.

I would not blame all mental illness on demons. At the end of Matthew 4, Jesus cures those who are brought to Him, including those who were afflicted by unclean spirits and those who were 'lunatick'-- in the language of the KJV. Demonized and 'lunatick' are listed as separate categories

If a psychologists say someone has MPD, I don't know for sure that it's demonic in nature. But if someone is demonized and manifests a demonic personality speaking through him or her, I suspect it is likely that a psychologies just might identify that as MPD or dissacosiative personality disorder, or whatever they call it these days. If a modern secular psychologist saw a demoniac in Jesus day, he might attribute the personality issues to this disorder, and attribute the ability to break chains or beat up seven sons of priests to adrenaline.

As far as "Biblical" approaches are concerned, prayer is something we can do for any kind of affliction or ailment. It there is a demon actually manifesting itself, then commanding it to come out in Jesus name would seem to be the application of apostolic example in scripture.

in areas of the world where the enemy has control , it is illegal for professionals to tell the truth, and GOD, JESUS, angels and demons are not permitted to be recognized as 'real'.

this includes the untied states and eruopeia

I will not say how. Saying how will give a person up. You do not realize how fragile this conversation needs to be the psychologist who has chimed in can tell you that that is not wise. I will not argue over words and context and how I take them and you. This is not the thread for this. This thread actually is very serious.
The psychologist already told you this isn't wise. You keep going.

I was a counselor who worked with drug and alcohol addicts, runaway and throwaway kids and was a group home parent. (I too have helped rape targets and people with deep psychological problems.)

Skip this isn't wise, this is terrible! You could hurt even more people than you've already hurt.

I hope that you aren't classifying me as a character.

I just asked you to explain your use of this scripture on this thread. I'm sorry if I upset you.

no...I don't...I think we have that straightened out

I was upset, but not at you...I was upset at the tone this thread took...I don't agree with the op, but I really wanted to see what others thought, but sarcastic responses seem to have taken over...I wasn't coming back, but of course I'm curious to read what all happened

Thanks

This is very true but I want to steer closer to how to minister to alters than cast out demons. Alters are created by events in ones life that leave them broken. This traumatic event is often relived over and over again. That cycle needs to stop. Someone who is dissociative can go back to the point of the pain and ask Christ to take that pain away. But they must truly forgive the person who inflicted it. The trouble is it is up to the individual part of the person to forgive and break free from the torment not the other parts. The others can help. Bring light to the situation and can pray the others through but in most cases all the parts are doing is just getting by.

I think if you started looking to Jesus, and the hope found in him, instead of searching for the demonic, you would be much further ahead.

This, Angela, is disappointing

First you tell me that I "obviously do not believe in God's sovereignty" and this is after I used the word 'respectfully', indicating I did not want to argue but I disagreed with your interpretation even though I know many agree with you

Now, you appear to think I do not 'look to Jesus'

Do you realize how condescending and arrogant you are coming across?

None of which you state is true regarding my relationship with the Lord. You believe you know all about Romans 8 because you are memorizing it?

Again, you do not seem to grasp the simple fact I already mentionned. God works all things into HIS desire to conform us to the image of His son

That does not mean all things that happen are His will...any sinful act is not His will

Some people, and maybe I am wrong or perhaps it is the way you have addressed me, but some have the impression that God orders destruction and chaos and then magically intervenes and changes it into something good. God is not behind an act of murder or rape or any other sinful thing.

He can work out and He does work out all things...but those all things are not His perfect will. His perfect will is to conform us to the image of His Son...as v 29 states...it is not to restore things we loose or correct whatever goes wrong in our lives.

As far as Job goes, that is not an example that works for an illustration of Romans 8:28....many Christians who loose everything NEVER have what they have lost restored to them

As I said, you might have discussed your points, rather then slap me with the Bible

I think the direction that needs to be taken is if anyone has a different view point contrary to mine that Jesus can and does heal MPD/DID and it doesn't have yo take the rest of there lives then chime in and give biblical references to support your thoughts. Bible only.

most people, all over the world, and especially in the untied states, trust in man instead of in God,

and in man's ways, instead of in God's ways,

and in man's 'knowledge and wisdom', (which God's WORD talks about, btw, and it's not good), instead of God's WORD.

the society is not right. GOD'S WORD has always exposed this.

society is more dangerous than any disease.

