For Pete's sake, Melita... You need to track this guy down and get that dessert (ask him for a snocone.)

After that, you need to propose to him and live happily ever after!!! (Sorry... I'm a sucker for a creative romantic who knows how to work the magic, despite economic challenges!)
see what had happen was.......

i dated him for almost 5 yrs, and well.. as we can see, it didn't last. lol! i can't propose to him (gags! lol) cuz he's engaged now. i don't want a snocone from him anyway!!!! lol

but yes, he does get kudos for being creative. i prefer creativity over the dude spending lots of money on a date.

And here I was planning your wedding in my head and everything! :) I'm sorry it didn't work out :(.

Here's to hoping the next creative romantic guy who comes your way has a DVD of something awesome... and a snocone. :p

My best date ever is one I planned. Which I feel is totally acceptable!!! HOT AIR BALLOON ride with a champagne breakfast afterwords. My dates - my beautiful children! It was a wonderful experience.
If I ever ask a woman to marry me I'm doing it in a hot air balloon, and if she says no I'm throwing her overboard. He he. :p

Speaking of best dates, the day I came back home for good from active duty, my girlfriend at the time was waiting for me at the airport. The only thing I remember about that night is that we were the only two people on the face of the Earth.

I met this guy when I lived in NYC. After a month and a half of us talking, he asked me out. He took me to go kayaking, and then had dinner on the beach.

By far the most fun I've ever had on a date.

Every time my husband and I went out exploring places and looking for adventure, that was my best date ever.

Aw, I'm sorry to intrude at all Melita. :( I'm glad things worked out for the best and that you know why.

You'll have to forgive me.

Maybe I just really want to plan someone's wedding!!!

I guess I could always head on over to The Bonfire Thread and work on ServantStrike's wedding instead...

All these romantic stories are making me a little wistful... And if I can't have romance, doggone it, I'm going to start mercilessly planning (and perhaps imposing) romance for OTHER people!!!

MUHAHAHAHAH!!

Would the best date ever be if someone took you out for a snocone?

I actually just got back from a great date.

He's British...so beautiful accent and beautiful manners.

It was a lunch date that finished at 5:45 because we had so much fun talking. God bless the waitress whose table we occupied for so long.

The best dates I've been on have been with guys who were low on cash and honest about it, but who got creative.

A Happy Meal picnic by the river (where the toy I got fell into the water and the guy jumped in to save it).

Walking together as the sun went down, eventually stopping for ice cream and then wandering some more while we talked.

Sitting on top of the sand rock ridge that overlooks the town I grew up in, on a chilly fall evening, sipping coffee.

Dates were always more fun when I didn't feel pressured to be constantly impressed.

I mean...I always thought it was nice of a guy to put a lot of effort into impressing, but he'd spend so much time on just THAT that we'd end the evening exhausted and still know nothing about each other.

Guys- want to really impress a girl? Be a good conversationalist :p
...and maybe have like, super powers, you know, as a back up :D

Best date ever. Me and him watching the sunset that he captured on video using his phone. He asked if he can kiss me. I almost cried because he was on the other side of the world. Victims of love. What I can do im just a hopeless romantic. I was so attracted to him that anything even the most boring thing that we shared felt special.

Aww, Tinkerbell, bless your heart. :( That's really sad and sweet at the same time.

Queen's english eh? Fine manners.... fairly tall order....

(Poet Mary's my heroine, btw. She wrangles the PP boys down in bible discussions (Protestant Police). After 15 minutes of Poet's Catholic defense the PP's got nothing but the women shouldn't teach trump card.)

British accent then. Ok,I can do that. Tally ho ole boy! Bob's your uncle then. Awfully warm out this summa; it MUST be in the 70's.

It's the manners that's going to be the stumper...
