I watched a video last night from a man who once believed in allah and the quran, but has found the truth in Christ. And he shared how he found the truth. He was talking about how many muslims will tell you they have read both the holy bible, and the quran, and that the two books mostly say the same thing. He then talked about how this is NOT a truthful thing to say, and that the two books actually lay in opposition with each other, and are outwarldy comparable. And he brought up one big way that they are not the same, sacrifice. If you read the torah, it tells you 100% how man finds mercy and forgiveness for their sins. Through a sacrifice. The Jewish people did make annual sacrifices for their sins, an innocent lambs blood was shed in order for sins to be forgiven. In fact, the book Hebrews tells us, the spilling of blood is the only way to atone for sin. And the torah also gave us prophecies, in like many many books, about the Messiah, and how He would give Himself to us as our eternal sacrifice.
Now, go to the gospel, and it IS the same thing. When John saw Christ coming, he pointed his followers to Him, and told them that He was the "Lamb of God". And this is 100% what the gospel is about. The Messiah has come to shed His blood to cleanse us of our sins, through the Messiah we are eternally covered for all of our transgressions against God.
This is the story of the bible, the story of how God has come to save men, and bring them back to Him.
Now, go to the quran. And what does the quran say?
First, any muslim will tell you, no one can give their life for anothers sin. If you understand the prophecies of the torah, you automatically should know this person is not of God.
And how does allah tell us that the sins of men are forgiven? Through a meteorite, fallen from space. Muslims are told that all followers of allah must make the hajj to mecca at least once in their lifetime, in order to do their ritual before the kabaa stone, which absorbs the sins of man. In fact many muslims say the kabaa stone is black because of all the sins it has absorbed. The torah tells us the Messiah will be the right hand of God. But, the quran tells us that this rock is allahs right hand. Think about that, doesnt that almost seem disrespectful of what God has done for us?
So, where is the sacrifice made for the muslim people? If the torah and the gospel are from allah, what has taken the place of their transgressions? What has been sacrificed to cleanse them of their sins? The quran has taken the biggest work of God, and replaced it with a rock. Literally. This is only one of the many ways the quran stands against the holy bible.
