Oh yinz and your "schooling" got nothing on me. I only went to seminary for two years. But, my dad was a youth pastor and my mom was a second grade teacher in a Christian school. Let's see yinz make it without serious Biblical teaching when your mom is a Christian school teacher LOL!

When I do a verse by verse study of any scripture, I begin with prayer, then open four to twelve Bible translations, two dictionaries, a Hebrew/Greek to English App, and three to twelve books/commentaries. I also have three trusted pastors/teachers a phone call away. What always amazes me is how several different opinions work together to provide the message that God has for me through this study. When I finish my study, I thank God for the answer that he has provided me.

What bothers me here is the large number of people who believe that they are experts on any topic posted, and everyone else is wrong, or disagree with everything posted. I don't care who you are, everything that you are posting, regardless of how you believe you arrived at it, is your opinion to all of us who read it. Keep that in mind when we respond with our opinion.
Everyone's entitled to my opinion. :p

Seriously, my Brother, I am blown away at your steadfast conviction to ascertain Truth.

Prayer, several Bible translations, trusted pastors, and God.

I am humbly honored and exceedingly grateful to call you a Brother in Christ. :)

So you have no problem with a person who belittles, demeans, and passes false allegations on another person ???

Does baring false witness on another not matter to you ???
Btw, to answer your question, "yes", I do have a problem with people who do the same, but we're not to take such things PERSONALLY. Should people be called out on the same? Yes, they should, but not to the point that you've taken it with the likes of dcon and vice versa. Seriously, the two of you should just get a room. Anyhow, you weren't one of the "temperamental crybabies" whom I was referring to, but you are starting to sound a bit like one. Just give it a rest. People have "belittled" and "demeaned" you and made "false allegations" against you? Hey, people did and still do the same things to Jesus and the Apostles and their words, right? They didn't go on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on with them about it though, did they? Seriously, just give it a rest.

For whatever it's worth, I understood exactly what you were saying when you first said it and even moreso when somebody else just quoted it while applying a wrong application to your words. There are always going to be those who will hear what they want to hear and it's best not to waste time defending yourself or your words. Once or twice? Fine, but when it becomes a situation where every word that you say is misapplied, then it's probably best to just drop off speaking to certain individuals. Like I said, for whatever it's worth (usually nothing around here...lol).

Yes I understand that and I thank you for understanding what I was saying.

I should just drop it and leave it be with them but that is another issue I still struggle with because when I know and trust that God would not lead me astray, and what His Holy Spirit tells me is the truth for He can not lie.

My feelings of love for those who are new to the faith or still weak in the word as the bible says new believers will be, I can not sit idly by and let them think I am a false teacher as so badly been misapplied by others on me. The truth in His word is being squashed, watered down, and misapplied in man made doctrines now days.

How many times have you heard a person tell another on here they don't have to be baptized ???

The Lord was baptized, He commanded it to continue, the Apostles also continued to do it and command it.
If it is a command from the Lord then it is a clear instruction to be done from God Himself !!!

Hi Kenneth, crossed wires....

JesusistheChrist was saying she had no problem with what I said that Billy mentioned, not Angela who was belittling you.

Answer: (JesusistheChrist)I have no problem with what she stated and I know exactly what she is talking about. Often, there are "nice" (even if people disagree) conversations going on until some temperamental crybaby shows up and starts bemoaning how offended they are for some reason or another.

Anyhow, may I ask you what that is a picture of in your avatar? I've been curious since I first saw it. Thank you.

I think I got that right?
Except that I'm not a "she"...

When you hang around here for a while you will see many of these circling of the wagons posts. I guarantee that any post relating to any form of eternal security, tongues, tithes, or how the law is applied, will bring out the worst in select groups. Regardless of how we spin it, the current dispute sprung from a discussion of one of those topics.

Ancient water fall on Mars.
This is my second time through here (I cancelled my account under this same username a while back and I recently returned...God only knows why), so I'm pretty familiar with how things normally go around here.

Ancient waterfall on Mars? How appropriate. This place reminds me of outer space.

Well I was just asking you a question and as for my issues with Dcon, he is the one that instead of coming into a thread and having a respectful debate comes right in and immediately starts in on me.

I would have no issue with him if he would stay respectful or just ignore me if he doesn't like me, but he will not leave it be.

I have done that and have even put him on ignore before, but just like with Angela I have asked over and over again for them to please stop those false allegations or move on.

You say we are not to take it personally, but does the bible not say we are to call them out when they are operating in an unedifying manner ??? Yes it does !!!

