Once and for all............answer required...........and anyone can answer.......
Let us take the worst possible example you and others speak against...........a Woman Pastor.............egad! Say it ain't so....
Is a woman who becomes Ordained and accepts a position as a church Pastor a true woman of God and secure in her eternal salvation or not?
I know you are not addressing me, but since I am a woman and ordained pastor and I teach and preach in my church, I thought I would let you know I am secure in my salvation.
I've explained at least 50 times on here about the bad rendering of authentein, as authority (which is exousia) and how it is a hapax legomena and has over 50 meanings in contemporaneous sources - probably domineering is as good as possible.
As for the qualifications of deacons well that is a translational issue, too! Because most versions translate deaconnesses as "wives". Not saying it couldn't be, but if it is deaconnesses, then we could use those qualifications for women, assuming they could be the wives of one husband, of course! No polyandry allowed!
Then of course, there is the culture those passages were written too.
And finally, legalism by men who want women to remain "in their place." LOL
Now back to our regularly scheduled constant debate about the law versus grace and how to apply the law to grace or grace to the law or whatever.......
PS. I am not the only ordained woman pastor who posts in this forum!
