knowing this:

Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language
(Genesis 11:7)

why should i believe that human translation between tongues perfectly preserves every nuance and meaning?

i thank God, whose glory it is to conceal matters, for the gift of His spirit, who reveals things & teaches understanding!

Puts me in mind of a new take on an old joke. St Peter was showing new arrivals around Heaven and they come to an area surrounded by a high wall. What happens behind there someone asks. St Peter replies Oh thats where the KJV only Bible Study group takes place. They think they are the only ones here. In case you dont know the original joke names a Denomination behind the wall.
LOL, I've heard this one! :)

People who believe Jesus Christ might pay close attention to His references to the faith of Abraham, and then, only then, the appreciation of the Hebrew stimulated working towards a more thorough understanding of our spiritual pas to and through our father, Abraham to Adam and back to our Heavenly Father and all of His will.
God doesn't speak to his children in Hebrew anymore so if you're trying to understand scripture from Hebrew then your going about the wrong way.

Isaiah 28:11 KJV
For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.

Flawed logic here.....and what language did he write them in......and with Moses carrying them down to the people to read it can be logically deduced it was HEBREW....
REGARDLESS...Does not change the fact of what languages it was orginally written in.....you should study because the bible teaches to bave no IDOL IN YOUR LIFE.....WORSHIPPING A MAN MADE, COPIED, TRANSLITERATION IS HAVING AN IDOL!
That's BS man total BS! Think about what you're saying. You're calling a person who believes that his bible is right in every way a freakin Idolator while you look up Greek and Hebrew words in a dictionary where the words are DEFINED by some man as if his definitions are inspired. Then you pick and chose whichever word fits your preconcieved ideas. You're the idol worshipper, you're the one carving out an image that fits your beliefs.

So why don't you stop calling people who have better understand of the bible than you do idolators. Remember you are the one carving out an idol!

Also, the Holy Spirit can't possible sift through the difficult language of the KJV, so I need a version in the watered down form of English we speak today.
I'm still trying to figure out why these folks think God is so impotent that he can't translate his word into other languages. Can you imagine standing before God almighty and explaining that one.

That quote is very appropriate when reading the KJV

then what's the deal with semamith? spider or lizard?

i know it's hard for you to accept correction, having been so bold here - but whoever loves correction, loves knowledge, and finds understanding.
if you can show (without relying on "kjv says it ergo it is true") that it is rightly "spider," i'll accept that reproof. but if you ignore the question, what shall i think?
Let me try this one more time.

In the KJV verse 24 makes a statement and the next 4 verses give examples of that statement. That's God's fingerprint... perfect, logical and in order.

In the NIV verse 24 makes a statement and the next 4 verses are supposed to give examples of the statement but they don't. Only three of the verses do, and the fourth one breaks the pattern. That's man's fingerprint... inperfect, illogical and out of order.

I'm sure that means nothing to you because you bounce around from bible to bible, and Hebrew and Greek so you never get a sense of how God speaks in his word. But, to us that know the absolute perfection of God's writting style in the scriptures, that verse in the NIV sticks out like a sore thumb.

I base my belief on which word is correct by comparing it to the character of God. You base your belief on what James Strong tells you to believe. I mean think about it, do you really think this guy knows the meaning of a word from a language that's was dead about 2000 years before his time.... you're very gullible my friend. And you think I'm dumb because I believe God preserved a perfect bible for me to read so I wouldn't have to put my faith in James Strong.

Sure they were saved. The word of the Lord has always been around for all languages.

Maybe some brilliant mind came to the conclusion that putting his name on it would make him repent...

from what i remember. he had the notes removed from the previous bible most were using before. the notes were added by those like luther and calven to help the common people have a better understanding being as reading the bible for ones self was such a new concept.
he was a steadfast believer in the divine right to rule. he believed our Lord delivered his right to rule as well as all his leadership decisions was our Lords will, as if he was an anointed prophet of the Lord. i can not claim this right was not given to him but for one to lie about something like this is very shameful, arrogant and i would think provoking to the Lord.
supposedly he suggested new methods for torturing prisoners as well as he had an attraction for young boys. there was no freedom of religion in his time. people should be free to worship however they want. i dont remember Jesus ever wacking someone with a shovel if they refused to believe.
these are a few things and their are probably much more. im not saying he did all this stuff, i wasnt there, this is just some things i have read about him.

