All right, Mister. Put those worms back!

Maybe sometimes they are angels and already live there.

Where does the Bible say animals must be born again? Would you not include them in the rest of creation that fell as a direct result of man's transgression against God? When God created them, He said they were good. They have His breath in them to animate them, just as we do.

actually they don't. God did not spccifically breathe life into them like He did into man.

For the creation waits with eager longing for
the revealing of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God.
This refers to the new heaven and the new earth. It says nothing about animals. But dream on :)

I believe in what Jesus did after he said that to Nicodemus. This is for another thread, though. Tell us more about puppy and kitty souls.
Okay, sure :)

And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living soul.

It is safe to assume that flesh plus the breath of God equals a living soul. Capiche? In other words, you do not have a soul, you are a living soul. The word soul in Hebrew is nephesh, meaning “an animated, breathing, conscious, and living being.” Does that not describe animals? When you die, your flesh remains. The breath of God, often referred to as the life and power of God (the Hebrew word for spirit is ruach, which means “wind, breath, air, spirit”), departs your flesh upon death. You are no longer a living soul, but a corpse. Animals are the same. They are animated by the same breath of life from God. Why is it such a stretch for you to believe they will share in the afterlife? Some are specifically mentioned in the Scriptures I gave previously. Surely there are others.

"The Spirit of God has made me, And the breath of the Almighty gives me life."

And so I digress but...

Maybe they come back as worms.

Worms that must be put back into a can.

Sirk, WHAT DID YOU DO???

Everything was peaceful until you started this thread...

Oh snap!!! This is the Bible Discussion Forum. Nothing is every peaceful here. My bad... carry on.

My apologies to Sirk. My medications--which I'm usually good at remembering to take every time I enter the BDF--haven't quite kicked in yet.

Ok ya'll. The thread title is a metaphor. It's sort of a parallel thread to the one asking if it is okay for a Christian to defend themselves and others. The term sheepdog is a metaphor of someone who is willing to use violence and even die for another person. The sheep in the thread title is a person who is incapable of defending themselves....like a sheep.

In other words, you do not believe what Jesus said.
I believe Jesus was saying it to Nicodemus before Jesus delivered salvation to the world at His sacrifice.

edit: answered 2 of your off-topic questions. Still waiting on puppy and kitty souls. I'm pretty patient with deflection, but it's wearing thin.

But it is wrong for me to believe that people need to be born again of the Spirit? Quoting Scripture and believing what it says is "pushing" something? You decidedly gave that impression when you said this:

It was my understanding from before you push the literal concept of "born again"?

Exactly. Your line of questioning my biblical interpretation is, in essence, challenging my position.

Ok, you've transitioned from deflection to outward misrepresentation. Done discussing with you. Have a great time without my responses until I see better behavior.

LOL. I had to ask the same question of you three times before you swerved from your deflections and obfuscations and finally answered. For the record, despite your dishonest portrayal, I have already answered your question, and I answered it right away. Meanwhile you have still not answered mine... but no worries. I know you cannot. You would rather deflect and misrepresent.

Where does the Bible say animals must be born again?

What I really wanna know is....what are some examples of sheepdog or Ram (as GIS described it) like behavior from the bible? Did they go to heaven?