I was asked about starting a thread about how to minister to those who have been hurt as bad as those who have MPD. I will give biblical references later and experiences but can only be vague in the interest of protecting those I minister to. So the mic is on go ahead.
A thread about "how to minister" -- by example?

OK it is really hard for me to speak of things in a thread of this caliber without directly addressing alters in a person when I see them. I am like Christ a respecter of persons. If you do not mind me addressing alters in your posts please write yes at the beginning to confirm that it is OK. I do want to say that each alter is safe with me. You will come to see that. Also if you want you can create another screen name to chime in. But what would help is if you are to do that lease don't have more than one. It could be taken as different people rather than different alters.and feel free to be yourself. You do not have to hold back. If your mad let it out. If your needing Jesus' hugs let us know. Jesus loves you.
Father God I come to you and pray for the alters in this child that you show them your live and held them in your arms. Show them now Lord the feeling they will feel when fully healed so they know what healing feels like and can strive for that. in Jesus name I pray amen.
"I do not recall seeing JesusIsAll place a 'yes' in his post..."

I do not plan on ministering like this. However I am open for it. You do not realize it but more than one who have responded are indeed multiple. I will not divulge who under any circumstances but more than one.
"But, you already have... Are you not aware of it?"

John20:23whose soever sins ye forgive, they are forgiven unto them; whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained.

For the most part forgiveness is not for the other person but for the person hurt so they can get healing

A thread about "how to minister" -- by example?

"I do not recall seeing JesusIsAll place a 'yes' in his post..."

Not a yes but came out addressing the post as an alter you wanted Jesus' hugs. Since there has not been many back and fourths I can only assume and would hate to call an alter a liar and a sham but can only assume this person speaks truthfully.

Don't tell who. Tell how. How do you know?
By "picking up on the clues" that are present in the way people talk, and what they say... If you have enough pertinent knowledge about a particular "arena" ( like MPD / DID ), you are able to "detect" things that are not readily seen by those who do not possess that knowledge.

EDIT: I am not trying to boast any particular knowledge; I am only saying that I understand the truth of what I have written above.

:)

yes, biblical often is unspoken/ unposted here, due to treasures , pearls, dogs and swine.....

Jesus Way is hidden from most posters, because the Father was pleased to hide it, as it is written in HIS WORD.

even when it is printed out, it is still hidden from most. (spirit to spirit, God teaches His Own; not man's way)

unrepentant sin is so common(much more common than not), and those who keep sin on purpose in their minds and hearts
cannot have clean fellowship with the Father , nor with Jesus or His people; sin of greed, or idolatry(heresy), divorce, adultery, covetousness, pride, selfishness, etc etc etc.... anything contrary to GOD'S WORD and not repented of
including going along with the world, or loving the world, the things of the world, or its ways....

total complete freedom is offered in JESUS, but almost never seen.

This thread is made to discuss biblical options to minister to people who are suffering.

No its not, since you just said you won't share your ways.

When dealing with MPD which is the preferred term to me and best describes the subject at hand you have to realize that there reality is different than ours. When they close there eyes in most cases it is not just the eyelids they see but a world beyond your imagination. The mind is a wonderful thing. In some cases while I am ministering to those with mpd the Lord allows me to see what they see and to lead them out of the dark and dreary dungeons they are in and into a garden where they can have peace and see the beauty that God has for them. I have asked on many occasions for the Lord to tear down what they see and replace it with other things to take out bad things and give them good. Without getting descriptive its hard to relay what I want and get across the transformation that can take place with prayer that availeth much.

"Absolutely -- this stuff is very serious -- and can be very dangerous -- and should never be 'played with'..."

Thank you so much. I tried to think of a way to say this but was not able to form it good enough. Thank you