I did not forget what I said and again you are reading into what I said and making it out to be more then that.

In my statements you highlighted was not judging or condemning people who go to bible college or Seminary school.

It was calling those out for their attitude and treatment of others who haven't gone to them !!!

Again please read careful what I say or have said, ask questions before making blatant false accusations, and understand just because you feel something worked for you does not mean it is needed or applies in all cases.

As others who have not taken the same route as you does not make them uneducated as you applied !!!

Like I said before I know ministers who never went to either bible college or Seminary school, and yet still have over 25+ years of study under their belt and can bible thump everybody on here including me and make us look like we just began studying even though we have many years as well of study under us.

I have 6 years under me in the ministry, and a combined 24 years of study with 14 years of those coming from a Baptist background in study classes..........
Since not only me, but quite a few other people truly believe that you were condemning those who have been to Seminary, which was quite clear in the last post of mine where I brought back the first post where you said you do not believe people who go to Seminary "know everything?" Perhaps, rather than being misinterpreted, you actually were highly unclear in your statement?

And I certainly do not know one person who went to Seminary that would ever claim that they know everything. However, I do defend my theology using the Bible, and that includes to angry, nasty people who rant and rail and really don't use the bible to defend their beliefs. And I do not know one person who went to Seminary that thinks they are "better than" people that don't. Not everyone is called to Seminary, and not everyone has the ability to stick it out through the very hard grind of learning, studying, and probably working a job as well as already being a bi-vocational pastor, (with young kids) as most of the people I went to Seminary were. I had it easy compared to most of my fellow classmates.

Rather than being so defensive about what everyone posts, but not seeing the way your words appear to others, it is time to take the log out of your own eye?

Your posts towards me are in attack mode in this thread. I have tried to be patient with you, but I get accused of making

"blatant false accusations."

God wants us to stop pointing fingers, and do the work he has called us to do. In my case, I am a teacher. I am a teacher by upbringing (my father was a teacher), by training - (I was a school teacher for 28 years) and by calling (I have always taught in the church!)

I try and teach in this forum, offer comfort in other forums and sometimes have fun, like in SYM or in Misc. I do admit, I resent people who constantly tell me I am wrong, but post no sources, no links, or even Scriptures (not talking about you, necessarily, Kenneth!)

This entire forum would be so much better off if people would stop the personal attacks, the defensiveness and actually discuss the topic of the OP. Using Scriptures, books, links or whatever.

But I am not going to go with "God told ME, so!" Esp. when what that person says denies what is in the Bible (just speaking generally!) or twists Scriptures to conform to their doctrines, rather than using the Bible to form doctrines from.

And if somebody doesn't change after being called out for the same thing repeatedly? Seriously, just walk away from such discussions. I'm sorry, but you're just as guilty as they are if you engage in the same things with them over and over and over and over again (and you can add several hundred more "overs" probably). Of course, you'll justify yourself by saying that you're just standing for the truth, but how can you be standing for the truth when you're ignoring God's instructions in how to deal with those who simply won't listen?

As was illustrated earlier, I do agree, there is a time to just walk away!

Kenneth and JesusistheChrist, God bless you both, I appreciate you!

I'm glad you're back. I thought I recognized the name. A lot of our members have left in the last few months because of the anger stirred when discussing those topics.

I am done conversing with you as again you make blatant false allegations, as it was only you and a couple others who read that into it without asking.

For I also have a couple others who have mentioned that they did not read what you have read in my responses.

Secondly I never said you personally, as I was saying "those" not "all".

So I am done speaking to you and will not respond again to you unless you can refrain from the false allegations.

First of all, I'm far from innocent myself in that I've gone back and forth with certain individuals more times than I should have in the past. I'm determined not to go that route anymore and to try to utilize whatever time that I actually spend here more effectively by seeking to discuss the things of God with those who genuinely seem to be interested in the same. Now, that will sound "judgmental", but I really don't care. I'm of the firm conviction that several forum members here revel in strife and some here are also wannabe preachers who stand upon their soap boxes and preach the most ridiculous things. I read a post yesterday that advertised itself as being an eye-opener and I wanted to pluck out my own eyes and eat them after reading just the first few sentences. It's hard to overcome the temptation to engage such folks because there's always this inward hope that you might be able to reason with them, but I'm seriously going to try to avoid the same and seek out those who might help me in my own walk with Christ as I also hopefully help them in their walk with Christ. It's probably a pipedream, but, hey, it just might work. I think that I'm done for the night.
