Yes the miss place blame game our society has lead people into believing is ridiculous.
Me and my sisters grew up listening to the same music, watching the same movies, and playing the same video games that they try to say causes people to kill and steal. But because of the environment we grew up with good parents disciplining us we never murdered anybody.
Murdering is frowned upon despite culture... Most cultures condemn that.
Yeah, and who monitors your TV intake? Your parents. Who buys you the games? Your parents. And besides this, the issue is not murder but homosexuality. If you can parelles that and murder, you could parelle fornication and murder.
I agree it is getting harder to control these things, with the internet making content far easier to retrieve and both parents working.
But it's astounding that one minute, Christians may blame society for corrupting their kids, but if someone points to society as the greater influence of their sins (that Christians don't like) then the "no one pulls your strings and take responsibility for yourself" card is pulled. The card that in this context isn't favorable.
The Bible puts the onus on the parent to raise the children - not the culture around them. "You are not of this world" oh but the world need to bend for us so that our kids will sin less!
