There's a dish, quite the morbid one, that I just cant eat, they call it 'Smalahove'...well...it means 'sheep head'...and it is just as morbid as it sounds...lol
lol
I never tried it, but it is a good dish really, as it uses parts of the animal that would otherwise be thrown away
along with lungemos / haggis (which tastes little or nothing :p )

Around here we have a dish called Feijoada, and it is made with black beans and parts of pork that people usually don't regularly use, like the tail, and nose, and ears, and feet... but they also use regular meat, and it's absolutely wonderful!! :)

It's served with rice, fried portuguese cabbage, oranges, and farofa (that is a sort of manioc powder that we call farinha and we fry it with onions, butter and things like that).

That looks great, Carol...
I used to be within walking distance of a Brazilian restaurant (sadly the owner closed it to pursue other business)....i remember trying farofa together with steak, rice and red beans on the side....i wasn't a big fan of the faroffa, but loved everything else. Also, really really good Guarana soda

Huahuahua!! Yeah.. I understand farofa can be quite weird to those not used to it... but I love it with all my heart (and stomach) hehehehe
