The moneychangers were ripping the people off by giving them inferior sacrifices for top dollar. Churches today are not doing this with fund raising(most churches aren't). Its a different principle than using God's house to rip people off
agreed. I've been twice blessed or 200 x blessed, in Churches. Take a look in the UK how many churches are closed. The same thing is happening here in the USA, there was a church that the people built from the ground up, collected the monthly building fund, and those doors are now closed, and have been for years. Doesn't mean were to stop believing in a God and a Savior, its just a building. So yeah and YaY.

Righteous indignation, the wicked exchangers were turning what was Holy into the profane,
Just a small taste of what is to come by meek and mild Jesus.
Beware of false prophets I got some spiders for them, if they come here. :) ladybird04.gif ladybird04.gif bug_13.gif bug_13.gif

To me, this is a reminder that even while Jesus was in His earthly body, as a man; he was still God, or at least retained many attributes of God. Whether He was expressing the Father's anger or His own; it was still Godly anger. If our human anger prompts us to destroy property and attack people: we sin and are punished for our action.
We know that Jesus did not sin. Therefore, the difference must be that we lack the authority to take such action; but Jesus did not lack such authority.

John 14:8-9 (KJV)
8 Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.
9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?

Hebrews 1:3 (KJV) Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

The cleansing of the temple or as I refer to it as the plot thickens. It's possible that Jesus did this twice once on a common day and once on Passover. The money changers would exchange Roman currency to temple currency in the process they would cheat the people of the worth. Then as the people bought what they had come for they would be cheated again as the scales and such were let's say fixed. At this market if you were getting ready for a festival you would purchase items that were need for that event. On Passover you would bring your sacrifice before the rabbis to inspect and guess what they would find a flaw and since time was of the essence they would sell you one. If you did not have a sacrifice to offer hey you could buy one for a steep price. Now the temple guards and the Roman guards would keep order to make sure that this went smoothly if you know what I mean. Hence no one got out of line. (Wall street at its finest). Then in walks Jesus knowing what was happening at this market place if you will. ....Oh and he was angry here the choosen of god the priests the Pharisees were robbing the people and paying for protection. But it gets better this is where Jesus publicly proclaims to be the son of God by saying( my father house) which you better believe the Jewish counsels heard. God is not against making money but it's how it's made and the intent of it.
Remember the building of the temple and the material that was needed , the trees of Lebanon where ithey were going to give as a gift or real cheep (having a senior moment) anyways God said he would purchase at a fair price. Business is business with God. Cheating the people in his name another thing, stealing from God, good luck.

Good Crossnote, you make it through the spiders. This is a deep thought and deep waters to dive into. If we or they have seen Jesus in the flesh, they have seen the Father. Any answer how is that, as God is a spirit, and called Love, I don't get it. Help. Ty.

WElcome to Christian Chat. Saw pictures of your children. Precious. Keep an eye on them. As for the River, it has rocks, better to stand on one, than to be underneath one, as build your house upon the Rock, of Christ, and when the wind and Waves arrive, it shall not be moved. :) View attachment 127433

They are doing the exact same things in all the churches. Cake sales, donuts submarine sandwiches, everything under the sun to raise funds, even percentages of websites, etc. I don't want to make a very long list, but this today in the churches is no different, they are selling things, and it's the same thing, so what should someone do.
Yes. Many are just like the moneychangers in the temple. People find ways to use the name of Jesus and market it. It's all about $$$$.

That's right. In essence, it was His Father's House.

No doubt.....and I agree........that is exactly why i will never wear my Christianity and or place it on a bumper sticker.......as far as bake sales and all of that...why not just give..........! The problem is covetousness......the bible states to labor that you may have to give to him that needs it instead of cramming your house, storage shed, barn etc. with more crap that maybe gets used 1 to 3 times and then collects dust!

Love it! Yes.
You understand the big idea, the implications, the substance of the matter. Wise discernment.
The bumper sticker especially! Agree completely.

[SUP] Numbers 33; {{ 55 [/SUP]But if ye will not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you; then it shall come to pass, that those which ye let remain of them shall be pricks in your eyes, and thorns in your sides, and shall vex you in the land wherein ye dwell.}}
[SUP]56 [/SUP]Moreover it shall come to pass, that I shall do unto you, as I thought to do unto them.

That scripture that says; "if you look for me you shall find me." HI all, something was on the Tv talking about driving out those in the Temple, and it just happened that I find it at the right time. Yes , our true teacher is the Holy Spirit, but a little help, from others, is a big help discovering the hidden treasures, that is called Wisdom in the Word. Connecting the Old and the New Testaments, we are to drive out, unclean thoughts, unholy desires, etc, bringing every thought into captivity, as the Lord drove out the money exchangers in that temple, and yes, it also happened in the Old Test,,, many times. When we look for that treasure, we need to expect it, for he said, you shall find me, when you look for me, with all your heart. I did ask this as a sincere question here, as some and maybe me, might perceive ourselves as door mats, but this is not so, reading the above verse, and another, is just as someone posted, if you've seen me you've seen the Father, it is that same character, of driving out, wickedness. I found the hidden treasures, with some help from ya all. :) :)

[SUP] Deuteronomy 3:18 [/SUP]And I commanded you at that time, saying, The Lord your God hath given you this land to possess it: ye shall pass over armed before your brethren the children of Israel, all that are meet for the war.
We see here the same character of God, and Jesus here. Christ made a whip, and God is telling those to drive out those wicked, and be armed. The book of Nehemiah, where he started building, and was bullying so much, that discouragment ended his tasks for the God of mankind, and then the Lord God told him, start building again, don't quit, don't get discouraged, don't give up, he was told, that every women, child, and man, be armed with a sword at their side, even while they were working, to fight for the right. There was once a war in the heavens, we know that, the wicked angel who rebelled against God, and and wanted to take his throne, their was a battle, now the spiritual battles, we need to fight, against wickedness, in high places, principalities, and powers, strongholds, over cities, peoples, etc. These are strongholds, every battle God was in, and every battle he will be with us, he does fight for us, when we let go, we get into faith, and this pleases God. Think of it this way, let go of that insecurity blanket, and Faith steps in to cover us, put on the shield of Faith. :)