Friend, for your own sake, please read James White's book, The King James Only Controversy.

Also read Galatians 5. Your fruit is showing.

No book has had greater fruit than the KJV. Judge a book by its' fruits. No new version has been the center of any real revival.

That's man's fingerprint... inperfect, illogical and out of order.

let me overlook your insults and speak instead of wisdom:

once again you give interpretation, not translation. i assume you cannot address the translation - since you refuse to - because it challenges your preconception & destroys the idolized image of the kjv that you're unwilling to give up.

but look, your interpretation is fault - listen, and receive understanding:

verses 24-28 present 4 things that are small, but display wisdom that confounds their smallness - look at the first 3:
ants, who are feeble, but store up food for winter.
badgers, who are weak, but make their home in the strength and security of the rocks.
locusts, who have no king, but march together like an army.

the pattern? creatures who have apparent weakness of some sort, but those weaknesses are directly contradicted by their habits:
ants who have little power to preserve themselves, being weak, but are preserved in harsh times by their foresight.
rock badgers, who are not physically strong to defend themselves, but who by this little strength are able to make homes for themselves in hard rock, a place of strength and safety.
locusts, who do not have any sort of leadership, but who united, swarm and move together as though under a leader.

now, if the correct translation of the fourth is lizards, who are easily caught by hand, but who are found in the palace, which is the most secure place in a land against being taken by force of hand -- then this is in complete harmony (though you, by willful blindness, refuse to see it) - the lizard is subject to the strength and cunning of others, but by its own cunning & wisdom, is found in the place with the strongest and most cunning defense!

now, if the correct translation of the fourth is spiders, who catch things themselves with their hands, but are found in the safety of a kings palace, then the pattern is broken -- it is not a display of weakness for a creature to be able to catch prey with its own hands -- it is a show of strength! so in this reading, 3 things are shown to be weak, but find strength, but the fourth is shown to be itself strong, and also show strength! for the spider is itself cunning and strong, able to capture with her hands - and is found in a place of cunning and strength, within palaces.

there is no irony in a spider being adept and showing itself adept - as there is irony in the first 3, but there is irony in a lizard being easily caught but easily avoiding being caught!

this is not shown to me because i am either idolizing mans work - though a righteous work, blessed by the Father it is - or because i seek to destroy, but because i search first for the truth, and ask God for understanding, rather than leaning on my own.

Please try to consider all of what I write, rather than taking one word, and setting off in yet another direction. I'm calling out the arrogance, insults, and use of bad language, and gently suggesting that such is not indicative of the work of the Holy Spirit in your lives. If the KJV is so great, then the Holy Spirit should be all the more evident in you who defend it than in anyone else. I'm not seeing it.

Please read Dr. White's book.

Isaiah 28:11 KJV

He speaks to people in all their languages depending on where they are in the world, God is not held to just one English language !!!

Also the Holy Spirit lead me in studies to the original Hebrew and Greek to understand the context in what is said in the verses. So your understanding that we don't need the Hebrew and Greek is a little flawed !!!

The only part I would agree with you on is that the Hebrew and Greek do have multiple definitions and how they are used, some of which are false added on definitions.

Example: "diakonos"

The original Greek definition meant only a minister, but servant in the 4th century and other offices of the church were added on over years.

The Catholic church made this change to hide the fact that women were apostles to !!!

KJV is one of the most accurate versions, but it still has it's own translation issues to, and only one who is blind would ignore that !!!

Where did you get your English definitions? Are your definitions inspired? Or did they come from fallible man?

I didn't see a dictionary with the KJV.

If you were my child and every time I touched something cold and said ,"ouch that is HOT." What would your definition of cold be?
