Yep. And some of us ungodly ones don't.
Wrong! A godly man doesnt reduce a woman to a bunch of degrading titles that fulfill his needs making her into a possession that fills all his requirements. . A godly man speaks as Christ would because his character is godly. A godly man is a gentleman and treats a woman as Christ treats the church. A godly man exudes the fruit of spirit.

I don't even know how to combat the audacity here.

Part of the deal is that society has trouble with women being sexual creatures. So, while a man can be successful in business, intelligent, leap tall building, AND also sexual, there's this tendency to want to compartmentalize women.

Mothers aren't sexual (forget how they got to be mothers in the first place). If you're an educated professional, you're not sexual. If you're shopping for groceries you're not sexual.

For a woman to be sexual she has to be framed in a certain way. We need to imagine that she's dressed in particular kinds of clothes and we use certain words to refer to her sexuality to separate it from the rest of womankind....these words are all shaming.

Additionally, there's a HUGE disconnect between the idea that a woman can be virtuous (meaning ethically good) and also sexual. There are "good" girls who aren't sexual and then there are the morally dicey women that are.

So you end up with no real adult way for Christian people to discuss female sexuality, even in a really superficial sort of way.

It is super-disappointing, however, when Christian men talk about women in such a reductionistic way.
This thread is not about womens sexual prowess.

No worries, Siberian.

I'm not trying to say any man here was actually trying to say he wanted a "whore".

But it did seem to leave the door wide open for a discussion as to why many men, Christian or not, want fictionalized "whore-like" qualities in a woman.

P.S. I believe with all my heart you're a good guy, SK, and will fully endorse that, no matter how you choose to identify your spiritual status.

Yup. It goes both ways.

But some women have absolutely no interest in 50 Shades of Grey.

I don't need an abusive billionaire boyfriend.

I already have a job.
And then there's James Bond... That guy gets around.

I've always wondered why they haven't made a movie in the series called James Bond in Real Life: 007 vs. H.I.V.

Cool, no worries. :) And that's totally a fair subject matter. It was kind of bothering me that he seemed to be getting crucified over that absurd adage, but I didn't mean to give anyone a hard time over taking it that way.

Oh yeah its so audacious of me to speak the truth isnt it instead of respond with a sarcastic smart elec remark. Grow up dude.
That sounded pretty sarcastic to me. ;)

Men look for traditional women
Each man is different and wants / needs different things. To put them all in a box and neatly say, "A Man wants A, B and C." is a bit silly. :) But that's okay. I like silly. It's good for comedy.

The trick is, if you see a man who YOU want... you need to talk to him and see what HE wants... cause if it's a match! Rock, Rock On! ;-)

Do they? I don't see that. They may want some of those qualities but they aren't looking for traditional women.

p.s.On the other side of that I think women are pretty much the same.

she should respect me greatly as-well.
She "should"? She owes you that? Interesting. The following vomit worthy responses are 100% totally devoid of respect for women, what they've faced in history and in the world today. If you had any respect for yourself and what others read of you on the internet, you would've sat down and done some earnest self reflection and told yourself you're in dire need of an education before you go out and make yourself look so incredibly stupid. Worse still, people actually gullibly influenced by what you've said.

I mean full blown 100% all out for G-d. I mean she doesn't mind talking about G-d. She will give up all things of the world... all for G-d.
She doesn't mind talking about God vs gives up all things for God, two ends of an extreme.

Also, feminism stems from that and feminism promotes the idea that men shouldn't lead their families and that's exactly what G-d wants. Scripture clearly states that women are to look to the home as shown in Proverbs 31 and feminism for that matter would be against that.

You really need to be educated about what feminism is and its multi dimensional facets, your comments are incredibly ignorant and dangerous.

isn't infected by feminism and instead is all out for G-d.. that's all any man needs really.

That's one of the saddest yet laughable, most ignorant comments I've ever read on this site. I wonder if all the Christ like couples that I know whose marriages expand 20 - 40 years ignore the principles of feminism, like equal rates and equal pay. I wonder if the men said "i hope you're not 'infected' by feminism otherwise that wouldn't be Christ like and that therefore means I couldn't have anything to do with you."

Feminism in today's age has so much more to it than equal rights and equal pay and the society that we live in should be more 'affected' and influenced not 'infected' as you so inappropriately framed it, by feminism. We as woman, have a long way to go in how we're treated by men, the judicial system, by societal attitudes and prejudices and in the work force. I know many women who have had bad experiences at the hands of men, in all those facets. The only thing that I hope for them is that they find those who of the opposite gender and a world that is educated, an advocate for and has an actual informed understanding of feminism and the challenges women face today. That is far more "for God" than anything I've seen in your responses.

It be nice if she were clean too lol
I'm sure she'll make an effort to bathe herself properly for you. If she doesn't, you can be standing outside the bathroom door, with a cleansing barometer lecturing her on how Christ like it isn't for her to not meet your clean standards. We wouldn't want her to be 'infected' by feminism and how ungodly that would be.

This question may deserve its own thread, but I am going to ask this here because we have already veered away from the topic. (Feel free to report this to a mod, if you think this should be a separate thread).

Is sex a godly act?

I don't think there is anything godly about sex, so it doesn't matter what a husband and wife do to each other, so long as it is mutually consensual and neither person feels disrespected. I think sex is an expression of our most despicable desires (throwback to one of seoulsearch's old signatures). Love-making on the other hand may be godly because the end-result of it is pro-creation, which is a fulfilment of God's commandment to mankind (now whether that commandment is still relevant today, is another topic). But sex, in my opinion, is definitely not a godly act.

Edit: Disclaimer: By arguing that sex is ungodly, I am not arguing for any act that is prohibited by the Bible.

The internet has allowed countless of single people to take up unicorn hunting. I just want a wife who will love me and share life together with God at centre.

Another problem is people look for potential partners based on what the media is saying as well. I know God has put a number of women in my life who would have been fantastic as a wife for me, but they exercised their free will rights and decided they did not want to commit to any sort of relationship with me.

Women are just as bad if not, worse than men for check boxes and Christian women seem to want a man who is better than Christ, I know a number of women like this, they are now nearly 50 and still single and still waiting for that perfect Godly man, when there are plenty of amazing Christian men who would be more than happy to marry them, but no the check boxes are not all ticked and they are no where near Christ, so they fail.

The world is shallow and most Christians seem to continue to walk in this way, which is a shame.
