Just an educational poll for the sake of enlightening the masses...

I've heard some women say that they do not like to be referred to as "hot", so....

This is a little poll to see how men and women prefer to be referred-to by the opposite sex. :D
(I was originally going to make this poll just for the ladies, but I decided to make it co-ed instead..) =)

NOTE:
Please make sure you check the appropriate proper Male/Female selection in the poll.

(Please wait for the poll to be posted. Its gonna take a few minutes..)

Good luck. We're all counting on you.

I prefer to be called by my name, or in this context, my nickname. Is that an option?

I could tolerate "attractive", "handsome" or "good looking" but I would have to conclude that the speaker was either delusional or had an agenda. Unless it was my Mother! :)

Question - who is the person calling me? A stranger? A friend?

Ok, I guess I need to explain.....

1. Pretend you are with someone who either knows you or doesn't know you....

2. Now imagine that person wants to let you know that they find you attractive....

3. Now which synonym for the word "attractive" would you prefer them to use?

4. Choose your answer.

Ah, don't mind them ZT you're just getting the usual playful trolling.

As an answer to the question, all I know is that unless I'm unusually dressed up, a compliment on my looks isn't going to get a guy anywhere. What will work is probably an observation on my mood or attitude or something I'm likely interested in based on the context we're meeting. Basically if you're going to approach me for a conversation have something specific you want to talk about.

Now if there were a friend who wanted to somehow let me know that he was interested in dating me, he probably just needs to come out and say it directly. But acceptable words would be words that can be applied to more than just physical looks, so I'll be really uncomfortable (and possibly offended) if a guy calls me sexy, but beautiful, sweet, incredible, attractive, and probably pretty would be acceptable compliments.

Yeah, this post probably explains a good part of why I'm still single, and God help the poor guy who earnestly wants to convince me that he genuinely likes me.

If it is someone I don't know - keep it formal (good looking, well dressed, etc.)
If it is someone I know - then any adjectives except the ones with a sexual connotation (hot, sexy, etc.)
If it is a secret crush or a romantic partner - any adjective is fine.

Captivating works for me. He has to be consistent. Compliment me on a daily basis or as frequent as possible.

*looks at the mirror feeling so vain and narcissistic. :)

None of them would bother me, except beautiful. Don't call me beautiful.

On another note, I was thinking about how and when I use these words. Pretty is just me being nice. Hot would be because they are, but not really an interest. If I said she was beautiful, gorgeous, etc., that would be something more real from me.

But yeah.. most of them would be acceptable. I'd probably just say "back at ya" and laugh it off anyway. lol

I'd be happy with all of them but 'beautiful' and 'god'.

If I was interested in a woman, I would use the word "Intriguing" signifying that I really wanted to know more about her and she was possibly worth the chase, so to speak.

Intriguing is a very interesting word indeed. Makes men curious and triggers the hunter in them. So what makes a woman intriguing? As guess just by being herself right?

Well, at a different point in time, I would have given you my answer to that. However, in my first post, it was past-tense. LOL I have long closed that away and no longer pursue anyone. Just know, that if a guy says you are intriguing, take that as interest.

Do I need to make a new thread for this? I need to know what makes a woman intriguing. LOL!

I actually enjoy being called most terms of endearment and so whatever the man chooses is fine by me, but there is nothing sexier than a man calling you by your first name followed by a compliment that is genuine and sincere or at least it is for me :)

Fine, depends, if there's one thing I hate it's those guys on Facebook that talk to you and then every day I see another picture of a beautiful woman and their comment is: beautiful! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaah no! Gimme the down to earth guy who just says nothing about how you look. I can't take compliments anyway. One guy said jokingly that I was a youngster. That was nice.
