When we make a new thread, are we allowed to make simple rules as to what we want and don't want to see in the thread? Like for example to say no arguing.

Before 'making rules"..I would take a moment and ponder if the 'new' thread is worth having. So many here either run their course, or is NOT needed at all to have a successful CHRISTIAN chat. I know that CHRISTIANS have certain talents and such..but do we honestly need complaints, recipes, heresy chats, and more?

I only made that rule, because arguing makes things toxic. I don't understand why members can't just pm each other if they want to do that. And I said that it was okay if they wanted to have a debate so long as they didn't argue. Don't you guys get sick of fighting? Because it only hardens people. I realized that an argument might surface, but is it so hard to contain yourselves? And often times here, people say things that they they know will infuriate someone else. And I don't exclude myself from that because that's what I used to do.

Scratch that, I never even made it a rule. I just asked that people wouldn't do it.

So, it is okay to make that rule? Okay. I'll do that once in a while when I know a topic I created is gonna get heated.

It's not rule if I don't say it is. I know that I don't have the admin rights to make them stop, that why I asked them not to. They could argue all they want and I wouldn't be able to do a thing about it, but that potentially drives other users who would like to give some input away. And as believers we shouldn't be fighting period if a subject isn't ungodly. What's wrong with wanting someone to manage a simple "I disagree" or "I believe we should agree to disagree"? Is it okay to let christians fight?

And wouldn't it have been better to report the thread to the admin so that they could handle it, instead of making a thread about why you didn't like it? You accused me of starting a heated thread, but isn't stirring people up just as bad?

I didn't start the thread cause I hated your thread. I was asking a question cause it seemed like we were allowed to make a simple rule, but I wasn't sure. I don't want to fight about this silly little rule. I said before I'm not gonna copy people, but sometimes when I start a thread on any forum, I get debates and fights going and I leave when things don't go my way. I just am trying to not do that.

I apologize then, I shouldn't have assumed that without having more information.

It's okay, just forget I mentioned it.

Apology accepted.

And Blain: I understand. You can make rules, but expect 99.9999999999999% of the people to NOT follow them. I think I'm gonna pray to God about creating sensitive threads. If He says it's a sensitive subject, I'll not create it.

In that case unless you really want to I would avoid making threads about some of the following subjects- The rapture the tribulation the sabbath the law being sinless the kjv bible vs other bibles these are a few of what I call taboo subjects because even with the best intentions they only create war

Are we allowed? Yes. Will people respect the rules? Maybe not. And I mean I can understand if the person only saw the original post and didn't see any redactions to said rules.

my rule would be : no " perfect" people. I wish we could REAL Bible discussion fourm without these folks hi-jacking threads with their non-sense. go on off to never-never land and let the rest of us have real discussion.
