The deer here are much smaller and way less judgy than what I'm used to.
They probably don't have as much food and/or legalistic intentions in that part of the country.

SeoulSearch and CatHerder? Cool!!
Now how in the hee haw would I know anything about pierogies?

Do I LOOK Polish to you, hmm???!!!

I'm still stressed enough over the "Women Must Learn How To Bake Cookies To Catch a Man" thread to even think about potato-filled pockets of dough.

However, several years ago I tried to make Butternut Squash Ravioli from scratch that might very well have counted as a half-hearted attempt. The "pasta" turned out so thick and dough-y... that I just wound up breaking open every single "ravioli" and just eating the filling. Sigh.

Alas. If cooking is the way to a man's heart, I am really out of luck. (Yes. I just said "luck" on a Christian forum. I get off work at 10, please don't light your torches and put down those friggin' pitchforks until 9:45.)

Actually, my vote would have been:

Catherder and Olerica (look out, Paula Deen... them white folk are gonna put you to shame!)

Catherder and skylove

Catherder and gypsygirl, back in the day

Catherder and Catherder (seeing as he's said, and I think on more than one occasion, that he's far too good-looking and rich to nab just any single person.) :p

P.S. For anyone trying to win Catherder's heart... just ask him to lunch at Ikea. Walking through rooms of staged kitchens iw pretty much the Catherder Edition of standing on the mast of the "Titanic" and screaming, "I'm the King of the World('s Largest Kitchen)!"

Oh, I don't know.

I hear polygamy is making a comeback.

After all, you could always start a thread about it...

I'm thinking of "Rachel and Leah, Version 2015."

Who could have known it was all going to rest on pierogies.

That is, of course, unless Catherder wants to have 12 more kids.

Along with the pot./cheese ones, I also make them with sauerkraut, mainly at Easter, they go great with the k'basi, but I make them 3 or 4 times a year and also will be happy to share...more in next post...
ChickSticks, my recipe uses sourcream in the dough, does yours as well? (Don't give away g'mom's recipe) Also when making piroghies, I usually make 'pogache' and we also have 'hrudka' with them at Easter. I'll happily share these treats with you, maybe we can even ship/trade frozen piroghies, although I generally freeze mine before boiling if I have to, and don't know anything about 'flash-freezing' at home, or I'll freeze after sautèeing in butter and thinly sliced onions, but they're never as good re-heated as they are hot from the pan. Feel free to connect, it's your call. Hallelujah Anyhow! :)
Sydlit...I will definetely PM to discuss recipes. There are many in my family who say a Pierogi without kraut is an imposter. I prefer the potato, cheese, and garlic ones..lol. I make a few of the batches with kraut and homemade horseradish for the holidays. That really clears out your sinuses.

I dunno... I used to believe "anyone who can read can cook" but then I met some people who really just can not cook.

Lynx you're right ..I have a met a few as well. A truer statement is anyone who wants to learn to cook can...probably.

Everyone is probably sick of hearing about Pierogis but during last years making a friend came out for weekend so I was gonna teach her. We had gotten through making the dough and when I told her the next steps of rolling and cutting she looked at me and said "this is way too much work -Im out" and sat and chatted while I finished LOL.

You have to enjoy it to be good at it.
