I still don't understand how your comment relates to the topic and....no statistics cant be used to prove anything unless the issue is probable. So statistics reporting 100 car accidents..... u cant use that to say all cars cause death...but u can use it to say 100 people were killed last month in a car accident. I said there were billions of stars with even more planets. The law of probability says its quite possible life is on those planets too. Astronomers are searching for planets with an atmosphere and evidence of water. I hope this answer helps

Probability still isn't certainty; we might still be alone in the universe.
I've only seen one car wreck thusfar.

there are some things that yahweh's people do not even think of - it does not even enter into the realm of their minds. look at the topics of many of the threads on this forum if you need examples.
did jesus criticize the gentiles for not being raised with an experiential and true knowledge of yahweh and HIS WORD ?
did the Jews? did the disciples ? ... the apostles ?\

the gentiles nations, all of them, were considered outcasts , heathen, pagans, without hope - right up until peter's dream when yahweh showed him then told him not to call the gentiles unclean any more, that yahweh had called (or made) clean (A MYSTERY!?)....

in EPHESIANS, the BELIEVERS --- what is written about them, and concerning them until they were purchased with the blood of the lamb who was slain for them.... ? ... simply that they also, all of them, everyone, was without hope in the world UNTIL !!!!<<<<>>>> yahshua.
UNTIL yahshua >>> "...when you were dead through the trespasses and sins [SUP]2 [/SUP]in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience. [SUP]3 [/SUP]Among these we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, following the desires of body and mind, and so we were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind. "....

there was and is a lot of cleaning to do, and it is helpful, life-giving, life-enhancing, encouraging IN CHRIST JESUS (not outside of him- outside of him there is only death, destruction, corruption)...

for us all. is he nice? is the world nice? is hasatan and his minions nice?

the world is lost and under a death sentence, all of it. us too, UNTIL <<<<>>>> yahshua

the thinking of the world is entirely evil. entirely, completely, fully. UNTIL <<<<>>>> yahshua.

the path the world is on is wide, and leads to death. only to death. nothing else.

the path in yahshua(jesus) is life, truth, salvation.

chose the world, or chose yahshua.
Poppycock!

Complete nonsense.

People are people and have thoughts and wonders and ponders about all sorts of stuff.

Being a child of God doesn't mean you wont ever consider life, the universe and where missing socks actually go to.

Being a child of God means that your brain is alive in ways it wasn't before and God EXPECTS and WANTS people to wonder and ask questions.

Stop coming down on people for asking questions you cannot answer!

I never ever said there anything was probable, but have asked people here that if they think life is possible or even probable elsewhere, , how does christian doctrine apply. That was in my original post.

The Bible doesn't mention alien life, a zillion stars doesn't change that.

No it doesnt, and nor does it mention space travel, black holes, and electrons yet they all do exist. Im, with all respect, hoping u get my point. I dont see it as wrong for us to open our minds to the possibility

:) thankyou very much for writing your thoughts. My dad has a telescope n we talk about galaxies and planets, so i think about this a lot

I love space. I actually really love science and God! i always wanted a telescope as a kid, but I never got it. The universe is so vast...so many galaxies we never will see but God knows every intricate detail for each one. It's breathtaking actually.

Ah, though your initial question was how christian doctrine relates to the possibility of alien life,
it seems you're only here to make a statement. If you're really that interested in christian doctrine, you should open your mind to what Christ has to say about loving your neighbour here on earth. But if ever I come across an alien I will love him just the same.

With complete respect to my brethren who feel life does not exist elsewhere, I would say the chances are not probable, but more than probable. Why would or should God pigeonhole Himself by creating such a vast, amazing Universe yet only have life on one beautiful, blue marble? As far as Christian doctrine applying, it has already been said that Jesus is Lord or all the Universe.

Didy, you make a valid point, but the Bible does not mention penguins yet they exist.

Jesus says He has other flocks. We assume He is talking about gentiles who believe in Him, yet it may mean something much more than that, something beyond our earthly home.

Genesis mentions God created all birds (Gen 1:21), a penguin is a bird, ergo penguins are in the Bible. :p

Sounds like mormon theology to me. (Btw John 3:16 just mentions ONE world.)

I love space too. The idea that time can contract or dilate as well and that its affected by mass. I just find the whole thing fascinating. Theres so much we just dont know. I dont want to close my mind to possibilities

I find it difficult to believe that God created ALL the planets, yet chose to put life on only ONE of them.. jmo.. and btw, alot of things that exist today are not mentioned in the bible..

JESUS came, died and rose again for all mankind...ONCE and only ONCE. Do you realize that if there were other human beings living and surviving on other planets that HE would have to hop, skip and jump around to all of them in order to bring them all to HIM? Each planet would have to have it's own Christmas and Easter, just like earth...HE would have to walk, talk, speak, heal, deliver as HE did here on earth to all other solar systems..and not leave anyone out..in all fairness..HOW does HE do it? HE has already done it for us earthlings..because we are the only descendents of Adam out there. JESUS came through a human lineage, as prophesied.

There's a LOT of stuff we don't know. Through more research of conflicting view points, it's evident that we know a lot less than what it appears. Don't trust in one publicized, "better" source than multiple credible ones. Pursuing this field of science can indoctrinate you to believe you are somehow smarter than God, and there is a findable answer for the universe out there.

I warn you: Be very skeptical of modern astrophysics, and cosmological and evolutionary theories. It's no doubt that some of their findings are testable and indeed correct. For example, evolution clearly plays a role in this world, but they can only speculate for the origins of these complex biological systems and DNA code. You have to look at these sciences objectively in order to weed through the pseudoscience. If you don't, you will be at risk of "worshiping" the secular science belief; better put: "worshiping" your own pride and intelligence.

I don't see that knowledge of space and time as being a threat to my religious beliefs. I actually think its developing them. I don't think good for me to put my head in the sand and say I wont explore new things being discovered. Space and time is a passion of mine so I don't think I can accept advice which suggests I shouldn't embrace it. I do promise to be sceptical about everything I learn and keep exploring :)

For those who are weak in their faith, and impressionable by mainstream media, will be in jeopardy. This is cautious advice. Just keep this in mind.

God created man in his own image.. does scripture mention God with only one image structure human being like? could it be his image of us for us on our own planet for which he designed us to live on.

Well the idea of Jesus hopping around planets.... well the thing is we cant say that life isnt possible elsewhere and nor are we able to comment on GODs possible plan in that regard. But like I said... its possible and even probable life elsewhere exists and if it does im curious what that would mean for christianity. I think for me it would broaden my understanding of the meaning of life and GOD

Did you know that time slows in the presence of a large mass. So as you travel past a mass such as a black hole, time slows down or theoretically stops as the mass approaches infinity.... isn't this space stuff just amazing ??????
