I remember a time where people would feel comfortable leaving their doors unlocked and now you don't even dare do that unless you want the Boogeyman to come get you while your sleeping

I've never met the Boogeyman. Tell me, what music does he like to boogey to? :)

I'm not scared of the Boogeyman.

It's the Boogerman (and he's usually about 3 years old) that REALLY frightens me.

I'm just a bill
Yes, I'm only a bill
And I'm sitting here on Capitol Hill
Well, it's a long, long journey
To the capital city
It's a long, long wait
While I'm sitting in committee
But I know I'll be a law someday
At least I hope and pray that I will
But today I am still just a bill.

That's good, unfortunately the way this world is coming to, you may never know what may happen. I had a neighbor growing up who always thought of my sister and I as his granddaughters and he had the code for his safe written on his wall for all to see and some person took advantage of this and cleaned him out.

I remember when I lived in Pennsylvania and the autumns were so colorful and beautiful! Texas pales in comparison. :p

Yes....when I lived there is when I fell in love with fall and Hershey chocolate. Of course that's when their chocolate was real chocolate and not crap to taste like chocolate.

We do for most part here too! However my house does warn any one that there is nothing inside worth dying for with a picture of a gun! ;)

I remember as a kid a parent wasn't afraid to give their unruly child a spanking or a slap on the wrist in the store, nowadays discipline has become a dirty word because they fear it will harm the kid. I was spanked and received a slap on the wrist and I turned out fine, I think:confused:

Ok, we are definitely bosom friends. I so wanted my mom to buy me everything Strawberry Shortcake. But alas, she didn't.

Remember playing kick the can and ghost in the graveyard till dark with the neighborhood kids

remember playing miss Mary Mack a hand clapping game with girlfriends

remember waiting for schoolhouse rock cartoons between commercials of sat am cartoons

remember playing in the alleys of chicago because our parents didn't worry about kidnappers (okay maybe this was just me)

remember er covering your textbooks with paper garbage bags because that was cool

remember shopping for your new lunch box for the school year and taking forever picking the choice...strawberry shortcake was mine

remember getting your first sleeping bag because you were old enough to start going to a sleepover and picking it out? Again strawberry shortcake

The Iron Giant was ruined for me, because one of my siblings would watch that over n over. It drove me crazy lol. To this day I can't watch it.

Remember when Shadow made us all cry?
*wipes the tears away*
I've always wondered, did Chance and Sassy know that Shadow was coming behind them? Or did they think he was stuck in the mud still? What do you all think?

Elementary school had duck n cover drills.

The teacher pulled the heavy curtain or drape (made of rubber) over the windows. Lights out. And we were under (duck) our desks with one hand over the back of our neck, the other hand covering forehead or eyes. Can't remember exactly.
It was fun, but it was a bit chilling. Elementary age. And the siren sounded deathly. Gray. Empty. We had to be quite. It was for possible earthquakes or air raids. Or nuclear missile strike. We would have been dead for sure if it the last ever happened.
